Wearing a shirt
Wearing a sweater
Socks Wearing socks
Hi everyone welcome
back to Mandarin with
Miss Lin from Taiwan
Thank you for learning
Chinese with me Today
I want
to explain to you the four words: wear carry take
What's the
difference
among these four
words: "穿" "帶" "拿"
I would
like to talk
about the difference
among these four words Are
you ready
Because I'm ready
Because I'm already ready
Let's compare the first pair
It's
actually very
easy So we
say "wear"
Mostly used for a piece of clothing
For example
Wearing a shirt
Wear a sweater
Socks
Wear socks
Slippers Wear slippers
Wear
Coat
On the other
hand Bring
It is
mostly used for accessories
such as earrings
Wearing glasses Watch
Wearing a watch
Wearing a bracele
Put on a ring
Ring
Wearing a ring
Wearing a ha
Put on gloves
Just be careful
when we say put on
something put on
accessories put on a
piece of clothing we
put the word "shang
" "dai shang" "watch
" "dai shang guan"
But be careful In
English we say "wear
a belt
" But it's actually "
thin belt "
It's not worn or carried it'
s a thin bel
Wear
Perfume spray
Spray
Now let's look at the second group
Take
However before explaining
Let's play a game
I'm going to read some sentences
And you are going to tell me
Which one is correct
And I'm going to give you
the scenario so you can
understand better how to
tell the difference firs
I'll get the textbook
The second one
I will go get the textbooks
So the scenario is
this actually happens to
me a lot when every time
I have a Skype lesson
with my student and they
would say "Oh teacher
sorry I will just get my
textbook " The answer is
The first one
I'll go get the textbook
Why take
When we look at the word take
You can see in
"ná" there is a
hand You can
actually see
"shǒu" So
this means when we
say "ná" literally
means we are going
to use our hand
So in this scenario
my student really goes
to get the textbook On
the other hand there is
no actual action at the moment It
just indicates
Yeah I have brought
it with me That's it
Next the second one
I brought a gift for you
The second one
I got a gift for you
So the scenario is
Imagine today is Christmas
So you say
Hey I have brought you a gift
So the answer is
I brought you a gift
We use it because you are not going to run away to get
the gift no you are
just going to bring
it out because you
have brought it with
you The third case
I am holding my walle
The first one
I have a wallet in my hand
The second one I
am holding a walle
So the answer is yes
the second one I am
holding a wallet in my hand
because you can
see "hold" so I hold
it in my hand holding
a wallet I literally
use my hand to hold it
The fourth situation
Situation number 4
I will take you there
I will drive
you there
First
Second I will bring you there
So the answer
is the answer
is second I'll take you there bring here means
bring somebody to somewhere
by car or just show them
around just show them
to somewhere So here can
also be translated as
I will drive you
there Let me take you
there Let me show you
I will take you There
is no way to say
Take Because as I said
Take has the action of using your hand
So you are not grabbing
someone So it makes sense
to use "carry"
And some people might wonder about "
put" Which can be explained
as "put something somewhere
" This is completely
different When we say "put"
There's no action
And there's no carrying something
from point A to point B
No
I put my coat on
the chair
I put the
wallet
on my coat
OK that's it for today
