This is Bryce, one of my best friends.
The only problem is, he doesn't even own a mountain bike.
Well, that all changes today.
I'm Evan, and this is Sad to Rad.
While I assemble this bike,
I'd like to thank this video's sponsor, Policy Genius.

Well, good news, these Tektro brakes didn't leak at all,
and I don't know what that oil was
on the bottom of the box, but these feel pretty good.
This is a 2022 Polygon Siskiyou T7,
and I'm giving it to my friend Bryce,
but he has no idea I'm giving it to him.
So Bryce lives in Las Vegas,
and there's so many trails out there,
and it's really a bummer
that he doesn't have a mountain bike.
So I reached out to Polygon,
and they agreed to send me this T7,
and I am really impressed with what I'm seeing here.
This is gonna be a great first bike for him
or pretty much anybody.
And man, hats off to Bikes Online for sending me this T7.
I was actually gonna buy it with my own money,
but they stepped up because they really care
about getting people out on the trail
with their amazing lineup of affordable bikes.
So if you wanna know more about this bike,
like all the components, do me a favor
and click the link in the description.
But what the plan is to keep this as a surprise for Bryce
is I'm gonna head to Vegas and tell him
that Polygon wants him to be my test rider,
but at the end of the ride,
I'm gonna tell him this bike is his.
But since I want this to be special for him,
I'm gonna do a few crucial upgrades,
starting with the pedals.
And I got him a set of Fooker pedals
because these are great budget options,
and they match the paint job so well.
But since he lives in the desert of Las Vegas,
there's a lot of cactus spikes out there,
so this needs to be tubeless.
But instead of converting these tubeless-ready V tires,
I've had these Versys tires laying around
since the Hi-Lo series,
and it was gonna go on the low bike.
These have a super cool yellow splatter pattern,
and they're actually pretty thick tires.
So I think this should be a great option
for a first-time rider,
so that way he doesn't have to worry
about choosing lines correctly and getting a pinch flat.
And to convert this to tubeless,
I just need some valves, some tape, and some sealant,
and I'm good to go.
This is super exciting to see.
These wheels come pre-taped for tubeless.
Oh, that is so nice.
Also, these V tires are tubeless,
and they're pretty thick,
so I really don't think the tire upgrade
was necessary at all.
But, dude, these yellow tires are so sick,
and this is sad to rad, right?
I already used this one once.
And just like that, the bike is ready.
All right, we made it to the trail.
Here's Bryce's.
And this is your test bike,
a 2022 Polygon Ciscu T7.
It's a 29-inch trail bike
with 140 millimeters front travel and 135 rear,
with boost through axles front and back.
A link will be in the description to get one for yourself,
or check out the full list of components and geometry.
So what do you think about the bike?
The most important thing, first looks.
I love it.
I've never seen tires like this.
I love the color.
The pedals match.
I match with my gloves and my jersey.
I'm excited.
All right, so pass the look test.
But before we go riding, what's the first thing we do?
Stretch?
No, we need to air up the shocks to about 30% sag.
So let's do it.
Get on it?
Yep.
Okay, stand on the pedals and get off slowly.
That's actually not bad.
Right on the money, didn't even need to air up anything.
Wow.
So now I'm gonna turn the rebound all the way
and go right in the middle.
All right, rebound right in the middle.
All right, so go ride around the parking lot a little bit.
Bounce around, see how it feels.
I don't know what it's supposed to feel like,
but it feels soft, like a rabbit.
So there's one last thing before we ride.
And it's the most important thing with a bike like this.
It's actually the clutch.
The clutch on the derailleur, on.
We're ready.
Let's do this.
Sweet.
All right, Bryce, we're at the top.
Be very careful.
This is the first time on this bike.
Here we go, Evan.
All right, be careful, Bryce.
I'll try not to slow you up too much.
Whoa, slow down.
You're pulling away from me.
Oh my goodness.
He sent it.
You sent it, dude.
Heck yeah.
Did I catch air?
How'd you learn how to ride, dude?
DMX, bro.
All right, let's keep going.
Woo, it's rocky.
Not much more hill.
Oh, yeah.
He still has no idea that I'm giving this bike.
He still thinks it's a bike review.
New line.
Well, Bryce, where are you going?
I thought it's an all-terrain vehicle.
You ride the whole mountain.
Woo, so many hills.
It'll be all right.
I'm not going up that hill.
Wait, where are you going?
Old mountain bike.
You can't do that.
Riding the whole trail.
Where you at, Evan?
That's illegal.
All right, we're back at the trailhead.
What do you think about the bike?
It's amazing.
I'm not used to full suspension.
I feel like it helps me stay planted on the ground,
like on the bumps going downhill.
I felt like I was glued to the trail.
And I felt like the shifting was nice.
I really enjoyed how I could push in
and I could skip like three gears to go down at a time.
Someone does a mountain bike.
I feel really confident on this bike.
Well, the bike stock is $2,200.
Do you think it's worth it?
100%.
I know your bike, your dentist's bike is super expensive,
but I don't feel like I'm missing anything on this bike.
It was great.
I have one more thing to say.
I reached out to Polygon to send me this bike,
but this bike is actually your bike.
To keep?
This is your bike.
Are you serious?
You're on an episode of Sad to Rad.
I really get to keep it?
Yeah.
Come on.
Thank you so much.
This is your new bike, dude.
I can't believe it.
How's this Sad to Rad though?
Because dude, you were sad.
You didn't even have a bike at all.
That's probably the biggest jump of Sad to Rad.
You can't beat that.
You're right.
All right, well, like, comment, subscribe.
Next time, it could be your bike.
Dude, is that one of those electric dirt bikes?
Let me ride that.
