This has been a very interesting night.
Yesterday we arrived really late to a campsite in hopes of taking a shower and their water
system is not working so they don't have water.
So we drove all the way, paid the camping and we do not have showers.
Also when we arrived yesterday it was so late that there was no one here to tell us where
to go in the campsite.
So we talked with a girl that was camping and she used to work here last year or something
and she told us to keep driving because Uphill was like first come first serve spots.
So we kept driving and reached what looked like to be a parking space, parking lot and
we parked there.
And then after like 30 minutes there came a guy knocking on the door like, excuse me
what are you guys doing here?
And it was, I don't know if you can call it a ranger or something but yeah, we weren't
on the correct place and he thought we were like trying to sleep without paying or something.
Yeah, so we explained the whole situation and he said oh it's not here you need to come
with us and drove us to the correct location which was further up the hill.
It's really cold.
Yeah, so the noise you hear is Daniel doing bacon.
The plan today is driving further south to Big Sur and maybe try to find a place in a
way to take a shower.
I think Daniel saw on the internet that there are some gas stations that have like showers
for everyone.
I'm a bit afraid that, truck stops, it's truck stops, I'm a bit afraid that they are not
going to look nice and are going to look like horror movies, like American horror movies
where people go in to have a shower and never come out again.
So this is what the bed looks like when it's done.
I think it's quite like big and comfy.
And then that's Daniel making breakfast.
There's deer everywhere guys, everywhere.
Look at it.
Today we woke up early, came from the camp, drove to Big Sur, camel, camel?
Carmel.
Carmel by the sea and now we just did the 17 mile road and we are now heading to, what
is the name?
Montrell.
Montrell?
We are really bad with American names.
We never know how to pronounce.
It was the same with Yosemite, but yeah.
Montrell, I think.
And we are going to look...
Montreal?
No, it's not Montreal.
Canada.
It's not Montreal.
It's still in California.
Also, we are having a little bit of problems trying to understand the traffic lights in
America.
Intersections.
Intersections with stop signs as well because I don't think it's the same as we have in
Europe.
The rules are...
I think they are different.
Or American people are just really nice and just, you know, want us to go first all the
time.
But, for example, when a traffic light is blinking red, I don't know what that means.
We thought it was like...
It works like in a crossroad.
So, the one on your right has priority, but it doesn't work like that because sometimes
we do not have priority and the car that has priority just stops looking at us like, come
on, you guys go.
And we are like, okay, it was us, yeah.
And also stop signs because there are crossroads where everyone from every road on the cross
has a stop sign.
So, which one has priority then?
We all just stop looking at each other.
No one knows who to go first.
Yeah.
If there's any Americans out there, please, please write down in the comments.
First time in a Costco.
It's ginormous and has everything you need.
I forgot something in the microwave.
The biggest microwave.
The fridge has a drawer.
It's a drawer inside of a drawer.
I've never seen so many medicine in my life.
Today is our last day with the camper van and we are currently parked on a RV camping.
We stayed here the night closer to Silicon Valley, which is our next stop, but without
Silicon Valley and San Francisco, we will do without the camper van.
As closer to San Francisco as you get, we find that it is very difficult to find like
good camping spots for RVs.
One night, you know, it's not much because they're either very expensive, like yesterday
we tried a couple of ones that were more than $100 per night, which is really crazy.
Or they are cheaper, but they are like all booked out.
So we cannot stay there.
They don't have like a place where you can just like park and stay.
You know what I mean?
Just like arrive, park and that's it.
What we have been finding is like places where when you arrive, you see if there is any empty
spots left and then you fill out a little envelope with your name, the car, blah, blah, blah.
And you put the money on the envelope and you put in a little box and then you can sleep
there during the night.
And that's what we did this night.
We paid $44 for one night, but we have paid less like the night before was $35.
So those are the ones we are trying to find, but they are not like super easy to find.
There's not a lot of them.
Also, there's deer everywhere.
I woke up in the middle of the night to pee and there was a deer next to our van, literally.
He got really scared and started running.
So this is our parking spot, number 12.
And this is the rest of the camp.
And there is the bathroom.
You see all the spots, even this one that has no car, it's preserved, you know.
So it's not easy to find an empty spot.
