Namaskar, how are you? Red Fort, Red Fort, Red Fort, Red Fort, Old Delhi, kidney, you can do 80, 80, 90, I'll give you, I'll give you a
Okay, there's 200, no change, for you, for you. Okay, thank you, bye-bye.
Namaskar, no, no thank you.
It's closed.
Ah, closed?
Yeah.
Only Monday.
Oh, only Monday?
Yes.
Came at the wrong time, but it's okay, I just, how do I get to Old, Old Delhi?
Old Delhi, this one go there.
Ah, of course.
In Old Delhi and mosque, in Old City and spice market, other side many, many market.
Okay, thank you, it's okay, it's okay.
Go there and nice price.
It's okay, thank you.
Very cheap price.
Don't worry.
Alright guys, so as you heard, you heard the man, it is closed today, it's pretty unfortunate, but you can kind of see, like the old red brick, we'll have to go on another day.
So we're basically, I'm just going to walk around to the Old Delhi area, which is the main, that's why I wanted to do the main thing to be anywhere, I just thought I'd go to Red Fort while I was here.
It's okay.
I like to walk, it's okay.
It's okay, it's 10 minute walk, thank you.
The sugarcane, which I'm going to go for because I'm so thirsty.
Okay, one sugarcane.
Yeah, no ice, no ice.
Ahmed, nice to meet you.
This is the sugarcane, it's pretty cool.
It's just, looks like bamboo, quite hard.
And this is the contraption they use.
Large.
Kidney Rupee?
40? Okay, very good price.
So he cleans it out with hopefully not too dirty water.
Just gets rid of all the excess from the last serving.
It's such an old machine, but it still works very well, I assume.
Basically just, it's a contraption to essentially just crush this.
And you can see all the excess.
Okay, very clean, very clean.
Okay, so he gets, so he gets like three, three of them.
And then, oh four of them actually.
And then you can see, coming out the bottom, is the actual sugar.
The sugar juice, wow.
So the second time gets a lot more out.
So much liquid in that one.
And then is it the third time?
Yeah, he goes.
Gotta be careful not to get your fingers stuck in there.
And look how much water.
That's awesome.
Oh, fourth time?
Wow.
It's so weird that like there's so much liquid in just this wooden thing.
Not wooden, but you know what I mean.
So he's basically crushed it up into, it's basically just like paper now.
Oh, fifth time.
Wow.
Oh wow.
So he's very efficient to get all of it.
You can still see there's some bits coming out, so I wonder if they have to filter it.
Let's see how much liquid he got.
Whoa.
So much.
That's probably like five servings.
And then he just sieves it through.
The last, the last.
There we go.
Oh yeah.
Basically just very nice sugar cane.
And it would be cold if there was ice, but we're not going to have ice because ice could be bad for us.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
No change.
Okay, let's give it a go.
It's so hot today.
This is perfect for me right now.
That's Zabadast right there.
Absolutely Zabadast.
Zabadank, I call it.
So, so sweet and refreshing.
It's not that cold, that's the only issue, but that's why they add the ice, like I said.
And yeah, in a really nice area.
We've got the Red Fort behind us.
We've got Jama Masjid ahead of us, but you probably can't see.
And yeah, probably going to finish this off.
Got it all over me.
Got it all over my kulta.
Another drink, done.
And that was 40 rupees, half a dollar.
Lovely value for money.
And a nice guy, nice interaction.
Okay, on to the next spot.
What's your name?
My name is Bablu.
Okay, nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you too.
Thank you.
Where are you going?
What's your name?
Hari.
You speak Hindi?
Oh, Tora Tora.
Tora Tora, very good.
Thank you, thank you.
Where is the, I'm looking for like the main road.
I'm not looking for anywhere in particular, just somewhere good to walk around.
Yeah, Old Delhi.
What's this over here?
What's, what's the...
There's a...
Education?
Education.
What's the...
I need to go further up, further up.
Yeah.
Okay, thank you.
Thank you.
What's your what?
You're the helicopter driver?
Okay.
I'm okay.
It's okay, I walk on my own.
Thank you very much, sir.
Okay, thank you very much.
Hari.
Shukriya.
It's an awesome place.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh yeah, that's what I like to say as well.
Yeah.
Very similar to London.
What's that mean?
Ah, yeah.
I'm learning, you're teaching me.
How do I say numbers?
What are the numbers?
1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Okay, okay.
That's something I, that's my next step.
I need to learn that.
This is, finally.
After probably half an hour of walking around in tuk-tuks.
I found, it's a good...
It's okay.
I appreciate it but I will go on my own.
Thank you.
I know, I know.
