Good work, Minnie.
You guys are getting the really small stuff
that doesn't even matter, to be honest.
I need you guys to work on the big stuff.
Hey, farm fam!
Welcome back to my channel.
For those of you that are new,
welcome and welcome to today's video.
I'm so excited for this video, you guys.
I'm just so excited for this topic, I guess,
because you guys know that I've been talking
about wanting to clear the woods
because ultimately I wanted an arena.
And I know in the comments that has been a big
like talking point whenever I've talked about this
is no to keep the woods
because the horses like it, yada, yada, yada.
But we've decided that we are getting rid of the woods
because I really want an arena here at the property.
Honestly, I even just want more land,
whether or not like we do the arena here or not,
because we've been kind of discussing doing the arena
in a different spot of the property,
which I'll talk about another day because I'm not sure.
But as far as the woods, we have started to clear the woods.
So this is part one of clearing the woods for an arena.
So if you guys are excited for today's video, like I am,
make sure you go and give this video a big thumbs up.
Don't forget to subscribe to my channel down below.
Make sure you turn on those post notifications
so you don't miss any of these videos.
And of course, have a chance to my post notification
shout out.
All right, you guys, let me show you what we're doing.
I am so excited.
So the goats have been in the back pasture here,
which we're about to let them out right now.
But look at this.
This is like the first bit of what's going on.
Mike just came in here with the skid steer yesterday
and just tried to see the best plan of action.
We are gonna keep like the big pines like this right here.
So we're gonna keep those for now, see where that gets us.
But as far as these like overgrown,
like paper trees and stuff like that,
those are all going down.
So as you can see, that's how it started.
But what's interesting is this is a little pathway
and I'm gonna show you a bigger pathway
because the goats were really,
like let's say clearing some areas
for us to see into the woods.
So we were like, okay, this could be a good start
since the goats think it is.
Well, maybe we should think it is.
So over here is kind of like the biggest part, I guess,
of clearing from this side
that we can see right into the woods.
So we can see all the way into there.
Camera's not really picking it up
cause it's looking really dark in that hole,
but I can see like all the way to the back of the property.
Like there's light all the way back there.
And then all right here,
this is a good portion tucked away into there.
And then just right here,
cause this is where the goats
were just starting to eat a bit.
So we were able to like kind of see through it.
So as you guys could see right here,
cause a lot of that is taken out now,
but like this.
So they've eaten all the leaves off and stuff.
So now it's just getting down to like bare tree,
if that makes sense.
So we're able to see through it a little bit more.
So this is kind of the first path that he's taken
and we're just kind of developing our plan as we go.
But it already looks like really cool
because a lot of it is going to go pretty quick.
It's just getting to it
because the pepper bush is really just like wild
when it just goes out of control.
So once we kind of get through a lot of that
and then get these paper trees down,
we're really going to be able to see
a lot of what we got going.
We still don't know exact plan
of like how we're going to dispose of it all.
We usually, you know,
burn all of our debris and stuff like that
just because it gets rid of it.
We've talked about maybe digging a hole
and putting in the hole,
but we don't know yet
because we just need to see
how much debris is actually collected.
We've had a lot of different advice
on just to like make it in small piles
and burn the small piles,
put it in the middle, burn the middle,
but we don't know.
We're just kind of like starting.
So we'll come up with a plan as we go.
But Mike cleared the one area,
like on the fence line with my neighbor's fence
that we always show you guys like the donkeys through.
He cleared it so the side-by-side could fit this way.
So we're going to go there
because yesterday he popped the track off.
So we need to work on that really quick.
And then he's going to get the grapple
and we're going to continue on this journey.
So I'll show you guys really quick.
Before we could bring the side-by-side back here,
but we'd be getting like hit by everything.
Now it's really a nice open area here.
Mike's in the air.
Hello.
So here's on the other side
of what I was just showing you guys,
where it's like down in this area.
So just mini pathways everywhere.
But now this has to be fixed.
Yeah, Steph broke it.
Yeah, no, Mike broke it.
Mike is destructive.
All right, you guys.
Well, if you want a lesson on how to fix this.
Don't ask me.
All right, I'm going to have to put the camera down
so that we can work on this.
Cause you know, Mike can't do it without me
because I'm the one who knows how to fix tracks
on skid steers, you know?
Yeah, that's what it is.
That's exactly what it is.
All right.
Why don't you get in and start it up?
Show everyone how you know how to start it up.
I didn't say that.
I said, I know how to put the tracks back on.
I never said I knew how to turn it on.
That's weird.
You should know both.
No, I just need to know how to put the track back on.
All right.
Enough goofing around.
We have some land to clear for a what?
Arena.
