TRY IT TUESDAY #18 Playing With Postage Stamps

Right, today on Try It Tuesday I'm going to do some small little tags. The reason being, I was tidying up and I found all these like nice stamps and I thought oh this is quite spring-like so trying to cross over, get away from Christmas and winter because if you wonder what I've been actually been sort of working on a birthday present for somebody and that's why I couldn't film any of it but I had to you know sort of get it done really so that's why you haven't seen much of me since Christmas really. I will do the draw on the giveaway of my journal so I think I've got two videos out there so I shall pick one of them, one most probably the one that's got the most comments and I'll pick a random person from that one okay and then when I do the draw I'll do the flip through of the actual journal because you've seen quite a lot of it because I've been working in it. I haven't totally finished it because I want you know this journal to become whoever wins it theirs if you know what I mean so I have left some blank pages but there is some of my own artwork I won't say it's brilliant but it is my own yeah so what I'm going to do is it's a very this is easy I had a load the thing is I had a load of these bits of card you know so I thought right I like to make little little clusters of tags and that to go dangle from the page I usually do it from my Aunt Muntz kits and that but I thought do you know what I'm going to just make some tags today I'm going to stamp them all and ink them up this can be book pages it can be anything it doesn't have to be a file folder it's just that that's what you know when I've cut my tops off my file folders I get left a thin strip so I don't really want to waste it so I've got the Tim Holtz stamp that one there and I use that I think I'll use I'm not using any water so I will use Versafine shall we do it on there I think we will and then because this one day will be something I don't know what but it will do something with it one day um Versafine so I hope you're well um do we want brown I think we will vintage sepia that'd be fine so I'll just stamp all those first I must clean this too because it actually fills with ink and then it starts to look distorted actually can get a few down I think I'll do another one okay just a bit that's all right you can fill in I think it's quicker for me if I just do one at a time yeah this Versafine doesn't like this it will eventually dry but it takes a long time this is like shiny card okay a bit of black as well just in case I need it in a minute I think I'll use my postal stamp which I've got them out I've got old faithfuls um Bow Bunny that's those and just ink all those up all right okay what I've done is um just inked up around them that's all okay yeah I had to answer a phone call so right let's have a look let's do a few together how many have I got of these let's do it I've got three there I'll do those three okay and we'll just ink up these well we're back to this now um I had to stop yesterday when I was filming this because there was talk of another lockdown and yes it did happen um yesterday so we're all on lockdown again until oh middle of February I think um I had to so then I had to sort organize the girls from the shop and sort a few things out with those so didn't make it back and then this morning I took down the decorations and then because the loft where we keep them is actually above my studio so that was a bit of a mess in here so I had a quick tidy up and then back to the video so sorry folks but anyway when you see it you'll see it all together so that's fine right where was I had to think what was I doing I have no idea oh yeah I remember yeah so I thought I'd just do that sort of thing like that and then put the stamps a bit skewed yep that's fine like I said I just want some little diddy tags for something I might do in the future that always gets me back into things doesn't it I've got to order some new glue too running a bit low let's hope they don't go so mad on toilet rolls this year this lockdown they did the first one sold out everywhere I think people realize now I think because the first lockdown nobody knew really what was happening so whereas we sort of vaguely sort of know even though we might not know how long it's going to be or anything like that but yeah I was and then last night I was like going to work on one of my digitals and oh I think I'll go the other way and I just I couldn't concentrate it was really weird it was it was I don't know it's funny and I just think of all those people that have got businesses that you know really struggling now and I don't know I just don't know where it's really don't but anyway let's keep crafting keep our mind active and our hands that's gonna sit to me yeah let's get that okay get those out the way okay all right stump then um yeah I'm gonna put that over there but I'm gonna use black now it's um versifying I do like this one especially for detailed stamps um it's not permanent though um I'm not sort of pressing too hard if you know what I mean just so that it misses bits so it looks a bit authentic and that'll take a while to dry because actually I'll give it a quick blast and then we won't smudge because it's shiny the stump um you can put a bit of lace behind or something like that if you want or I could do I'll do that for now and then a dangle or they will be used as a tag so do them like that um that's a bit short that one then that it's such a quick little project you know if you've got any bits of card left or anything and if you make load up then you've got them in a little tub or something like that ready for a project okay that's those three right we'll do some more okay the next little batch of stamps I've got are these I thought I had four but oh yeah there we go so they just I'm leaving all the torn edges I like those okay and I thought they're quite spring like so they're ideal a nice blue one there so I've got those so I'm going to do them and I'm also using these which are the centers of some specimen cards I cut up cut out on my machine I've got quite a few of these and these little tags here I got from the range last year I suppose I've got a couple of packs of these um I didn't didn't want it because I want these quite small so I cut them in half supposed to be in half okay and then so I've got two out of one really and then put me own grommet in I just got to stamp those so stamp that with some brown so I just do that and then just to give it a bit of something oh yeah I've done that the wrong side that one yeah okay just so there's something going on don't mind if it's upside down whatever doesn't matter so I've done that okay these these these ones are definitely dinky and I just um shrunk down some numbers that's a freebie on my website still up there so I've got those so these gonna keep quite simple uh yeah I'm gonna just stick those down and put a number on it so again this is just to be another little dangle and these could go on a bigger tag you know something like this as well or you keep them small it's up to you so I don't really need to do all of it but I'm gonna just put that jaunty angle there I'll just do three quarters of it right so I'm gonna go in the middle of this one and do it that way actually I might do the back of all those still got a bit left just to get something on the back there I mean you can make no problem a bit of card I had them and they've been hanging around there so might as well use them right so a bit of lace I'll need some of these I mean sometimes I don't keep them on here you know I actually change them or I put them on a dangle but this just for ease I just put them on so a bit of lace one of those um one of those could have a button as well no reason why not because I forgot the buttons on the others but I have had added them now right so you could do that okay for a little tiny dangle which is very sweet it's not very big at all or you could make them by putting them on here so you could just sort of do the same sort of thing and I might have a bit more less on that actually might have a bigger bit looking at that then that and that could be a bigger one I like them dinky I must say I think those are lending themselves to be small so I'm gonna keep them small I think keep that for something else because they worked really well those big stamps didn't they so I shall just go ahead and do all those okay I've put all them together and I'm really liking those and I'll show you all the other ones I've done as well and I usually store them by all on another one of these yeah so you could so that's my take on using postage stamps they look good don't they and that's utilizing some stamps not everybody has stamps so I do have a download um a postage stamps they're they're quite plainish really but then I've got some faux ones as well you know like this is one here whereas you could okay rip it out you don't have to I've done use the scissors you know to cut this out so that's that then if you've got get some coffee stain paper I just wanted to use some normal stamps because I've got so many of them I need to just sort of batch do a load and you can really batch do this sort of thing put that there to let it dry a bit really then I rip out ready first I'll do that and then we'll stamp and then we'll rip out I'll give it a chance to dry he's back but try not to sort of really stamp it you know um hard just lightly do it so like that so you miss bits yeah because if you notice a lot of the stamps on these you know this it's quite sort of it's not perfect so we don't want it perfect that is brilliant some of this will come off anyway dirty hands just sort of rip a bit around it like someone's taking it off an envelope and there you have it so we'll do one with that just to show you exactly the same I use this one let's cut that bit straight I should have had my light on today because I'm actually struggling to see that in there well these ones were shrunk down again okay so they're quite small okay one of those I've got another one of those I should have got hundreds of those things spotty when I want there we go perfect yeah and that's made with the printable I've just got to find the there we go okay I don't like something that's twisted around there we go lovely job there we go load there and that's the bigger ones so I
