Last Winter, we did a 2 night weekend overland trip near Mt. Rainier, Washington. There were some issues on this trip we had to resolve, as well as note for the future.
Enjoy the video.

good morning everyone welcome back so this weekend we're doing a little group
outing a little overland trip out here in the forest in Washington as you can
see we woke up to some rain slash sleet overnight it got pretty cold
anticipating more snow than sleet and rain because we are going to climb an elevation
by about 2,000 feet right now we're around 3,000 an elevation and we're going to head up to about
a little over 4,000 so definitely we're going to encounter some snow so i prepared for that
i'm anticipating tonight when we go to bed it's probably going to be pretty chilly so
of course as you guys know i have my preparations for that as well but for right now we're gonna
finish our breakfast and then we're gonna head out and go to high elevation and explore the
trails and see what we encounter so come along for the ride on the way up we came across a section
of the trail where nate could test out the snow capability of his rig so before crossing this
little stream we reached out for our imaginary popcorn and watched nate and his disco do their
thing as a disclaimer nate's disco is currently on mud train tires although they are not snow rated
and not recommended for hard pack snow or ice the trail we were on at the time had more loose
packed snow and as you can see some muddy sections as well nate has plenty of experience navigating
around this type of terrain so he was just having a little fun ideally in most situations all-terrain
tires with three peak mount snowflake symbol would be the better alternative for year-round use
including the snow but as i said before nate has plenty of experience in this type of environment
so he was able to get through these trails without any issues
my way my way give it gas good job piece of cake
all right guys so we made it to camp as you can see we got a little setup going on where between
two rigs we got a tarp set up thanks to dave bringing that part for us eventually we have
planned 270 awnings to put on the side and this is especially in weather like this on the pacific
northwest where it's raining or sleeting or snowing it would be a valuable tool and a piece of gear
but the tarp does definitely help shelter us from the rain that's coming down or the sleet
we get to enjoy a nice fire right beside it and enjoy each other's company and just hang out
the temps were around 35 degrees when we got to camp i think overnight it's probably going to
dip a little bit more for sure it's going to kind of curious to see how the roads are going to be
like there were some kind of sketchy areas coming down here i almost did slide off the path down the
side and luckily i had dave spotting me through that section but right now we're just going to
get some food going too and just chill hang out maybe cut some more wood for that fire going on
and just enjoy the rest of the night
all right nate raw almost packed up about to head out what are you expecting from this trail what
do you think of the conditions right now we've got a really big up and then we have a really big down
and if it stays crunchy we get up there fast enough it's not gonna be that big of a deal
but uh if the sun hits it for too long and it starts to get slick again we'll be using we'll
definitely be pulling cable uh we'll just have to see and we'll if we have to just keep airing down
lower and lower and lower that's what we'll do because we got to get traction somehow yep it's
challenging but not impossible right challenging but not i haven't not made it home yet all right
nate so what's the plan here this rock is heavy for us to move but very light for us to move with
rigs so we're gonna open this up a little bit for you bigger bodied vehicles we appreciate you nate
hey no problem man oh yeah good thing we didn't air back up right yeah seriously
uh well dude it's crazy because you can see asphalt under all that
yeah there's other little like fingers on the map that kind of go around let's see
if maybe there's a better option before we decide to go all the way back to marinier
we made it buddy dude what an adventure yeah thanks for inviting us out again dude
we need to do so many more of these yeah i could do this every weekend glad we made it through that
one washed out road with the downed trees that was a challenge but you know yeah i'm glad we decided
not to just start cutting because i was halfway to suggesting that i knew we had two saws like
maybe we just start cutting trees out of the way but then that could be an all day all week affair
depending on the well i think you got lucky because uh dave went down the road and uh kind
of checked to make sure it wasn't washed out or anything like that and it was and it was there's
a reason for no more activity it's still a beautiful drive on the other way we discovered
i agree and this is not too far i mean it's only like an hour or so from where i live so it's like
i'm gonna come out and discover this place more yes this is what the whole point is you know
i mean they're not ready you know yeah all right guys so that's the end of this adventure
plenty more to come i look forward to hanging out with these guys again
nate is practically my neighbor out here so you'll see a lot more of him definitely check
out his channel i'm sure you already know both of the daves david and dave thank you for yeah
thanks for the invite guys yeah it was great meeting you guys until next time guys