No, it's fine, it's fine.
I don't, I appreciate it but I don't need help.
Thank you.
Wow, it's very beautiful.
Brother.
Brother, no, no means no.
No.
I don't want it.
I'm sorry.
We've got an argument going on here.
Still...
Yeah.
No, I'm not sure.
Nice to meet you, brother.
Thank you very much.
Thank you, bro.
Okay.
It's okay.
Brother, please.
Please, let me go on my own.
Please.
It's okay.
Thank you.
I appreciate it but I do this on my own because for my YouTube video.
Thank you.
Okay.
YouTube video.
YouTube.
Okay.
No problem.
You little bit help me because I have my job.
This is the Indian helicopter.
Enjoy my bicycle.
No, I'm okay.
Thank you.
Because you can just be helping and my very little child.
Okay.
Nice to meet you.
I don't want it.
I've said no 30 times now.
You took my rickshaw.
You can show me some people is like me because I work here.
Do you mind if I walk on my own now?
I'm okay.
Okay.
Nice to meet you.
Really testing my patience there.
Jesus Christ.
Okay.
We made it.
Finally.
We've got loads of stuff going on.
Pastry.
Flowers.
Made in England stuff.
Hey, I remember you.
Yeah.
From Holi.
Happy Holi.
Nahi chahiye.
Just looking.
Very good Holi.
I remember you guys seen my Holi vlog.
He was one of the first guys in it.
You were crazy.
You were going crazy.
You were like, yeah, you were enjoying yourself.
Okay.
I'll go this way.
Nice to meet you.
God, it just wears me out.
People were just like constantly on your back.
Like that guy was the most determined man I've ever met in my life.
I said no probably 30 times.
Like I will edit some of the time that I was walking with him out because it's a little bit boring.
But he kept saying no.
And he just kept going on.
Anyway, sorry guys.
I've gone off on a little bit of a tangent.
But we're here.
We're in Old Delhi.
This is the real Delhi.
It's like traveling back in time a little bit.
And we get to see what this place is about.
This is super cool.
We've got places to wash your hands.
We've got markets.
We've got lots of families here, actually.
Lots of locals here.
No tourists.
Looks like, well, local tourists that is.
Seems to be selling everything you can ever think of.
We've even got food here.
Yeah, super old buildings.
Like I said, Old Delhi dates back to like the 16th century, I believe.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
But it's debated, I believe.
I don't think I'm too keen for some like market items today.
So I think we'll just walk up, speak to some people, and see what the vibe is like here.
It's a very cool place.
And it's actually starting to cool down a little bit, which is nice.
Oh, balloon!
Nahi chahiye.
You also see that there's no motorized vehicles here.
It's all bicycles, which is good for sound, good for the ears.
See?
No beeping.
But it's probably quite hard for these guys, cycling in the heat all day.
Especially when they get a bit older.
But must keep them fit.
Maybe they live longer.
Namaskar!
So we've got basically the main road here with the big market shops.
And then there's actual little side streets with spice markets and other markets.
Super cool area.
We've got jewellery.
Oh, really nice jewellery.
Unfortunately, I've got the two rings.
And you'll notice that this one on the right is actually from Manar in Kerala.
And it's still shiny.
There's some construction work going on.
A little bit of traffic.
Oh, sorry.
Got the colours from police still knocking about.
And you'll probably notice there's not a huge amount of women.
It's like male dominators, generally.
You get women, but generally it says more male dominated.
And I'm not 100% sure why.
I'm not sure if the actual population is actually different in terms of male or female.
But on the streets it's definitely less female.
Maybe they're... I'm not sure.
And the other thing that I'll never ever get used to is all these wires.
It's just sprawling everywhere.
Assuming when one breaks, they just have to make a new line because they can't fix the old one.
Look at that. Wow.
So many wires.
I guess people just get used to it.
So we're walking through the jewellery quarter, I believe.
Which is pretty cool.
But I don't really have the funds for that right now.
Although actually, it could be very cheap. I don't know.
Should I ask?
Do you speak English?
This?
Silver or no silver?
Can you check?
Silver?
Yeah?
Okay, okay.
Thank you.
I don't think that was a verified check.
He didn't really know what I was saying.
Anyway.
Oh, there's a trophy.
Maybe I should get some of those and pretend that I'm a successful...
Hello.
How are you?
This is Insta360, right?
Oh yeah.
GoPro?
No, GoPro.
Just GoPro 10.
Nice, nice.
My friend makes video on Insta360.
Oh, nice.
Where are you heading?
I'm heading to Jama Masjid to have some food.
Jama Masjid?
Oh, awesome.
