The line can be blurred any you can find yourself thrown back into a survival situation at any time. But at some point, when your most basic needs are met, "survival" becomes simply living. Building a comfortable bushcraft survival shelter with fireplace in the woods is one huge step towards sustainable wilderness living. This video covers the complete build of the tarp and log cabin I built on Season 8 of ALONE. I use only my axe, katanaboy saw, and Leatherman P4 for this bushcraft shelter build.

There you go stick that one right against that line on the inside very
nice and turn it so it fits as tight against this log here as you can get it
Alright so see how there's a big gap right here let's just turn it until we close this
Reduce the gap to the smallest it can be so we have less stuff and less gap to fill in later
Now knock them out good job look at that very good I wish I had an egg sandwich whe
I was building this in the woods go grab another one lay that right across
there is it going to fit good that will work right good right there stick a bunch rig
down there right there on the end of it there you go slap it right there good job
Buddy I need some more right here that's fine that's the way I want to get it watermelon
Holy cow thanks buddy you're welcome now let me go back and why are we putting grass
In it because it helps when the mud dries if there's grass in there it helps keep it
Together so it doesn't dry and crack and fall out very good you have to scrape it up
Rest and kind of throw right here keep on working like that just go up alright got
o mud all this stuff up so it doesn't catch fire here need some more mud bud what do you
You think about that Finn you think that will work yeah you like it what else do you got
You think we need to do anything make the bed want to make the bunk yeah alrig
Let's do that let me square this end up a little bit what do you think good you
That will work hey dad hey we should make a bunk down there too where underneath
Yeah maybe that's where you'll sleep you've got those ends lined up pretty well what do you think
Think Finn you messed up all sorts of things focus on accuracy son not power go bam
See you tomorrow okay that's really cool hey you know what we have to do now we've
We need to hang our deer head and deer skull up there when I get in there I need you to hold both
Through this crack here what's up guys y'all want some tea look at that
Looks nice doesn't it Good What do you think You like it I drink a big pot
Every single morning I'd make it and put it in my little cup then
sit on the beach watch the waves and think about you boys being there
