All right, we got a pretty special day here.
It's just about second in specialness
to when I actually get my Ford GT.
Taking a look at an actual delivery of a car today.
I'm here at Galpin, which is the dealership
that I'm going through for my car.
There's a lucky owner that's getting one,
except he's not here,
and he's allowing me to actually film the whole thing.
I guess I'm the only one spectating
who's not like a Ford, Galpin,
or the delivery company employee.
So this is pretty cool.
It's like I'm getting delivery of my car,
except it's not my car.
I know by the title of this video,
you're probably gonna think that,
wow, he got his delivery like really quickly.
I don't know how to do this,
so it's not like clickbait sounding,
but I'm watching a Ford GT delivery, so we're here.
The truck is right here.
I think you'll like the color.
There were a lot of fans of this one.
So anyway, let's check it out.
Look at the underside, that's cool.
That's not a view you get to see too often, I don't think.
Coming out the other car up there.
Man, look at that, look at all the carbon fiber.
Woo, clear view of the underside of one of these cars.
That's pretty sweet.
Oh man, this is awesome.
I'll only get better when it's mine.
Why don't we get started unloading the thing?
Here we have a Liquid Red 2017 Ford GT.
As you might recall, Liquid Red is one of the colors
that I was choosing between,
and this may or may not be similar
to what my car ends up looking like.
You'll just have to wait and see.
It was between the Liquid Red and the Miami Blue.
And again, you don't get to see until I go to the factory,
so this could be a good look.
It does look beautiful.
So this is actually the first Liquid Red car
that I've seen in person, other than the paint sample.
And then of course we have the Heritage car up there
with the black and gray paint scheme, the number on it,
and it looks pretty nice.
That one's not getting delivered right here though.
This is the one we're taking out.
Let's do it.
Process to get the thing off of this trailer.
Yeah.
Your first test as an owner,
isn't trying to do this yourself.
Oh my God, that's so scary.
So I've seen so many videos of the car going into track mode
which is when it drops the suspension, lifts up the spoiler.
Not something you want to do
when you're driving on regular roads
because of scraping concerns, but you can do it.
You'll drop it.
All right, here we go.
We'll do it.
We got to get a couple angles of this, so let's do it.
Let's do this.
Ah, I love it.
It's so cool.
Damn that pop.
I haven't heard one rev in person before.
That sounds so good.
You don't really get the impression
from all the YouTube clips and it's a twin turbo car.
So obviously it's going to be a little muted,
but it's so hard to wait.
It's the first time I've heard the thing.
Oh, that sounds really good.
That's the first time I've heard it.
Oh my God.
And look at that with the doors up.
Not a view I've ever gotten to see before.
Nice.
Hey, I can finally show some interior now.
So this is Dark Energy Upgrade.
I just went regular Dark Energy on mine,
but you get like the exposed carbon fiber
on the door sills and stuff.
You just get a little bit more exposed carbon fiber
on the inside.
Some changes to leather from the Alcantara,
but it's all black.
It's so cozy on the inside.
If you're sitting with a passenger,
your elbows are touching.
It's really cute.
So I didn't get the upgrade on Dark Energy
because it was 30 grand.
Initially, I wanted to do that.
And then I got the build sheet
and there was a line in there for the upgrade.
And it was like 30 grand.
I'm like, no, I'm good.
Just Alcantara.
We're cool.
It's fine.
Every little experience makes it harder
and harder to wait.
But I guess we're only a few months out, I hope.
Deposit is in.
I think I've mentioned that part.
I think, honestly, it's just a waiting game.
I'll probably get an invite to the factory
whenever it's actually in production.
And after that, we just gotta wait
and we'll be here again to collect the thing.
So tough.
But you know, it's been three years so far.
So another four or five months is not actually too terrible,
even though it sounds like a long time.
I wanna give a shout out to the owner of this vehicle.
His name is Rod Millen.
He has a huge history in driving
and he's actually hosting a car festival
over in New Zealand soonish.
I'll put the link to that festival info in the description
for anyone who lives in that area.
If you wanna check it out,
especially since he was kind enough
to allow me to come and actually film this whole delivery,
which is a pretty cool thing.
Big thanks to Rod.
If you watch this, I appreciate it very much.
Thanks so much.
Check it out if you're in that area.
Well, you know, I think that's pretty much it
for the delivery here of still a 2017 Ford GT.
When I get mine, it'll be a 2018.
I don't think that means much
in terms of any changes to the vehicle itself.
It'll just be a change to the model year.
So nice.
Thank you, Rod, once again.
Really cool to be able to check this out in advance.
And well, you know, we'll be back out here
in the next few months and it'll actually be my vehicle.
And by that time you'll probably know what color I've chosen
because hopefully we will have been to the factory.
But man, it's gonna be tough to wait.
Hopefully the factory will be sooner than four months.
But anyway, that's it.
Thanks so much for watching.
Hopefully you've enjoyed and I'll see you next time.
