Hi everyone and welcome back to my channel.

of my upcoming 2022 fall decorating videos.
And if you want fall inspiration right now, I will have a playlist with all of my fall
decorating and DIY videos from previous years linked below.
So as you can tell, I took down my summer decor and I'm starting with a clean blank
canvas.
I usually leave my house like this for a few days so I can reset, calm my space, see if
I can use items I already have in a new way and just overall get inspired to decorate
for the new season.
So today we're going to decorate my home for early fall, really set the bones for the last
half of the year, which means adding in warm tones using copper, adding softness with rugs
and just adding in a ton of cozy texture to get our home feeling really cozy for the
last half of the year.
One big change I'm doing today is I am getting new bar stools.
I have had this chair type of bar stool here since we moved in and I just felt like changing
things up.
I wanted to try a new style and I loved these that I found at the at home store.
They come in two heights and I ended up needing the taller of the two for my island, but I
just love them.
I will link these exact ones down below and also anything else that I show in today's
video that is linkable, I will add down in the description box as well.
I'm absolutely loving how these bar stools look here.
I've never had this type at our big island and I just love how much clearer the view
is.
They're less bulky, so I just feel like it opens up our space, which I love.
They have this light fabric that matches our dining room chairs and all of the detail and
whitewashed wood on these I think are just so beautiful.
Really love these and it was fun to change things up in here.
I also picked up two runners at the at home store.
Super impressed with their rug selection.
They have all different sizes, designs, colors and they are at great prices.
This is a one of their smaller runners.
It's just under two feet wide and I think it's like eight feet or six feet, yeah, six
feet long.
So I'll show you the pattern in a second, but it comes rolled up like this.
If you like this one, it is the D452.
That's kind of how they organize all of them and how you can find them in the store.
But they were $29.99 each and this is what it looks like unrolled.
I love that Victorian pattern.
You can see that there are some warmer tones in here and I really wanted to add in some
warmth into my kitchen with these runners just because I love to add warmth any way
that I can for this last half of the year.
Really warm up the home for fall and winter, but also we are getting wood, like the wood
look floors installed.
So I figured adding in these warm toned runners on my floor would be a really fun way to kind
of get the feel of what that's going to be like.
I've always wanted to have the wood floors installed in our home, so I'm so excited that
should be happening.
We have our consult later today actually, so I'll know a little bit more when that's
happening.
But yeah, I'll definitely update you guys, let you know what we decide to use and obviously
how it turns out.
Most times with new rugs, they come so folded up, but these didn't really have that problem.
I just kind of had to bend the end a little bit and it smoothed right out and was ready
to go.
Runners are so hard to keep in place, especially with kids and dogs running around.
So I picked up these stay in place tabs, which are basically like an adhesive piece that
sticks to the floor and they're supposed to keep your rugs in place.
So fingers crossed, I know I will not be able to keep these here if they are constantly
sliding all around.
It will drive me insane.
This first rug, I followed the instructions and I cut the tabs into squares like it showed
on the picture and just went ahead and added one to each corner and then positioned it
where I wanted it to lay on the floor.
And then I noticed pretty quickly after that the rug was not staying in place.
So I figured I would try it again.
And for the next rug, I used the entire rectangle piece.
So instead of cutting it down into a square, I used one big piece per corner.
And once I did that, these rugs have not moved.
It has been so wonderful.
I love the way they look and I absolutely love how well these are holding them down
on the floor.
When I say they haven't moved, they really have not moved.
They work so much better than the non-slip mats that I've used in the past that always
end up getting like bunched up and move around.
So anyway, highly recommend these.
I found them at Target down the like carpet area rug aisle.
I love the softness and cozy feel that these add to our kitchen and the added warmth against
our gray floors looks so nice.
Now it's time to decorate my open shelving.
I have a lot of copper pieces that I wanted to add in over here with some new baskets
and also mix in with my white pottery.
And I think this will be a great space that will transition perfectly into fall and even
the winter months.
