NHL: Superstars getting hit

They touch it and here's the touch up. Pittsburgh player down on the ice is Sidney. Oh boy. You don't want him hurt ever. Oh boy, he got buried on this play and this is a scene that nobody in hockey wants to see. Have a look at this play, it's Niskanen that gets him here. Crosby on the give and go. Play, it's on the way in, it looks like he got it. There's the cross check right in the head to Sidney Crosby by Niskanen. And any time he's, oh boy. And any time you see that with his history of concussions. Goal for his team. Turned over and Subban will start up. And Ovechkin, Subban kicked out by Price. Canoogle tries to follow that through to the net. And now a battle in front with Subban and Ovechkin as they continue to go at each other. Finally the referees have seen enough and it looks like P.K. Subban is going to pick up a roughing call. Going hard here, here's P.K. Subban. There's a beautiful open ice hit. Open ice hit, how high is he up in the air there, Alf Kochen? That's at least six feet in the air catapulting over Alex Ovechkin. And Alex just lets him go up and over his shoulder. There's the shot, payback will cost P.K. Subban. McDavid starts back shorthanded. McDavid going wide. Here's McDavid with a shot up high. The referee makes the save and then everybody crashes into the end boards, Manning. And McDavid getting up slowly, holding his shoulder as he heads to the bench. Cuts in, gets the chance on net. Gets taken down and slams hard with two flyers going into the end boards with him. Wide drive, tries a short side shot. Gets tripped and then gets leveled. Attracts a crowd. Paul Heck is going to break loose here. And that's Claude Giroux, I believe. On the task at hand, and here's the hit, Martin Hansel. With one hand, just kind of throws Giroux into the boards. With one hand. Giroux kind of ends up. Head hits the ice. Komarov heads towards the net. The pass went to the front of the goal. Connor Brown couldn't get it. Ovechkin's hit by Cadry and he takes him down. And there's a penalty on the play and Ovechkin is hurt. As you can imagine, the reaction by the Caps on the ice going right after first Cadry and then whoever else they can grab. And Ovechkin a little slow to get up. John Roman Polak. This is a similar play coming the other way. Boy, he ever catched his leg there. And Ovechkin tried to get up and he's still down. Gone low and, oh, yeah, left knee right on the leg of Cadry there. And that looked like a hyperextension for sure. Here's Soposo trying to keep it in. Knocked down and brought on by Shifley to center ice. That's Patrick Leine who McCabe hit. The 229s colliding right at center ice. Devastating hit right there and he put him down. And Patrick Leine, he had no idea. He was in serious trouble and he still is. It's almost like they're two heads hit. I'll tell you, Leine could not get up off the ice after the hit and now he's slowly coming around. Press there, tried for Breyer who got there, swung it along with Nash, and then back out. Look at Ryder's speed. Ryder able to poke it up and is dislodged and Price is down. What a burst of speed by Chris Kreider. And Alexi Emlin, his eyes were the size of silver dollars. Like, really? I can't believe how fast this guy is. Oh, what's a prior to this matter? Kreider went to the outside. This one, where does he go? He goes to the inside. And there you see Kreider lose his balance and crash right into Terry Price. He hurt the right knee. Watch the right knee. It's the right knee he reaches for. What a burst. Down he goes. I'm not sure. Price is trying to skate it off now, but Graham Reinbett and the trainers and the Canadians and their doctor, Dr. Vinny Lacroix, is right down. Great team fight. This is an ongoing bad angle. It's afternoon games, you know? The cobwebs. Chara takes a huge hit from Ryan O'Byrne. They get reacquainted. O'Byrne, you know from his Montreal days, they chop away at each other. And a cross-checking, and I think that's gonna be it. Come with him if he was gonna get a penalty, but there's the big hit by O'Byrne. Finishes his check on Chara. Not something you see too often, Chara getting knocked down. But good leverage by O'Byrne. Maybe a little bit of surprise, the element of surprise on the hit. Here you go again. One more try. That's it this time. Oh, this time he gave it back to him. You called it. He can handle himself physically. Here, knocked off the puck by Shea Weber. When he comes back here, he's gotta get so close to him and fools him. He sucked him in, and then drilled him with a shoulder right in the chest.