Do you want to have some food?
I've just eaten, brother.
Thank you very much, though.
You're welcome.
Have a good day.
Bye-bye.
Very nice, gentlemen.
And it's just small jewellery.
So I think we're going to head back onto the main road and then we'll go to the next spot.
Alright.
I've seen lots of people eating this sweet over here, which looks really nice.
So I'm going to see if I can get one.
Let's see how much they are.
They look really cool.
Here they are.
This guy's making them.
Namaskar.
Wow.
So it looks like pastry.
It's so warm.
So I'm standing like a metre away because it's so, so warm.
Okay, let's see where I can get one.
Namaskar.
Can I have one?
One?
Two minutes, wait, wait.
Okay.
Just wait for two minutes.
Okay, no problem.
This is how he makes them.
So that is oil, I presume.
He's just frying them in the oil, making them all crispy.
And I assume it's made out of like this pastry.
And then I'm assuming when he's done, he pops it into there and then we're done.
So we've got a couple more minutes.
But I was looking around and there's so many people buying these.
So they must be good.
They must be.
Are they good?
Good?
Zabadast?
Nice?
Very good?
Delicious?
This preparation is from maida, desi ghee, and sugar syrup.
Okay.
Wow.
So it's very, very delicious.
I saw lots of people eating them so I thought it must be good.
I also come from Bihar.
Uh-huh.
Bihar.
And for this.
Okay.
This is famous for...
Oh, this is famous?
Yes.
What's the name?
Okay.
One?
Nice to meet you.
So there we go.
We're done.
Look at that.
Oh my God.
So wet.
Got a thick layer of syrup or oil on it.
And it's, you know, everyone's queuing up.
Everyone's ready.
Look at this.
There's like five people waiting.
It looks like syrup on it.
Looks like it's almost shining.
Okay.
Who do I pay?
Are you sure?
Oh.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Very kind of you.
Okay.
Thank you.
Look at that, guys.
It's just shining.
So, so...
Oh, it's very soft as well.
Okay.
Thank you very much.
Look at that, guys.
Looks delicious.
And what's the name of this?
Jalebi.
Oh.
Ah.
Jalebi.
It's the name.
Okay.
We'll try it.
Well, thank you very much.
Very kind of you.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, no way.
Yeah.
Call me Harry.
Oh, wow.
So, you're the Indian version of Harry.
Wow.
So, his name is Harry Om.
Yeah.
Okay, let's try this.
Let's try it.
We'll get out of the crowd a little bit.
Oh, it's quite hot.
Very wet.
It's like crispy.
There's not...
It's like...
There's not anything filling in it.
But it's so, so sweet.
It's like 100 out of 100 sweetness.
I'm sorry.
I don't understand, brother.
He thinks I speak Hindi because I speak to him a little bit in Hindi and now he thinks
I'm fluent.
This would be better when it's prepared less sweets.
Ah.
Less than sweets.
Okay.
Okay, let's try another go.
It's so wet.
Like, it's literally dripping.
Oh, my god.
Normal people, normal man eat daily 250 grams per day.
He became diabetic.
Oh, wow.
I can see why because it's so sweet.
One of the sweetest things I've ever had.
It's literally just pastry covered in oil, sugar, syrup.
I'm going to get the biggest sugar high from this I've ever had.
But it's so good.
So, so good.
And very nice of him to pay for me.
I don't actually know how much it was.
Maybe $1.
But really nice.
Just goes to show the hospitality here in Delhi is just, you know, a cut above the rest.
And really, really nice people here.
Okay.
Nice to meet you.
Very nice to meet you.
Thank you.
How are you?
I'm the legend.
All right, guys.
Next stop is, what is this?
A temple?
Definitely some sort of temple.
See, we've got like a people praying and then there's like a wet area before you go into
the temple where everyone takes their shoes off.
So, oh, it's Sikh because that's the Sikh sign.
I recognize it.
Very nice.
Okay.
Maybe I'm not supposed to film here, but just very beautiful.
Nice to see people praying outside.
The thing that, you know, really strikes me about India and this place in particular of
India is like how there's like Sikhs, Muslims, Christians and Hindus.
Apologies.
Sorry.
Four religions in this one small area and they all like get along very well and living
together.
Very nice.
Namaskar.
Hello.
Lots of Sikhs in their dresses today.
I haven't seen many Sikhs since I've been here.
Oh, here we go.
Here's a huge Sikh sign.
Oh, sorry.
Namaskar.
So, yeah, must be a very Sikh area.
Namaskar.
How are you?
Hello.
Can I ride?
Can I cycle?
I cycle?
Me?
You there?
No, don't worry.