I
fall I have all of my copper out to really set the tone and I'll be able to
incorporate all of my decor very easily in there. I was not quite ready to part
with my citrus juicer quite yet I think it's just such a beautiful piece and we
also use it a lot so I like that I was able to use it here kind of tie in more
of that coppery warm tone and then these two baskets this one is from Bells and I
bought a whole bunch of different sizes they're more of a square shape and I
love the color it's a little bit more of a cool tone which I like it's made of
almost like this plastic material so I'll be able to use it for outside I'm
picturing mums for fall and all kinds of stuff so I have four other baskets like
that in a similar size and then these two really pretty planters were from
Hobby Lobby I want to say two years ago they may bring them back or something
similar but I just love this tone for the fall I could picture some really
pretty mums in there as well but I'm loving how they look here for now and
then this basket is from Ikea they do have this in a longer size as well it is
also a perfect match for those baskets that I bought at Bells so I thought
those looked really cute to kind of play off of each other I have a dough bowl in
the back I put these really pretty copper measuring cups hung here
sometimes I hang dish towels there but I thought these copper measuring cups
were so cute there for now and then of course all of my creamer collection my
cream ironstone plates and yeah just mixed in with some copper I absolutely
am just loving this and like I said it sets the tone and I'll be able to mix in
a lot of fall and pumpkins here as we get closer to fall and now we have laid
out all of the decor items that I picked out to decorate around my island
and my kitchen and most of these things are things that I already have you'll
see a lot of wood basket texture a little bit more copper I have been
loving picking up marble pieces lately I've had this little soap bowl for a
while and this cutting board and I also just picked up this spoon rest and I
have a fun DIY with a marble trivet and vintage candlestick that I'll be showing
you later on in my fall decorating so loving marble lately I love to display a
lot of baking goods just because these fall and winter months I love to start
baking so it's fun to display it this dough bowl I've been loving just keeping
out with some fruit and then a couple new items that I did pick up are these
two baskets from Hobby Lobby they are a little pricey I think full price the
large one is hang on $44.99 so definitely wait till they're on a sale
and the smaller one is $34.99 but I love those so much fun to just add a lot of
texture to a space and when it gets closer to fall I think this will be
really pretty to add some fall florals into I have all of my rolling pins with
a crock that we'll be adding those to again just playing in that whole baking
vibe and then for my island I put together this really pretty centerpiece
using faux flowers that I had from spring and these really realistic leaves
that I just picked up at Michaels if you follow me on Instagram I shared these
the other day but they are just so realistic and pretty I think these will
transition so beautifully into fall and the best part is they were part of their
spring florals and all of their summer and spring florals are 75% off so these
full price were full price $7.99 and I picked them up for I think they were
like $2.39 each after the discount so really love that and I'm excited to put
together a cute little centerpiece for my island and get all of this stuff
displayed in my kitchen I found this copper pot at an antique store and I
decided to add it to my collection above the stove it really helped just
kind of fill that area out a little bit more and I get asked a lot what I use to
hang these pots and it's just a black tension rod that I picked up from Target
it's really nice because we didn't have to drill into the cabinets and it's
really done a great job holding the weight of these pots so highly recommend
trying out a tension rod if you would like to do something similar so because
of my allergies I'm not the biggest candle person but I do love these from
anthropology they aren't too strong so they don't make me feel congested they
also look so pretty and I heard that they have some new fall scents out in
these really pretty jars so I definitely need to make a trip to anthropology just
so I can smell their new fall candles a classic farmhouse kitchen look is
displaying rolling pins in a big crock and I have grown my vintage rolling pin
collection quite a bit so I'm excited to set them all up in a crock and put them
over here in my kitchen area and I really think it's going to tie in like
that cozy baking vibe that I'm going for for fall all of the groupings that you
see against my back wall in the kitchen are based around where I have outlets
that I'm trying to cover up even just leaning a couple wooden cutting boards
over an outlet I think can make such a big difference and then I'm going in and
adding this picnic basket here above my stove for some more texture and color I
think it would be so pretty if I could find some of those dried Indian corn
that's still kind of on the husk and put that in here for fall let me know if
you have started to decorate for fall yet or when you plan on decorating for
fall so I've been keeping this big old cutting board here I love it because it
not only looks pretty but it's so much more practical when I am constantly
chopping up fruit and different snacks for myself and the kids throughout the
day I was going through so many of those small cutting boards washing them all
the time but this one is really nice because I can just cut it right on here
and then wipe it off I don't have to run it through the dishwasher or hand wash
it constantly so I love this super pretty as well I use it to take pictures
on it's kind of like a backsplash as a cutting board and I don't know I just
think it's pretty sitting out here on my counter too and then right next to it by
my sink I'm putting my little marble soap dish with this cute little brush
that I've showed a few times I kind of take it in and out depending on the
season and just my overall mood but I love this thing I think it adds such a
cute cottagey look and like I said I've been adding a lot more pieces of marble
so this one it was really good you can find them at home goods for such a good
price I love creating a really pretty look for my island and usually I use
either real or faux flowers in that look and today I am going to use all faux
florals today but they look so realistic in my opinion the roses are from TJ Maxx
and you might remember I had them in my office for the last several months but I
thought they would look so pretty here with this new greenery I love the muted
color of the flowers and the greenery and how they looked against this basket
this canister set is my all-time favorite I think it is so beautiful I
did pick these up from Kirkland's so I will link them if they are still
available I cannot get over how pretty the new bar stools look it was so fun to
give this room a really simple refresh just by switching out the chairs and
adding some new rugs and decor I really go back and forth with it keeping this
ladder here sometimes I like it sometimes I want to switch it up in
place of it in my kitchen I'm using the baskets that I found at Hobby Lobby and
I think these will look so pretty with some fall florals kind of like streaming
out and down next up is this beautiful wooden vintage cabinet I took everything
off of it and everything out of it gave it a good clean and now I'm adding in
some new decor for the shelves I'm adding in my white pottery and some
linens just to soften the space it's so nice to be able to use this as storage
for my collection as well as being able to display them these are the mugs that
I found thrifting recently and I think they are just going to look so pretty
here for fall I think this is the first time that I've only put pottery pieces
in here and didn't mix in you know greenery and other you know small pieces
of decor but I love just the simple and functional look of it and the white
against the brown just really helps it pop okay friends thank you so much for
