$20 Walmart Subwoofer Tested and Blown Up! [4K]

Hmm, I wonder what it would take to rewind this and put this sub back together. My name is Derek and I usually test amplifiers, but today we're going to test out a subwoofer. That's right, if you like these kind of things, make sure you subscribe to my channel. Today we're looking at one of the cheapest subwoofers I've ever seen, $19.99 for this Blaupunkt 12-inch subwoofer. The model is GBW120. They sell it on Walmart. Here are the additional specs. It has an FO of 32 hertz. It has 400 watts RMS, 800 watts peak with a 47.8 ounce magnet and a 2-inch voice coil. Let's unbox it and see what it's all about. All right, here is a $20 12-inch sub from Walmart, Blaupunkt. Look, it even has push terminals. Isn't that crazy? And they'll fit like 8-gauge wire too. It has a stamped steel basket. Like I said, a 47-ounce magnet. It has like a plastic cone and foam surround. So what we decided to do was we're going to mount it inside of the acrylic enclosure so we can show you guys what it really looks like. And luckily, it all fit together pretty nice. Here you can see it. Looks very slick. Can't wait to try it out. Let's see what it'll do. All right guys, here we have the $20 Blaupunkt sub, 12-inch sub, in the sweet Gately Audio acrylic enclosure Mr. Bobby Gately made for me, along with Lord of Bass and Hammer McHammer. We pulled out their sub for a little bit. Wanted to try this $20 Blaupunkt sub you get from Walmart. What I've got here is I've got three different cameras going. This one is going to show you the AMM1. The one back here is going to show you the back of the woofer in case it blows up. And then the one you're looking at right now is the main camera. We're going to use the Orion 3000.1DSPLX. At 4 ohms, this amp puts out over 2000 watts. It should be plenty to test the 400 watts continuous handling the speaker said it can do and 800 peak. So let's try it out, see what it does. All right, we've got all the cameras rolling here. We're going to test out some power here of this Blaupunkt sub with some classic magic mic. This sub has been very impressive so far, I must say. Camera three, check. All cameras go. Let's feel some bass. What do you say? It's handling it though. You can smell it, but it's not blown yet. There it goes. Oh, we have smoke. Oh, it's still trying to go. It's not giving up yet. OSS Labs is stanky. Blaupunkt said, I want more. That was cool. See the smoke? It's still going. It's trying. I'm going to have to open up the door here and fumigate. Blaupunkt 12 inch $20 sub for the win. Yeah, boy. All right, here's the after effects of the Blaupunkt 12 inch sub. We just blew up and we're trying to fumigate here the lab because, yeah, stinky voice coils. I'm going to take it out of the box real quick, out of the acrylic enclosure here, and then we'll cut into it and check out the voice coil and see what happened to it. All right, just got all the screws out. Getting ready to pull the sub out, but you can hear the crunch. It's like Nestle. I'll probably go ahead and take the dust cap off now and we'll pull out the inside of the sub. So let's do that. All right. Sorry, Blaupunkt. I'm going to get rid of your dust cap. Yes, sir. We destroyed it. I would say it is still smoking. I don't know if you can see that here. Let me take it off of the tripod. You still see the smoke? Yep. There it goes. Still coming out. Yep. She is completely toasted. There you have it. Balloon $20 sub from Walmart. Handling 800 watts like a boss. All right, so I'll be honest. This sub was only 20 bucks and I thought it would be cool to put it in the acrylic enclosure and just blow it up. So I know some people are going to be mad. Say, why don't you give this away or whatever. I did this for science. We didn't kill any animals. We didn't do anything bad. We just had fun with the subwoofer.
