Morning guys, welcome back to another video. Today I'm going to be filming a what I eat in a day, but in the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, I thought I would eat only green food for the entire day.
So every single meal, everything I eat is going to hopefully be green, and I haven't planned anything out in advance, so I feel like I'm going to end up having so many ideas by the end of the day.
But let's just see how this goes. I hope you enjoy this video, and you can give me a little pinch through the screen because I actually don't own any green clothing.
I tried to see what I had, and I really only had a bikini and one sports bra, so I figured I'd probably be better off wearing real clothes.
Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the video, and I will see you at the end of the day.
I'm going to start my day off with a matcha latte, and to do this I usually just take Matcha Maiden, which is one of my favorite matcha brands.
I'm pretty picky about matcha, so I really love theirs.
And then I also like to add in a little bit of matcha powder, because why not make it a little adaptogenic?
Just a little teaspoon. You don't really taste it at all, though it does have a nice flavor in my opinion.
Then I like to add some vanilla bean. I like to scrape real vanilla bean in. I think it has such a stronger flavor, and it's really, really nice.
Just kind of give it some natural sweetness. There's no actual sweetness in vanilla bean, but I think you kind of know what I mean.
And then sometimes I like to add this green powder. This is the Belly Elixir in particular, so it has a lot of things that are great for your stomach and gut health.
And it has adaptogens in here as well, and also a serving of greens. I believe it's a serving, at least. Maybe more.
But yeah, I love amazing grass products. It's a great way to get in some greens, just to drinks, and anything you're making, just toss it in.
And then for the milk base, I like to use Ripple Unsweetened as my favorite. You can also use the vanilla one.
I like this one because it doesn't have any added sugar, and it has such a creamy, thick texture.
So what I'm going to do now is just add everything into the blender.
And with the Vitamix that I'm using, you don't really need to heat anything up, because things get heated up in here because the blender is so powerful.
So if you let it blend for long enough, it starts to heat up itself.
So yeah, I'm using cold milk, maca powder, a little bit of matcha powder, vanilla bean.
I might add a pinch of cinnamon. I don't have any coconut butter left.
Otherwise, I would add about a teaspoon, but I don't have any on me.
But honestly, Ripple is so creamy that I don't usually need to add it anyway.
So I'm going to add that in here and blend.
You can also use a blender bottle, like a protein blender bottle.
I'm just going to pour that in here.
Looks like I made a little too much.
But that's it. That's going to be my matcha to start the morning.
And then I'm going to make breakfast right after this.
I'll probably have a smoothie because I just came back from SoulCycle.
So I'm going to take some photos of this because blog life.
And then I will see you guys when I make my smoothie.
Just wanted to give you guys a sneak peek at how I shoot.
I actually added a little bit of extra matcha powder on top just for some garnish.
I'll probably mix it in before I actually drink it, though.
So I pulled a little leaf from my monstera plant onto the corner of the surface that I shoot on.
And then I added some crystals in here just for a nice touch.
The only green crystal I really have is this green piece here because, I don't know,
green never really resonates with me as far as my chakras and when it comes to crystals.
But that's it. I'm going to drink this and I will see you guys.
When did I say I was going to see you guys again?
Oh, yeah. Well, I'll see you guys when I make my smoothie.
So now we're going to make a smoothie and I'm just going to use the same blender.
I didn't even wash it. I even have some leftover like matcha in there, but I figure it's fine.
It's green, so it counts.
I'm just going to put in about one frozen banana and then I'm going to use this ripple again as my liquid.
And then I'm going to let you guys in on a little secret.
But when I make smoothies for Instagram, typically I like to make them very pastel.
If you're familiar and you follow me on Instagram, then you kind of know.
So I'm going to use kale, but I'm going to use a really small amount at first.
Take a photo and then usually what I do is, and this is some behind the scenes secret,
I throw everything back into the blender and then I add what I would really add.
So I'd add like way more greens.
I'd add, you know, things that would make the color not so lovely.