No, Steph, actually you do have to get inside of it.
Okay. I don't even know how I'm going to get up here.
I'm too short.
Go ahead.
Get in.
Here we go.
Ooh, there's grease right there.
Yeah, don't touch the grease.
Okay.
Oh, this thing is so greasy.
Okay.
Forward is forward.
Backward is backwards.
So you're going to sit.
Okay.
Ouch.
Okay.
And then hit the green button twice.
Hold it second time.
Put the bar down.
I feel like I'm going in a roller coaster.
You know?
And then hit the parking brake button.
The P?
Now don't touch the right stick at all.
This?
None at all.
You want me to touch this?
No.
Okay.
The left one only.
This one?
Yeah.
Backward?
Yeah.
Okay.
The track is back on
and we are back in business to clear more.
Guys, I just missed it.
Aw, he dropped the tray.
But he just did a really good drop.
He's not using the grapple right now,
which was like the whole thing of getting the grapple
because it's like a claw.
But he just has to get something to fix it.
But anyways, the bucket is what we're using right now
just to kind of like plow it over.
He just got that whole like root out.
So that was awesome.
That's the leftover root.
Thought he was going to be able to take the whole tree out,
but I'm really excited.
I might time lapse it for you guys.
Bye-bye tree.
It's kind of raining in and out,
so this is quite fun.
The goats are going to love chomping on this later
because it's on the ground.
Fresh leaves on the ground.
Look at this, you guys.
It's like an open pocket.
I can literally see it's a little black claw back there,
but it's the cow, the neighbor's cow.
Now he's starting to work over here.
It's just looking so cool to see it.
Like, I know it doesn't look how it looks
in real life on camera.
It looks like we've done nothing.
But this right here,
just being able to see the pine trees is so cool.
I cannot wait to have it completely clear
in just the pine trees.
It's going to be awesome.
He's really going after this tree right here.
It's a pretty tall one.
One just fell a minute ago and it made a loud crack.
He's determined for this one.
And he's standing back.
Seems to be a bit of a match for the skid steer.
He's moved on to another tree.
There he goes.
He got that one down.
It's so cool.
We can just see pine trees, it's so awesome.
We haven't even been out here that long
and he's made really good progress, so it's pretty awesome.
Lots of trees are starting to pile on the ground.
These were like a set of like three big ones
of these like paper tree things.
And then another one over there.
And there's another line tree.
Lots of flying trees.
I need to make like a little fake jumping course over here.
Jump this tree and this tree and this tree.
And then run over here, jump this tree,
and then jump that tree.
I don't know.
So this is the end of our day one.
Standing as far back as I can go right this minute.
But we can like see right through there.
We are going to now release the goats
so they can do some work.
It's their time to put in some hard labor.
Hoping that they'll eat the leaves off here.
And a lot of those, so they're a little bit lighter.
And then tomorrow, we need to drag all this stuff off
and put it into our burn pile.
Let's release the goats.
All right, you guys, it's time to get to work.
There's lots for you guys.
Willie, no, wrong way.
There's lots for you guys to work on.
Come on, let's go.
Really quickly while we're letting the goats out,
I want you guys to see from this side.
So this is like the side that whenever we let the horses out
from behind the barn.
Look, get to work, hurry up.
They're like, what happened?
She's so skeptical right now.
How'd that get there?
Free food.
I know, Willie is ready.
Willie loves to eat the leaves.
I think more than Minnie does.
But anyways, like I was saying,
this is a really good view where you guys
can really see now.
I kind of stayed out of this angle while he was working
because I did not want to get hit by a tree.
So, look at them.
Such good little laborers.
Already getting to business.
Find the best one for you, Minnie.
Willie doesn't care.
Look at him.
That's right, good job.
This is exactly what I wanted them to do.
They are part of the clearing process.
Now we just need 40 more.
They're working so good.
Eat away, good job.
All right, they're only gonna probably be out here
for like two hours until it's their feeding time.
So, we'll see how much they can get done in two hours
before tomorrow when we start to move it.
So, you guys have two hours, get to work.
Minnie's leaving, she's looking for better stuff.
But Willie, you know, he knows the deal.
It all needs to get eaten, Willie.
It doesn't matter where you eat it from.
We might go take a walk in there.
The goats will probably follow us.
We're distracting them at this point.
But give you guys a little bit better
of a look at what day one consists of.
It's pretty cool.
Eat that one, Willie, go ahead.
Willie is like, this is awesome.
There's so many new leaves.
I don't know where to start.
Good job.
Yes, lots of things to climb on in here for now.
Yeah, huge.
It's three together.
Look, they join again.
Up top.
That's crazy.
Good work, Minnie.
