Cutting boards. Endgrain cutting boards
One of my firsts videos on yt :)
Here is my latest project that i was making.
Custom endgrain cutting boards in this case 4 unique cutting boardsm
They are all made from hardwoods.
Maple,Oak,Iroko,Mahogany,Cherry.
Welcome to my channel.
In this video, I'm going to show you my process of cutting board making.
We're going to cut a panel saw.
And in my future video, I'm going to show you a bandsaw box that is self-made on a homemade bandsaw.
As you can see, I already cut and glued some pieces together.
And now I'll remove the clamps and move on to the second phase.
So, let us remove the clamps.
Maple, Iroko, that's Oak.
That's again Iroko, Maple, Mahogany, and Oak again.
As you can see, we have quite some squeeze out.
And before we put it to the planer, I must flatten this out.
So, let's move to the stock sander.
Now we are at the sander.
Now I'm going to sand this board down.
It's like so.
If you are sanding some small pieces with this machine, it can be really dangerous.
The whole piece, it can just fly somewhere.
So, therefore, I put this stop block over here.
Don't ask me how I know that.
Okay, I'm going to start the dust collection.
I sand it just enough so I get a smooth surface before I put it into the planer.
If you are interested about this machine, I have a whole separate video on my channel, so you can check it out.
So, here we have a cutting board.
In this video, you can see the process when I built this one.
I mean, simultaneously, I built also those three.
Here we have, it's oak, it's mahogany, maple, and maple, and exotic Iroko.
And also maple, and we combined with the Iroko, Iroko, cherry.
It's cherry, Iroko, and some maple.
They're all the same thickness.
Pretty much, it's around 40 millimeters.
As you can see, I already applied oil on it.
If you want to know more about it, check out my other video when I show you step by step how to apply mineral oil.
So, here we have all necessary things that you need to make this mineral oil beeswax combination.
Okay, let's begin.
Never mind, I already have a mixture made.
But I'm going to show you anyway, so you know how it's done.
This is regular, 100% clear beeswax.
Yeah, you can buy it in this form or a whole form.
I buy this one because it's easier to use.
So, the ratio is four to one.
So, four of these and one of beeswax.
So, I'm going to put a little spoon in it, let's say like this.
And that means I got to put four of these as well.
So, one, four.
Okay, you can see it.
There's the mixture.
The bottom is already hardened, but when I put it on the fire, on the heat, everything is going to melt down.
Usually, I do this in my other place when I have a little kitchen.
But just for occasion, I bring this small burner and show you how it's done.
So, I'm going to light this up, like so.
Of course, you have to be very careful not to heat it up too much or accidentally burn yourself and so on.
The oil is at the right temperature and now we're going to pour it.
It looks like I put a little bit, just a little bit too much wax in it.
You see that hardened?
It shouldn't be like that.
But there's an easy way to fix it.
You just put a little bit of oil in it and that's it.
