And it's another gorgeous day down here in South Florida.
Welcome back, guys, to Boats vs. Haulover,
where man and machine take on mother nature
down at Haulover Inlet in Miami, Florida.
I'm your host, Broncos Guru,
in collaboration with our boy Wavy Boats
down at the inlet getting the images,
and these guys look like they're having a good time
coming through Haulover.
It's a little rough out today,
but let's see if everybody else has as much fun
coming through the inlet as this crew does.
Our first contestant, a new battle with Haulover Inlet,
is gonna show us what it's like
when you come rolling through Haulover, but it's party time.
We're getting closer to spring break,
and we're gonna start seeing a lot more
of this action down at the inlet.
These guys approached the inlet strong.
They came in a little fast, a little hard,
but slowed it down really quick, and now we see why.
They're not really out here to do battle with Haulover.
They're out here to have a good time.
But this crew has to understand
that we're here trying to run a contest,
and we have to judge this.
Now, typically, when I see a boat
come running out of Haulover fast
and then slow it down as soon as it gets into the chop,
I usually wanna give them a loss,
because that means Haulover did its job.
And it won as it put the brakes on the vessel,
but these guys are out there having such a good time.
I'm having a real tough time with this one.
But you know what?
I've gotta stick to my guns and stick to my principles,
and we're gonna give Haulover the win,
but I have a feeling that these guys aren't gonna care
because they're out there having such a good time.
It won't matter to them anyway.
It's gonna take us into our second round,
where we're gonna see a little whaler in action.
And typically, we always seem to catch these boats
coming out here and slaying Haulover.
Even though they're smaller in stature,
for whatever reason, these boats seem to fare well.
But are guys doing something a little different?
We don't usually see this method in these little whalers.
Our guy usually goes out there
and smacks his way right through it,
but this guy's slowed down, kinda like our first crew.
I really can't believe I'm gonna watch this
and sit here and take a loss on this.
Now, I know some of you are gonna question me on this,
but the tough part is I've gotta comp him
to what I've seen these other little whalers do,
kinda like the Blacktop Legend,
when he comes out here and just absolutely destroys Haulover.
It's really tough for me to go back
and look at these other images
of this little whaler coming through,
and then think about the Blacktop Legend
coming through doing this,
and try and decide to give the other person a win.
I'm gonna have to give this one to Haulover,
and Haulover really is gonna take a quick 2-0 lead
as we begin this episode.
Now, I know both of my decisions
in these first two rounds are gonna be questioned,
and if you disagree at all, or if you agree,
light it up in the comments and let me know.
Our contestant in the third round's gonna show us
that things are sometimes deceiving at Haulover.
It's always interesting to watch these images
as these boats come rolling through the inlet.
Like right here, it looks like this MTI's
kinda just cruising,
like a little bit of a nice, relaxing stroll.
But as they get closer,
and you watch them enter the mouth of the inlet,
this boat's actually flying.
These guys are really hauling tail
coming through the inlet,
and are easily gonna take a win
for the boats here in the third round.
Now, our fourth round contestant's
gonna come flying through Haulover as well,
but they're gonna come flying through Haulover fenders out.
This one's a little strange
because I'm imagining this boat's got some kind of crew on it
but for whatever reason, when the crew left the docks,
they decided they were not gonna take these fenders off.
But it doesn't matter.
We're not here to judge
whether the boat's got the fenders out or not.
We're here to judge how this vessel
handles going through Haulover.
And honestly, for a big boat,
this boat just came hauling tail through Haulover.
And you can see all the white caps offshore.
This is a rough day.
It's not a calm day,
and they look pretty solid doing it.
This fourth round will go to the boats as well.
And this will take us into our fifth and final round,
tied at two apiece.
Who will take the win this week?
Will it be the boats or Haulover Inlet?
And the boat's got a pretty unfair advantage here at the end
as we bring out the Beast,
one of the largest Midnight Expresses ever built.
As they come rolling through the inlet,
there's not a whole lot the inlet can do with this one.
I think we have seen the Beast lose one round,
but that one round, Haulover was firing,
and today it's just nowhere near that.
And the boats are gonna wind up taking this round,
thus taking the episode and taking the win this week.
Thanks for watching, guys.
I hope you enjoyed this episode of Boats vs. Haulover.
