med student life ~🌱🎒 classes and frustrations, family medicine rotation & finding balance ✨
Hello everybody, it is now...
My phone is ran out of battery, I think. I went to a gym class at 6 30 and I waited for the bus
to get home for an hour and a half. And if you complain to the driver, they never know anything.
Buses in the suburbs can be really, really freaking difficult to deal with. And because
it's something that affects me every single day of my life, I'm just so done with it. It really
messes with the schedule of my life to a point where, like I've said, if I want to go to the gym,
I can't even go to the gym because I know it's gonna take me like freaking forever to get home.
I need to deliver a little assignment. I'm not even gonna call it a midterm because it's so
minimal. It's a group assignment where we look at a consult that one of the tutors recorded. We
basically write what he could have done better and suggestions to approach the situation better.
After that, I did some mboss questions so I can start studying family medicine.
I'm gonna read just one more chapter of North and South and I'll see you tomorrow.
I thought tomorrow I had a class in the morning and I told my tutor today that I couldn't come
in the morning so he planned everything for me to come in the afternoon. And now I got home
and I realized that the class was in the afternoon after all. And so I just feel really dumb because
if I didn't say anything, I wouldn't have had to go back on my word. But anyways, that's done.
Hi, good afternoon. Today the visits at the clinic were extremely relaxed. I only saw three
kids. When I got home, I had a meeting with my group in the research project that we're doing
and then at 3 p.m we had another meeting but this time with our tutor. Basically, the tutor wanted
us to have a question hypothesis. We find something that's like new and has never been done before
and we're going to present it to people that know these things because our university is closely
related to a research center that's glued together to our campus. It's so close to the library,
you can see it. You can see the offices. Sometimes we visit the labs and stuff so we find this gap
in the knowledge of treatments and stuff. With no experience in labs and stuff, we must structure
all the little steps in the experiment including what types of cells are we going to use, what are
the expected outcomes of the experiment. With those outcomes, why is that important and why
is that relevant future treatment? How could that possibly change treatments? It's always kind of
like extra work that during the semester you don't want to have because this is a unit with three
credits which is like nothing to all of the other subjects that we are already working on that are
most important. But that's our project and we have our question. Tutor said that it was kind of nice.
For tomorrow's simulation, we have to do a little test. I wanted to go to a cafe but it's already
4 p.m and just the commute there is gonna kill me and I'll study, I'll make some tea.
The western auto didn't carry them so I think they went to Asheville. Coming into a pigeon.
So you're gonna slow and steady extend the back leg long. Bring the right toes either close to the body.
I took a little hour or two. It's now seven and I decided to take these hours off because I was
really feeling my brain kind of a little bit down because students don't really have a certain
schedule. In my future, I'm going to have such schedule where I know in that time I'm going to
work and as a student I don't have that so I feel like if I'm not careful I'll just literally work
all day long. So there's no limit to my day unless it's self-imposed but I have so much to do that
I'm just gonna continue. There's no way I'm able to finish all these clinical cases in like three
hours. Students burn out all the time and that's why I burn out all the time but I really do want
to be on top of things and it's really difficult for me to not do it and not work
in the evenings at night. Okay, enough complaining. I actually did yoga for the first time in a couple
months. I still have clinical cases to do for tomorrow and I wanted to work for the assignment
that I have to deliver this Saturday and I have another project that we have to discuss with our
tutor Monday. I have to discuss it before so this weekend and I wanted to do AMBOSS questions and I
wanted I have another assignment that I need to do for another class. I'm going to start with the
clinical cases because that's for tomorrow so I think it's more urgent. I'm going to work just
until eight so until dinner and then I'm going to have another break during dinner and then I'll
work at night. I really appreciate what I do but there has to be a balance in everything so when
I feel like I'm being too pushed into something definitely makes me feel unhappy because I feel
like I'm not having a balanced life so just these hours of trying to do something for myself for my
you know physical health was really important for me. Now I'm feeling my brain dissipate
and I really have to try to focus again so let's try to work on these clinical cases.
you