He doesn't understand.
I cycle.
Me cycle.
You sit.
Okay?
Good driving.
Namaskar.
How much you paying me for this?
You pay me?
I see very friendly.
200?
1000?
No, no tax.
1000 you give me?
Okay.
This is quite fun actually.
I think we're ready.
Okay.
Stop here?
Oh, the brakes are a little bit soft.
Okay.
That was good fun.
Shukriya.
Yeah, good?
Good cyclist?
Okay.
Okay, you give me 1000?
I drive you.
You give me 200?
Only joking.
How much you gonna pay me?
You have 100?
100?
No change?
No change.
Oh, of course.
Okay.
For you.
Okay, nice to meet you.
It's okay.
Thank you.
Thank you brother.
Nice to meet you.
So I just gave him 200 for me to give him a lift.
That makes sense.
How are you?
I'm fine.
Good?
Nice to meet you.
Yes.
Nice to meet you.
What's your name?
Komal Singh Chauhan.
Nice to meet you.
Komal Singh Chauhan.
Chauhan?
Yes.
Okay.
Gotta check I've got all my belongings because that was a little bit...
Okay, wow, this is beautiful.
The flag.
Zabadast.
Yeah.
What is that?
Indian flag.
Yeah.
India Zindabad.
Zindabad.
I can say that?
Zindabad?
India Zindabad?
Zindabad.
Long live India.
Okay.
Nice to meet you.
Bye bye.
Thank you guys.
Fast forward a little bit.
Obviously you can see the sun has gone down but I've come out to get a little bit of a
bite to eat.
So we're going to head through...
I'm in the main bazaar which is by where I'm staying.
Just like 10 minutes away from where I'm staying.
So we'll try and get some food.
Maybe we need to ask someone.
Oh, excuse me.
Do you know where I can get some good food around here?
No, no, no.
Look who it is.
It's been a while.
We'll get some good food.
This whole street, baby.
Let's go.
Whatever you want to say, let's do it.
Yeah, guys.
So I'm with the man, the myth, the legend.
Luke, the man.
He arrived.
This is the man, the myth, the legend.
He has VIP massage service.
What's your name?
Sultan.
You look kind of angry.
I know.
He looks a little bit angry.
Let's get some good food.
Nice to meet you.
He woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.
Okay, the thing that is calling my name are these dumpling kind of things.
It's got a very special name.
There's a couple of stands.
So we'll go to...
Do you remember where the other stand was?
The third one?
Right there.
Oh, awesome.
There we go.
Let's do it.
Shallow.
Navigate the road.
Here we go.
So they're called momos.
And I've never had them before.
But they're like Nepalese dumplings.
And you can get them fried.
Hello, sir.
How are you?
Good?
Could I get chicken?
Half chicken?
Okay, thank you.
You have paneer?
Okay, one paneer.
Half paneer.
Thank you.
So here we go, guys.
They're just like steaming dumplings.
And I believe you can have them fried or normal.
It depends on whose store it is.
But sometimes they have the frying machine over on the other side.
Steamed ones are good though.
Steamed ones are good and they come very quickly.
Literally within 10 seconds.
And 25 rupees for half.
Well, I'm assuming.
Wow, look at that, guys.
It's quite hot.
And we've got the wet dumplings.
Oh, it's very, very hot.
It's super hot.
And then some mayonnaise.
I'm going to give it one minute and then we'll try these.
Alright, guys.
And I kind of messed up a little bit.
I accidentally ordered twice.
But that's good because that means we get to try chicken and paneer.
So we've got chicken here, paneer here.
Let's try paneer first.
It's so good.
I've had dumplings before.
But not in India.
With a little bit of mayo.
Oh, my God.
That's so soft.
I'm not sure if that is chicken.
I think that might be...
No, yeah, that is paneer.
Paneer.
Oh, okay.
That one's the chicken.
The chicken's so good, guys.
Yeah, really nice.
Like I said, the outside is so, so soft.
Literally, it's like breaking apart.
And then the inside is cheesy but not too cheesy.
It's not overpowering.
Two bites and you're done.
Now, I'll try the chicken.
This is probably what I'm more interested in.
I prefer the chicken, definitely.
It's got like a lot more in it.
It's like a lot more volume of food in there.
And again, the outside is soft.
I think it's mayo.
It's mayo?
I believe so, yeah.
Yeah, it's like nice to dip it in the mayo.
Really good meal.
Thank you very much.
Where are you from?
India.
Nice.
Whereabouts in India?
Whereabouts?
Delhi?
Delhi.
Okay, awesome.
How many momos do you sell in a day?
In one day, how many?
