This of course is a little bit of an ominous scene. This is the Blacktop Legend. He's notorious for
blasting his way through Haulover. When we see him coming through Haulover at this pace right here
though, that means it's a pretty nasty day out there. Welcome back guys to Boats vs. Haulover,
where man and machine take on Mother Nature down at Haulover Inlet, Miami, Florida.
I'm your host BroncosGuru, and in collaboration with our boy WavyBoats down at the inlet getting
the images, let's go ahead and get this contest started. Even though our Blacktop Legend decided
he was going to take it easy as he made his way into Haulover Inlet, our first contestant to do
battle with Haulover is not going to take that approach. Of course our contestant here in the
first round does have a huge advantage over the Blacktop Legend as they've got a little bit better
tool for the job than he was using. The vessel they're coming through Haulover in was designed
for long offshore runs and rough conditions at high speeds, and they are showing that off right
here. It really is wild to watch this as they come blasting through Haulover Inlet at this pace in
these conditions. These are some of the rougher conditions we've seen over the last few weeks.
This is basically the Haulover washing machine at its finest. You can tell here these guys are
and a little spray as Haulover throws its shots at this vessel, but these guys keep the hammer down
and keep the throttle going as they come punching their way through Haulover and will easily take a
win for the boats in this round. Usually on a rough day like today, boat traffic can be scary,
so it's kind of unique to see back to back speed boats come running through the inlet
like we're about to see right here, and this cigarette's not going to disappoint either.
These guys come barreling out of the inlet, throttle down on what is an extremely rough day,
and these guys are hauling tail. Things are not looking good for Haulover early as these
guys are going to take a win for the boats in this round as well, which puts Haulover down
two nothing early on a day when I thought Haulover was likely going to take an early win,
but with little boat traffic it's going to be interesting to see how this fares out.
But all of a sudden here comes the ringer. Is this it? The next contestant is going to be the
legend. Will Haulover go down early this week? Let's see how she battles this legend as he comes
rolling through Haulover Inlet. He's taking his traditional path of hugging the north side of the
inlet, which is typically the calmer side of the inlet. Here we can see him start to roll out,
and things are a little rougher offshore. He's still taking that slow, kind of easy approach,
but how will he fare? So far so good, and Haulover could be down for the count early,
which is unbelievable. Oh no! The red top legend takes a wave over the bow of the boat,
and Haulover throws a last second sucker punch to try and save itself and claw its way back into
this battle. We're going to go ahead and give this round to Haulover Inlet. In our fourth round,
we're going to see a what the heck moment, and that is taking a pontoon out of Haulover on this
day that we've seen already be such a rough day. I have no clue where these guys even think they
were going. They did come out of Haulover Inlet in a little 60 horsepower pontoon boat, but what
were they going to do offshore in these kind of conditions? I have no earthly clue. They wound up
taking one or two small waves over the bow. Nothing crazy fortunately happens to this boat, but things
could have gone bad pretty fast I would imagine out there in these kind of conditions with a small
vessel that's probably under horsepower for the type of conditions they're in as well. And of
course, this crew will go ahead and pull an infamous Haulover U-turn, but we're just glad
nothing bad happened, but Haulover takes the win in this round. That's going to take us into our
fifth and final round, tied it to a piece. Who will finish it out with the win this week? Will
it be the boats or Haulover Inlet? Our fifth contestant is going to play the waiting game.
This scout's sitting out here just outside of the inlet, kind of trying to pick their line and
decide which route they want to go while they wait for that perfect wave to come along that
they can climb up on the back of and ride it right into Haulover Inlet. This one I'm pretty torn on
guys. Here, nothing really all that eventful happens and they do successfully make it into
Haulover Inlet, but I do think this boat could have came through a whole lot faster than this,
probably really didn't need to sit out there and ride those waves around the way they did.
Let me know your thoughts on this one. Who do you think takes the win in this fifth round?
The boats or Haulover Inlet? Light it up in the comments below and I'll let you guys know who you
vote is the winner in the next episode and I'll highlight a few of you who vote in that next
