howdy guys kirk and jay here with kirk giordano plastering i'm gonna show you guys is since
we're already here though we're doing some cement work the homeowner said hey gee kirk can you put
some uh stucco in there i said yes i can but i don't think you want us to do that because
this house is separating it's a stress crack we're on a huge hill we're we've got a lot of movement
here i said better thing to do would be i mean for a crack this size that's about as
larger crack as we can repair we pulled this off and it's kelly more it looks like some kind of
elastomeric paint because it peels off and then a lot of cementitious finish came out here i told
him man i'm already here i'll use this product here this is a rain gutter and what it has it's
it seals and it has the adhesive so we're going to pump this whole tube in here now i know a lot
of these polyurethanes say they'll go up to three eight seven inch thick so i'm going to fill this
up with this whole tube of polyurethane and the reason i don't use stucco which will take me
just a swipe and instead i'm going to use this is because once this is fixed now or once this is
installed in here now it'll flex caulking even though this is strong stuff is not going to hold
50-ton house together but this is what i would do if it were my own house anyway here's another
tip guys this has been left in the sun so now it's workable and i took a fat screwdriver and i just
opened it up sometimes when you have these polyurethane caulkins you leave them in the cold
truck and you don't open the tip full blast i took a screwdriver over and over and just
jabbed it a whole bunch of time i want this stuff to go in here and fill out and i'm gonna do
something that i don't normally do and i'm gonna mix a chemical this is a buddy of mine here and
he says well gee isn't is that caulking gonna match and i said no way it's not gonna match
because what you have is you have a sandy finish so you guys don't try this but
here's something i can do now i'm gonna put a more flex in here and this more flex
has sand in it very sandy and guys if you're gonna do any cracks ever do them early morning before
the sun opens that wall if you do it when the sun is out i mean it's already pretty hot right now
but if you do it when the sun is out what happens is that wall is already opened up
you want it to be early morning preferably now that i got that done i'm just gonna take
this little putty knife here and feather in the sides with this more flex because i'm getting
ready to float this so i've got the benefits of both worlds and i know there's going to be
some engineer out there is going to say kirk you can mix those those caulkins and i say
this is for a friend of mine and if there's a reason why i can't i'm just an applicator not
an engineer tell me because i want to know generally another way to do this guys is
what i was planning on doing and that was after i got that caulking in there i can take
weldcrete and put a bonding agent over this and then put stucco but again guys if i put stucco
over this the stucco tends to be brittle and when this wall moves and guys it is gonna move
it'll re-crack all right put this putty knife down and a little bit of water on this we just
float that up tie it in pull it into the painted surface if you want more grit just put more
circles just like that if you want more you can even tap it like that that really brings the
uh the sand finish that what we what we want we're not only matching this right here but we're
tapping it and softening it there it is that's that's how i would do it guys anyway my name is
kirk i'm with kirk giordano plastering jason on the camera again if you folks have things you would
like to see us do because we have so many of these instances just click below this video
