It's about to fall.
I love that you can see my snacks hiding in the background.
Woo!
Ah!
Hi friends!
Welcome back to another video.
Today I'm going to be doing another color challenge.
I'm going to be eating millennial pink for the whole day.
This was actually recommended to me by one of you in the comments of my last video where
I ate blue for the whole day, and I love this idea.
I love pink.
I actually didn't really prepare too well for this one, so I wish I had kind of gone
grocery shopping like I did for my last few challenges, but I think I have enough things
to kind of make it work.
I have some beets in the fridge, which are key to making some pink food, and other than
that, I'm just kind of going to wing it, which I feel like is what always happens and makes
it more of a challenge.
We'll see how it goes.
I hope you guys enjoy this video.
As you probably know, if you follow me on Instagram, I'm a huge fan of pink.
It's one of my favorite colors to put in my food all the time, so let's get into the video.
So I'm starting off my day with this pink milk or pink latte.
I have a video that I put on my channel making this, and it's basically the same milk.
It's from my rainbow milk recipe video, so I'm going to use this as a base for a pink
milk latte, and then I'm also going to use it probably to make a smoothie bowl, and that'll
be breakfast.
I know I use smoothie bowls a lot, but they're my favorite to do, so.
Pink it is.
And look at that froth from the blender.
I'm going to top this with a couple things just to kind of garnish it, and then we'll
move on to making a smoothie bowl.
Here she is, just like a little strawberry latte, kind of tastes like strawberry milk
to me.
Onto the smoothie, I just have some bananas here.
I'm going to keep it mostly banana-based because I don't want to ruin the color too much.
I was debating putting in some protein powder as well to help with the texture, but I think
I'm going to go all banana, and then I'm just going to add small amounts of the leftover
pink liquid that I have, maybe some strawberries, and as you can see, I did not clean the blender
because what I'm making is going to be the same thing anyway, so let's go blend and hope
for the best.
It doesn't look as pink on camera.
Now I'm going to use a little pink chia pudding and just use that as a topping, and then probably
some coconut flakes and some raspberries as well.
So here's the final result.
I wish it looked more pink like it did in real life.
I'll put a picture from my camera because I think my camera picks up better color than
my vlogging camera does.
I did add a couple of yellow pieces, but for the most part, it's pink, so I think this
is a pass, and this is about to melt, so I'm going to go eat that.
And I forgot to tell you, basically it's strawberry and ice cream, chia seed pudding, some edible
pansy petals, rose petals, some pink Benjamin Button petals, and then toasted coconut, and
that's it.
So for lunch, I'm thinking I'm going to make something savory, and I kind of want to try
and make this white bean dip that my friend made for me a couple months ago that I loved,
and I think I'm going to try to make it pink by adding some beets.
I have fresh beets in the fridge.
I'm just going to put it in a blender, basically, and blend it up.
It's kind of like hummus, but using white beans, and the color is so neutral that it
should be able to pick up the pink very easily, so I might just have that with some chips.
I actually did pick up some pink Himalayan salt chips that are made with red rice, and
they kind of look pink as well, and I kind of might just have a snacky lunch because
I'm actually not too hungry.
I'm not moving much at all today.
I've just been working at my desk, so I haven't really built up any real hunger for lunch
yet, and then last night I also had a gigantic dinner because I went to an event, so I'm
just going to kind of have like a snacky lunch, and then maybe another smoothie later
if I feel like it's not enough food until dinner, so yeah.
Let's try to make this white dip.
I mean pink dip.
Turns out I only have garbanzo beans, and I'm a little sad because I initially wanted
to make chickpea hummus, like regular hummus, with garbanzo beans, then for some reason
I thought I only had white beans.
At first I was kind of bummed, but then I warmed up to the idea of having white beans
because I thought that they'd be smoother and easier to pick up pink color, and then
I went to my cabinet and it turns out I only have garbanzo beans.
So now I'm kind of sad again that I only have garbanzo beans.
So just going to be a regular pink hummus, not a white bean dip anymore.
Here are the other ingredients.
We have some tahini, garlic, black pepper, a beet, paprika, pink Himalayan salt, and
here we have some cumin.
I lost the top to it, so I didn't lay it down.
Just throw things in the blender and see how it goes, you know?
And now we blend.
So here's the consistency of the hummus so far.
I haven't added any of the beet yet, but I'm going to do that now.
I also added a little bit of nutritional yeast just to give it a little bit more savory flavor.
I know that's not traditional, but neither is pink food, so.
There we have it.
Not so bad.
Pretty pink.
And then I'm going to serve this in a little dish, put that in this little bowl right here,
and then serve that with some pink chips.
They're kind of pink because they're made with red rice and quinoa, but of course since
we're doing pink, I might as well, oops, and look at that, my hands are now also pink.
We have our pink hummus ready to go.
I'm going to top this with maybe a little bit of everything bagel seasoning and some
flower petals, because you know how I do, and that'll be my snacky lunch.
All dressed up, I just topped it with some watermelon radish and some everything bagel
seasoning and a couple of edible pansy petals.
Fail on the chips, but you know, we did pretty good with the hummus, right?
Wow, that's really, really good.
I'm giving myself an A+.
So I have some purple cabbage here.
Ignore this.
If you recall from my blue video, I talked a little bit about how the pH changes the
color of the cabbage, so based on like acidity level, it changes color.
And we can make blue pudding cabbage with a little bit of baking soda.
So what I'm going to do is I'm going to saute this and then add lemon, which is going to
turn it pink.
So we have some purple cabbage here cooking with a little bit of water, steaming.
And I just added a little water to help it along a little more, and you can see it's
kind of releasing some purpley liquid.
And I might add just a little bit more water, just so I can make some pink liquid for other
things as well.
Okay, now that we have our true purple, I'm going to add just the smallest amount of lemon
juice, which you'll see is going to create a reaction and make pink.
And there you go, we have some pink cabbage now.
I don't know what else I'm going to put this with.
Maybe some pink quinoa or pink rice.
All right, we're doing it.
All right, we're doing leftover cabbage water, lovely name, and some tempeh, and I'm just
going to do it like this.
You can't really add most things because they'll change the pH and the acidity of the cabbage
water.
So what I've been doing, and I did this in the last video as well, is I'll put the seasoning
on afterwards.
But I'll cook it like this first, and then I'll add the seasonings on later before I
eat it.
I'm going to be totally honest with you, this does not look that great.
I mean, this is a true millennial pink.
It almost looks like salmon, but this kind of turned back into a purple.
I think I either waited too long or didn't add enough lemon.
I'm going to add these little watermelon radish, and then maybe some pink hummus.
So this is what we're working with.
This is dinner.
I wouldn't say it's completely a fail, but I wouldn't say it's a success either.
I just think I've done pretty okay the rest of the meals and the rest of the day.
So we're just going to have to call it at this.
I just garnished it with some extra watermelon radish, some beet hummus from earlier, the
cabbage, we have the quinoa, and then I added a little flour because why not?
And that's pretty much going to be dinner.
All right, so that is everything that I ate today.
I hope you guys enjoyed this video.
I would love to hear what your favorite pink food is, and let me know if there are any
other colors that you want to see me eat.
I know I got some comments in my last video saying things like gold and silver foods,
which I don't know where I'm going to get those naturally, but if I figure it out, those
will be the next.