For a translator.
Huh?
3,000.
3,000 momos.
Thank you for translating, bro.
No problem.
3,000 or 300?
3,000, like 3,000 pieces.
Oh my God.
That's insane.
I love asking that question because there's always so, so many.
3,000, wow.
That's a lot.
Would you like to try one, bro?
This is the paneer one, right?
Yeah, chicken paneer.
I haven't had the paneer one, so we'll try the paneer.
It's still pretty hot, even though we've left it a while.
Let's give it a try.
You're right, it just breaks off completely.
It's totally different to the steamed one versus the fried ones.
Because I had the fried ones just before.
These ones are like...
Completely different, aren't they?
Wow, it's so much more fragile.
That's nice.
Yeah.
It's so easy to digest, I feel like.
It just falls down your mouth.
It's so, so easy to eat.
Very more-ish as well.
You just want to keep eating them.
So I guess it's good that I double ordered because we can go for another chicken.
It's momos.
Momos?
You get these a lot?
Momos.
You order these every day?
Is this a meal or a snack?
We eat like, not every day, but we eat like, in a week, one or two times.
One or two times, okay.
You are from this area?
Yeah.
That's my office.
Oh, nice.
Are you from Australia?
Australia and UK.
UK, nice to meet you.
Two bites and you're done.
Nice to meet you, bro.
What's the sauce you've got?
That one is paneer.
And that's a chilli sauce.
Mmm.
Ah, like a paneer puree?
No.
Oh, that's another thing we've got to try.
Paneer puree.
Yeah, guys.
Oh, paneer puree.
I've heard a lot about that.
Delicious meal.
And now we've got to pay.
You have change?
How much?
Kidney rupee?
Kidney?
55.
You have a YouTube channel or on Instagram you do?
YouTube.
What's the name?
Shukria.
Thank you very much.
Okay.
Thank you very much.
Nice to meet you.
Okay.
And yeah, guys.
I just wanted to talk a little bit more about the video and, like, the title of the video,
where I talk about which is better, Indian or Pakistan hospitality, because I've been
to both in the last year.
I would say it's a very hard question.
I don't want to take any sides, but obviously today's video I showed locals paying for my
meal, and I would say that so far more locals have paid for my meal in India than they did
in Pakistan.
However, I would say that more Pakistan locals invited me for tea.
So, it's a different type of hospitality.
So, here it's more like they'll give you a gift.
In Pakistan it's more like come and join me and I will pay for drinks and we can talk.
So, it's a different type of hospitality.
So, I'm not saying that India is better or Pakistan is better.
I'm trying to be very diplomatic here.
Let's put it that way.
Both countries have insane hospitality like no other in the world.
I feel that Pakistan was more of a surprise and a shock to me because I'd never experienced
hospitality like that in my life.
Whereas now that I've already been to Pakistan, I kind of was expecting it in India and I
got it in India.
So, it's hard for me to say one is better than the other, but for sure if I was counting
the amount of times that people were hospitable, I would say Pakistan probably is more.
But however, I was in Pakistan for longer.
So, it's hard for me to judge.
I don't want to just go by quantity.
And of course, one of the most important things I will say here is that my experience in each
country does not represent the experience that you'll get.
Some of you could go to Pakistan and hate it.
Some of you could go to Pakistan and love it.
And the same with India.
It's the way that you perceive things is different for everyone.
And the thing I'm learning on this trip is that your frame of mind in a certain situation
will completely dictate and control how you enjoy the situation.
For example, let's just say I go out onto my road now.
It's very busy.
There's cows.
There's rubbish.
There's people.
Tuk Tuk, you want to go here?
You want to take me for a tour?
I could go out and go onto the street and look out and think, wow, this is absolute
madness.
But I love it.
It's people just enjoying themselves and getting on with their lives.
And the smells are beautiful.
The food is beautiful.
Or I could go out onto the roads and look at everything and say, oh, this is not very
nice.
It's so noisy.
It's so crowded.
Oh, I hate this.
It's smelly.
But I don't feel like that.
So what I'm trying to say is it's all about your frame of mind.
You've got to be in a good frame of mind, and you've got to take everything with a pinch
of salt.
And yeah, guys, I'm basically just rambling a little bit too much.
But yeah, I hope you guys get the picture.
Basically, I'm trying to say I love both countries, and the hospitality is a cut above every other
country that I've been to.
The Middle East in general, I'd say, is pretty good.
But yeah, Pakistan in Asia and India, Southern Asia, is just such an awesome place.
So yeah, thank you very much for watching.
If you enjoyed the video, I'm making daily videos in India every day, 6 p.m.
