In this episode we explore a heeled shipwreck in Cyprus which stranded in 2011 on stormy seas.
The most loyal viewers will recognize this guy.
It's been a while. Thanks. But we're going on an epic trip.
Finally. Our destination this time is Cyprus. There's a location which is on top of my bucket
Just arrived. We start with a good meal before we're gonna infiltrate something.
We're at the first location. Looks like there are new fences and there are new cameras everywhere.
In another episode you can see what we were up to in the first night. We also went to the
Forbidden City of Varosha which was my bucket list number one spot in Europe. So stay tuned.
But first we visit the shipwreck Ediro III. It was on its way to Rhodes with a cargo of gypsum
boards. But stormy seas and strong winds on December 8th 2011 caused the vessel to drift
off course when it struck a rock and ran into trouble about 10 miles from the shore of Papos
and became disabled. The ship stranded a few hours later on the rocks close to the shore.
Seven of the nine crew members were rescued by a British military helicopter.
The captain and chief engineer remained longer on board. There are no official plans for removal
due to the difficulty of the project. The coastline is protected natural park where turtles nest.
We're not the only one here. All the tourists. My god. Really touristic.
After the Abacus Canyon we are going to see the turtles.
We only saw that turtle. Oh my god it's really slanted man. I hope we can get on to it.
I'm coming man. Yeah you have to wait for the wave and then we can go.
Nice.
Put on some clothes and shoes for exploring. Yeah.
Time to explore the ship. Let's see if there's still something here.
Oh i'm busy already now. Me too. Oh my god this looks from the engine room.
Control panels. The really bad smell of bird ----. Let me check. Can i close this door?
It's frosty around. Oh it's a dead end.
Yeah the smell is terrible here. Is there something? Probably not.
In here? Who was in the last? Yeah.
All right yeah let's climb up. I think this is the crew department. Oh my gosh look at this.
Holy ----. Yeah it's ---- indeed.
Everything is still here. I think they just took out the chemicals of the ship and then left the
rest. It started to be there. The other side laundry room. So the ship got stuck in 2011
in heavy seas. I think there were nine crew members on board and they were yet rescued.
And since then the ship is here and it's now a tourist attraction.
Many many people around.
And it's 83 meters long. Yeah nice. Yeah it's a cargo ship. It was a cargo ship.
Shower. Holy moly. Yeah look at the bird ---- man. My god. It really reminds me of the church man.
Pretty much out.
In an earlier episode we explored a slanted church which was a hilarious explore.
Oh yeah this is sweet. Pretty nice.
I think a kitchen is here or candy.
Oh this looks cool. Are you okay?
Are you okay? It's slippery man.
Check here. Some tables. It's pretty large here. A kitchen. Damn too much bird ---- here.
There's a pigeon. No it's not a seagull. It's really bad here. It's not easy to walk here.
No. It looks pretty nice with all the bird crap. It really looks like a ghost ship.
Yeah luckily we film with phones today. It would be shitty to film you with a gimbal now. Oh my god.
The fridge. On the other side? There's another room. Storage. Boring.
Yeah let's find a way up. Can you see how we stand? No.
It's that time again. Hi Frederik.
Do you remember the theme park yesterday? Yes. I feel it's a little bit this attraction.
And those are the moving stairs normally.
Walking upstairs like this is terrible.
My god look at this. Some fresh poo.
Fresh pigeon diarrhea. You can see that rough seas. The pigeons are walking in here.
Nice little office. Some bedrooms here. Restricted area. Here the bathroom. Wait another bathroom.
How many people were on this boat? One that crashed. Nine crew members. Not so many beds.
Nope. I'm dizzy. Can we go outside? Yeah for one minute.
Really are they all gone? Damn we are high. Nice day out. I feel like a tourist today.
The bridge with some equipment. Looks pretty dope. The ship Edward III was built in 1966 in Norway
and sailed under the flag of Sierra Leone. It had an Albanian owner at the time of the accident.
The ship was 83 meters long, 275 feet and weights about two and a half thousand tons.
Diesel, oil and other fluids have been removed after being stranded.
Nice to jump on the boat. Yeah well where your hand is they used to be the flags.
Yeah Sierra Leone. Oh this is where the ship was registered.
Ah Holland. Is it next to it here? Holland, Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Ukraine, Albania, Montenegro.
Let's see what's here. Oh this is just the stairs going down. Illuminated. Let's check this door.
Oh my god. Too much bird poop. Hold your breath.
Just another sofa. Let's go out here man. I need some fresh air.
Cool. I'm going to check the engine room.
Control panels here yeah. This is not as dirty as the other parts.
Oh actually it's uh i think it's pretty nice when you come down here. Okay i'm there.
Hello.
Control panel, the engine. Looks like a workshop.
Only some messes left behind and everything got rusty in here.
Why is this standing here? It's always on a ship. Yeah why? Yeah just if they have to make something.
It's always. All right let's check if we can get to the engine itself.
Clear water right? This stair is probably left to the engine room. Too bad. More parts which are
totally under water. The door is nice. I'm gonna put out my shoes and then carefully walk.
It's really narrow in here. The last part we still need to see. The front of the ship.
Yeah it's pretty deep. For the fish. Deep as well? No. Nice and the rocks. I guess it's like
10 meters, 11, maybe 12. Yeah something. Wow this is a nice shot.
The paint room. It's always a room on the ship. Constantly needs to be painted.
Nice. Holy damn. So here the gypsum boards were located. I guess from this point they took it out.
We explored the ship and it's time to go to the next location. Thanks for watching. Leave a thumbs
up if you liked the video and subscribe to our channel to follow our future adventures.
