Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you all find a day to focus on yourself, a day for you.
Today I needed a bit of a reset. A day dedicated to self care. I've been feeling a bit burnt
out recently and I find taking time to spend on myself, not working, not planning anything,
not meeting anyone, no alarms, just helps to clear my mind. So come spend this cosy autumnal
day with me. So I love creating clean, polished, motivating content and I don't tend to film the
bad days. We all have them and I fear sometimes I fall into the category of toxic productivity.
This video to me is showing you guys my recovery routine when I've bashed out too hard for a week
and it's resulted in my body telling me I have to stop. My body's telling me I didn't take care of
it this week and now it's forcing me to take a break. A day of self care I know is what I needed
before the burnout became inevitably worse. I have sucked at journaling recently. That's my
little confession which annoys me because I think I'm a better person when I journal. Is that a
little dramatic? Sure, but hear me out. It helps me to be more present in the moment, actually take
time to reflect and be grateful for what I've achieved. You can totally prompt yourself with
journaling. Ask yourself the kind of questions like, three things I'm grateful for this morning.
What was good about yesterday? What healthy habits do I want to achieve today? Then suddenly I am
falling in love with a hobby that does not require screen time and that's reading. I spend what feels
like most of my life in front of a screen. I'm sure a lot of people relate and that's why I have
started to really value reading. I am not a strong reader, I'm not a fast reader, but the sensation of
getting lost in a book and the story and this was something that was so important for today.
Not worrying about how much time this is taking out of my day. My relationship with working out has
been up and down recently but there's something about a 20 minute yoga stretch in the morning
that not only helps my body to physically feel better but also mentally. I feel I can focus better
throughout the day. Concentrating on something so simple like breathing helps me to find clarity.
I want to say the biggest thank you to the lovely Karma and Luck
for sponsoring this next section of the video. They're all about bringing happiness to your home
with beautiful decor pieces and timeless jewelry. They are a modern spiritual brand, their products
are all handcrafted which is amazing. First up we have this beautiful ring. This is the navy
and white evil eye ring. The evil eye symbol is meant to represent deflecting negativity
and then they also sent me their evil eye double layer necklace. I love necklaces that are of this
style. They sit so beautifully and this one is supposed to help sort of keep you emotionally
balanced. Definitely something I've needed recently. Their pieces are all about the power
to awaken greater awareness and purpose each and every day. The last item was this sage box. I have
never burnt sage before. I believe the right term is smudging so I'm very new to it all but I was
keen to try it out. It came in this stunning box. The specific sage is the protection and
manifestation evil eye plate rosemary white sage gift box. A lot of people of course burn sage for
spiritual reasons such as to cleanse their homes, to get rid of any negative energy. I find burning
sage to be peaceful and almost therapeutic. It helps soothe stress. These gift boxes and jewelry
pieces would make the nicest gift for someone so I'll leave the link in the description bar for
you guys to check out. You know what they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
I have not been living by that model recently. Full transparency, working a full-time job and
doing YouTube has tested my time management especially recently. I kept skipping breakfast
this week and I know that's what led to me feeling just pooped out by lunch, unable to focus and even
a little anxious some mornings. Make time for a yummy breakfast. Your body deserves it and it needs it.
Time for my least favorite thing. The chore I always feel like is a waste of time running up
to it but I recognize the huge difference having a clean home makes. We've all heard the saying
clean space, clear mind but this could not be more true. I recommend making a little to-do list with
cleaning and I know for me if I dedicate a certain amount of time, 30 minutes, an hour it's going to
help me not procrastinate, not get distracted. I just simply put a podcast on or a show in the background
and kind of let my mind go blank, not think about other things I need to do
and days like this cleaning can actually be kind of therapeutic.
Walkies! Do you want to go walkies?
Okay initiate clean girl aesthetic mode. There is no better feeling than a long hot shower or
of time to shave, exfoliate and this is my favorite body scrub at the moment, the frank body
coconut coffee scrub. This smells divine, it makes my whole shower smell good. Once I'm squeaky clean
something I love to do in the spirit of self-care Sunday is leave a hair mask in all day. The olaplex
number three is my favorite and then I just take my time going through a simple yet effective
skincare routine. I decided to do a little under the eye masks as well because you know it makes me
feel busy, it makes me feel good and definitely gives my skin the hydration it has been craving.
This section of the day is not particularly interesting to watch but this is my do nothing
time and not feel guilty about it. I got myself into comfy clothes, made a little matcha and then
just took the time to watch Netflix. This is the definition of me time, not worrying about
not doing anything productive, just let myself actually relax and reset. Pour yourself a glass
of kombucha, put on a show in the background and let's make dinner. I was craving something warm
and comforting so this pasta bake from Hello Fresh looked absolutely perfect. Unlike cleaning,
cooking is a chore I love, it helps me just switch off, concentrate on something I am excited to make,
I'm excited to eat. And then my favorite part of the day, making my home all cozy and watching a
film or a series together. Thank you so much for coming along with me on this day, this is just
your little reminder not to be so hard on yourself. Make time for you, make time for self-care. I love
you guys so much and I'll see you in the next one. Bye!