And yeah, that's my little secret.
So I'm also going to add some cinnamon to this.
And then I'm also going to add some vanilla protein powder.
This is the one from Amazing Grass.
That is my protein brand of choice, as you guys know.
I like to add protein powder because it gives it like a little bit of a fluffy texture.
And it's really great for smoothie bowls in particular.
So if I'm shooting a smoothie bowl photo, I will almost always add protein powder.
And so that's another little food styling trick for you guys in case you were curious.
But otherwise I would add something more natural like hemp seeds
or I would just make it without protein powder because I don't always put protein powder in my smoothies.
So yeah, now I'm just talking a lot.
But let's get out.
So yeah, let's do this.
And I'm going to just toss everything into the blender.
It's a little difficult with one hand.
But I will see you guys when it's done.
Add a little bit of the Spirulina.
It's the brain on formula from E3 Live.
E3 Live is the brand I use because they're the most potent and I believe the most natural and high quality.
But they are very expensive.
So I'm not telling you like go out and buy.
You don't need to use E3, but I think their stuff is probably the best out there.
But this is like a blend that's supposed to support like your brain function, increase focus.
I think it works.
I have a friend of mine actually who swears by it.
She's a business owner and she's constantly stressed.
And she says that it really made a difference for her.
But it's got a really nice green, almost turquoise-y color.
And it actually sparkles when you spread it on like on top of a drink for example.
But I'm just going to add a little bit of this.
Cheers.
I just spilled some of the brain on on the outside.
And I just wanted to show you because it's kind of showing up how it's like sort of metallic-y.
I don't know if it's going to really show well on camera.
But I think you can kind of see it.
It's sort of got this like glittery sheen.
Yeah, it's always really fun to play with.
But anyway, that's it for breakfast.
I'll see you guys at lunch.
This is what I'm going to be using for lunch.
It has 24 grams of protein per serving.
It's green, most importantly.
And yeah, it's pretty incredible macros.
Really good ingredients as you can see.
It's one ingredient.
Organic edamame beans.
And it comes out like spaghetti noodles.
I feel like it comes out more like Asian-style noodles, not like spaghetti as much.
But I'm going to use this to make something.
I don't know what yet exactly, but this is happening.
So let's do it.
So here is the final product.
I hope it looks green enough.
The noodles are green.
They're just looking kind of yellow and brownish right now.
But it's just this edamame spaghetti or edamame noodles sautéed with coconut aminos and garlic.
I know garlic is not green, but neither is coconut aminos.
But the bottle of the coconut aminos kind of was.
And then kale and peas.
I would have added carrots and stuff, but since none of it's green, I almost had to remind myself not to add it.
And it was really funny.
It was difficult to remember.
So that's going to be my green lunch.
And then trying to brainstorm something a little bit more creative for dinner.
But I honestly don't know.
So I guess we'll have to stay tuned.
I always feel like noodles look like a beard.
So I kind of want a snack.
And I sort of want something that's not a vegetable because I feel like having a green veggie snack is really easy.
But I realized I had this from Expo.
It's the Crunchamame.
And it's kind of like hippies, but made from edamame.
So like edamame puffs.
And this is just the nearly naked one.
And I believe they're green in color.
So that counts, right?
I hope so.
Because I'm about to eat them.
Oh, how cute is this?
They're actually mustache shaped.
And I don't know what it is about edamame, but it kind of seems like everything is green, but off-green.
Sort of green and yellow.
So I hope this counts, but I'm going to eat this as a snack.
And I just can't get over the mustache shape.
It's so, so cute.
They're really, really yummy, by the way.
In case you were wondering.
Highly recommend.
And I think they have a decent amount of protein, too.
Oh, six grams.
So yeah, pretty decent.
And they're really yummy.
So for dinner, I decided I was going to make something a little different.
And I was thinking a really good idea would have been to have spinach tortilla wraps.
So I could use them to make something.
But I just went to Whole Foods and completely forgot to pick up spinach wraps.