You guys are getting the really small stuff
that doesn't even matter, to be honest.
I need you guys to work on the big stuff.
Anyways, let's keep on walking in here.
Much more open.
This just looks like a mess.
We really need the grapple to get in here to use the cloth.
Okay, Minnie.
You're wild.
Aggressive leaf eating.
Great.
They've been in their pen for most of the day
with pent up eating that needed to be done.
So this is a perfect plan
that we totally thought about.
Just kidding.
We didn't purposely keep them in their pen
so that they would come out and eat for us.
Minnie, such a cute girl.
We kept them in so that they wouldn't get hit by trees
because they are often in the way,
but it kind of worked out that they're very excited
to come out and eat the leaves.
We didn't want to freak them out too much.
Yeah, they're kind of security cats.
They probably wouldn't have got hit by a tree,
but-
You never know.
They're kind of, they have like pea brains sometimes.
They're kind of right into a tree to make us scared.
Yes.
I love her.
She is so funny.
She's just like running from,
well, I shouldn't say running,
but just jumping from stick to stick,
finding the better leaves,
but they're really all the same.
Willie is more calm and collected.
He finishes his branch and then he moves on to the next.
She, on the other hand, just jumps everywhere,
but that's all right.
Do as you must.
This was a big tree.
Look at the roots.
Look at the hole.
Yeah, that's pretty crazy.
Don't fall in there, Minnie.
It might eat you.
Just kidding.
So he's kind of stuck at this point
just because a lot of the stuff
actually needs to be taken out,
but look at that, a clear opening out to the pasture.
That's awesome.
Super cool.
It's really bright, you guys,
but it is day officially two
of working on my arena.
Well, getting it started to become an arena,
which the first steps, as you guys know,
are clearing the back.
So we're gonna go hard today with this.
And well, I should say we, Mike,
can get a lot of this cleared.
So this is what it's looking like so far, you guys.
So much has changed.
Now we see most of just the pine trees.
We've gathered three piles of like broken down paper trees.
There's one pile, two pile, and then third pile.
This is where we're burning.
This is where our normal fire burning pit is.
So we'll just keep taking from here and there,
and it'll put them there gradually
so it's not like a huge fire.
And we'll just keep feeding the fire with these piles.
As Mike continues to clear more area in there,
it's really coming together, you guys.
We see so much of inside these woods right now.
It's so awesome.
I'm hanging out with my little goat gang.
There's not really much I can do right now
because it just requires the skid steer,
and that's what Mike's doing.
But here's what it looks like from this side.
Really coming along, you guys.
I wish you guys could see it in person.
It's just like so different in person
that I feel like the camera can't even focus on
because we can actually see right through
and where the woods were, so pretty cool.
This is how it looks.
So all of this was completely covered
before we could never see inside of it
unless we went inside of it.
Minnie's right there.
You can see her, clear as day.
So it looks really good.
Almost like all the trees right here are out
that are everything but pine trees,
except that big tree, that's not a pine tree right there,
but that's a big tree.
But it's getting really clear.
The goats are helping out.
Our pile has gotten a lot bigger,
and then we've still been burning this pile,
which is slowly, slowly burning.
Anyways, let's walk in here and see how it looks.
Minnie, what do you think?
She's picking up the scraps, huh?
So crazy.
We just remember right here,
Blaze got stuck in this vicinity
when the woods were all here.
So about, I would say like half of the woods
has gone like within here to there,
but we'll see.
We'll go in there and see kind of what's left.
Okay, so I'm on the like side right here.
We're walking it this way, but there's the barn.
And then I want to say like, yeah, to like right here.
Obviously this little span right here,
this is kind of like, let's call it the fence line
because the fence line is already clear,
but let's call it the current existing fence line
of trees that's not down.
But this little hole right here,
all of this is cleared for now.
And then I'm gonna show you what's left.
It's really not that much.
So let's walk down.
And this is all heavily wooded still.
So he hasn't gotten into here yet.
So as you guys can see all of these branches
and stuff all over here.
So all this is what's left, but it's really not much.
And then I think we'll stop like right before
this like creek thing that we have.
And then we'll leave all this
just so we can still have like privacy.
So that's what I think.
All right, you guys, well, there you have it.
I am hot and sweaty now.
I've just been moving a bunch of stuff into the fire pit
and just kind of helping out where I needed to be.
But with that being said,
this ends part one of clearing our woods to build my arena.
And I wanna call it my dream arena
just because like I know that this arena
is probably not anything huge to anybody,
but for me to even be able to have the opportunity
to have an arena at my house is like super big for me.
So I'm so excited and I cannot wait for this.
So if you guys are excited to be on this journey with me,
if you guys are excited to see our arena come to fruition,
