Thank you to Skillshare for sponsoring.
More on them at the end of the video.
I'm sharing two days of intermittent fasting,
what I eat in a day, in today's video.
Hello everyone, Jennifer here,
and welcome back to The Daily Connoisseur.
So I have a new intermittent fasting,
what I eat in a day video for you.
And the theme for today's video is crazy mixed up schedule.
So you're going to see that in both days that I show,
I have a very unusual schedule
and how I adapt with my intermittent fasting plan.
I do the 16-8 method of intermittent fasting.
I'm pretty regular with my fasting routine,
but this summer I traveled in Europe
and that changed it a lot.
And now I'm back and my schedule has also changed.
As a side note, you're going to mention on the first day
that I'm at the hospital cafeteria.
The reason why is that day I was visiting my dad there.
For all of you who are praying for my dad,
he is doing so much better.
He is making a miraculous recovery.
So I want to thank you so much for your prayers.
All right, without further ado, let's get into day one.
Good morning, everyone.
Today I'm having cottage cheese
with a tiny sprinkling of sugar.
I felt like some sweetness today.
And I have some mango, white peach, raspberry and almonds
and coffee with cream.
So that's breakfast today.
I love the combination of cottage cheese
and the protein that it gives.
You either like cottage cheese or you don't,
but I'm one of those people that does like it.
So that's what's for breakfast today.
Okay, so I'm switching to voiceover
because I had to have lunch at a hospital cafeteria today.
And so I had a tuna melt on whole wheat bread with a pickle
with some baked barbecue chips on the side.
And then I knew that this day
I would not be having tea time.
So I improvised a bit and I'm having a sweet tea,
which I do enjoy every now and then.
And one of those rice crispy treats.
And that's what I had for lunch that day.
Hi everyone, it's just past five o'clock
and I'm finally home.
Today I'm having a ready-made chicken no cheese soup,
gnocchi soup, I guess I should say.
And I added a bunch of handfuls of spinach to it.
So it looks really good.
It's like a nutrient dense soup.
And I'm going through a pretty stressful time
in my life right now.
So it's important that I get a lot of nutrients in my food.
And I am kind of going for these comfort foods.
I fried a corn tortilla and I'm just having that
on the side with some salt and some water.
So this is what is for dinner tonight.
It's full of vegetables
and that's all I'm going to have tonight.
So I will see you next time.
Okay, I think the theme for this video
will be strange schedules.
Because if you watch my other what I eat in a day videos,
I am very regular.
I am like 9 a.m. breakfast, 12 noon lunch,
two o'clock tea time, five o'clock dinner.
And lately my schedule has just really changed a lot.
I don't anticipate it being like this forever,
but right now it is like this.
And again, I think this is going to be helpful
for a lot of you who have schedules that change
and shift or odd schedules.
So anyway, here we go.
It is 10.30 in the morning.
I have not had anything to eat yet
because I was making this.
This is a bacon, shallot, asparagus quiche.
And I was making this for another video
that I'm doing on breakfast casseroles.
So, you know, I was making it this morning
and it just took longer than I thought
because I kept getting interrupted.
So that's why I'm eating it now at 10.30.
And I knew, you know, I could have had a smoothie
or something, but I knew this was coming.
So it's like, if you know you have a big brunch coming,
you might not necessarily want to eat breakfast
because you want to save your appetite for the brunch, right?
That's kind of my thought with this.
So I am having a brunch of sorts.
I know I'm having it with a salad, which is kind of strange.
I really like having a simple dress salad with a quiche,
even if it is in the morning.
So this is spinach and avocado with lemon juice,
olive oil, salt and pepper.
The quiche itself is so delicious.
It has bacon.
It has asparagus, shallot, sun-dried tomato,
Monterey Jack cheese.
It's really, really good.
So that's what I'm having.
It's at 10.30.
So this is going to alter my schedule a little bit.
I'm obviously not going to be hungry at noon for lunch.
Probably have an earlier tea time
and I have something very special for tea time today.
And I'll probably have that around one o'clock
if my schedule allows.
And then I do already know what I'm having for dinner.
So that's the schedule today.
It's just going to be a bit different.
I still have my coffee from earlier in the morning
and that's what I'm going to be having right now.
All right, I'll see you at tea time.
Good afternoon, it's one o'clock
and it's glorious tea time today on this odd day.
And you just saw that I made tea time for everybody.
So everybody's having strawberry shortcake,
simple little shortcakes with whipped cream and strawberries.
And the tea that I'm having is the Peak Earl Grey
with a slice of lemon.
Nice and refreshing.
It's still quite hot outside.
I know it's fall, but it feels like summer here.
And then I like to share what I read at tea time.
And this I'm revisiting
because I went to see the Beatrix Potter exhibit
at the VNA this summer in England.
And this is by Amy M. O'Quinn
and she is a viewer of the Daily Connoisseur,
but she just had this published.
And it's a wonderful, very readable biography
of Beatrix Potter.
It talks about her life and interests.
And I am studying Beatrix for various reasons,
but anyway, it's a great book.
So I recommend Amy's book.
All right, I'm really looking forward to tea time today
and I will see you at dinner.
Okay, so oddly enough,
the late breakfast today worked with my schedule
because I just got back from visiting my dad.
And by the way, it was the most wonderful visit.
He is recovering from his accident so well,
like just exceeding expectations.
And I feel so happy right now, honestly,
but I got back late.
So Ben watched the kids while I went to go see my dad
and he already fed them.
They're used to my early bird special, I guess at five.
So right now it's just after 6.30.
And so I'm having lasagna
and then I have some steamed vegetables here,
broccoli, cauliflower, carrots,
and I squeezed some lemon juice on top with salt and pepper.
So I am having dinner alone.
They already ate.
But this later dinner, 6.30,
actually works with the 16.8
because my breakfast was at 10.30 and I didn't plan that.
I had planned to be home by five,
but I ended up staying later.
I'm drinking the detox fountain from Peak
and that just has electrolytes.
It has hyaluronic acid and ceramides and that type of thing.
It's like a beauty elixir.
So I like the way it tastes.
So sometimes I have that in my water and this is dinner.
The piece of lasagna is rather large.
Don't know if I'll eat all of this,
but I'm really looking forward to this meal.
And that's it after this, just some herbal tea, maybe water.
And that was it.
So I hope you enjoyed this.
I hope you enjoyed today's video
and that it showed you how I adapt
my intermittent fasting schedule
to my changing circumstances.
So the first day I didn't have tea time like I normally did
and I adapted in that way.
The second day I had a really late breakfast,
but then ended up having a late dinner.
So it worked out.
Also important to note
that a lot of the food I didn't make myself,
that's important to note
when you're going through a busy time in your life,
you're going to rely on ready-made food
or takeout or things like that.
I did make the quiche myself and of course the breakfast,
the cottage cheese breakfast,
but everything else was either ready-made
or something that I added to with my own recipe.
So I like to adapt in that way.
And that is how I adapt in a busy changing season of my life.
And now a word from our sponsor, which is Skillshare.
Skillshare is an online learning community

As you can see here,
they have classes on a wide variety of subjects,
including photography, illustration, fine art,
and even lifestyle classes.
We love using Skillshare as a supplement in our homeschool.
So we've used their watercolor tutorials,
we've used their chess tutorials,
and now the girls are interested
in using Procreate on their iPads.
So I found this amazing class,
it's called Intro to Procreate,
illustrating on the iPad,
which has several exciting tutorials
on how to use the program.
So every class that we have taken on Skillshare
has enriched us greatly.