So instead, I thought, why don't I make something kind of green, but still satiating.
Something a little bit more hearty than a salad.
And I thought I would make some spinach falafel.
So just like chickpea balls, you know, with spinach to make it green.
So I hope that counts.
Because I don't think we're doing literally only foods that aren't green, right?
I feel like it counts if I put enough spinach in it to make it a little bit more sustaining as a food.
I'm going to use my friend's recipe, The Tasty K.
She's my girl from Thailand.
You remember her probably from the vlogs if you guys watched those.
She eats very similarly to me.
Pretty much oil-free, gluten-free, vegan for the most part.
And we both love our dessert.
So we just have a very similar taste and palate.
And so I think that her recipe is going to be perfect.
She does have an ebook, by the way.
So if you guys want to buy it, definitely do.
I'll try and link it below if I remember.
But yeah, I'm going to make her recipe today.
And then I'm going to probably put it on a salad of some kind.
Because I don't have any spinach tortillas, sadly.
So unless I figure something else out.
Like some way to make some quinoa green or something like that.
That's what it's going to be for dinner.
But at least we've got the carbs from the falafel and things like that.
A little bit of protein.
So I'm going to make that.
And that's pretty much it.
Just going to use my Vitamix for this.
And if you have a food processor, you can totally do that too.
But yeah.
I'm actually really happy that I went to Whole Foods today.
Because I picked out my favorite no-salt-added beans.
They have these canned varieties in non-BPA lining.
And they always have these no-salt-added varieties.
Which are really great.
Especially for baking.
Actually, I use these in my chickpea cookie dough video.
Which is one of my most popular videos.
If you guys want to watch that one, I'll also leave a link to that.
But this is the way to go.
If you want to put them into anything sweet.
Because you don't taste the beans as much.
Unless you like sweet and salty.
Which I do.
So honestly, I don't mind.
But I just prefer to keep it low sodium when I can.
So I'm going to do this.
And make some falafel.
As I was making these chickpea balls.
These falafel balls.
I had a really good idea to toss them in these chickpea crumb.
The only ingredients in this are actually chickpeas.
So it's like a gluten-free alternative to breadcrumbs.
And it's high protein.
And I figured I would coat them in this.
Because this mixture became a little bit more moist than it's supposed to be.
Because I used frozen spinach.
Which released a lot of water.
So I'm going to just coat them in this crumb.
Plus some salt, pepper, paprika, and maybe a little bit of garlic powder.
And then I'm going to put them in the oven.
Okay.
It turned out really, really well.
It is actually green.
I promise.
I'm going to bite into it to prove it to you.
Because I know it looks a little bit yellow.
Because I put the crust on it.
But if you bite inside, it's actually still quite green.
You can see the spinach chunks.
And then I added an avocado, a lime.
And I kind of cheated with the sesame seeds and the flowers.
But I just couldn't not do it, you know.
I'm just going to eat this.
And that's everything for today.
So it's now the next day.
I just plated the same dish again.
Because I remembered I had pistachios.
Which are also kind of yellowy green.
So in my mind, they're green.
But I just kind of made the same salad.
Because I really enjoyed it.
And that's what I'm going to have for lunch today.
And I figured I would shoot some photos of it in this daylight.
Because it was pretty dark last night.
And the photos didn't come out very well.
So I just kind of redid it.
Although, I added tahini today and realized that that wasn't really green green.
But it's the next day.
So this is just for the photo.
I'm not cheating.
So that was everything that I ate today.
It was a little bit of a challenge, I will say that.
Because a lot of the foods I realized were just greens and veggies.
And after a while, I was like, man, I just really want some carbs or grains.
And I didn't want to take the easy way out.
And dye all my food with spirulina or other green foods.
So hopefully, I pass with flying colors.
Or a color.
The color being green.
But I hope you enjoyed this video.
And I want to know what your favorite green food is.
So let me know in the comments below.
Hope you enjoyed it.
And I will see you in another one very very soon.
Bye.
I'm scared.
