Hey friends, today we are hanging out at the D23 Expo.
It is 7am and it doesn't officially open until 9am, but we are going in to set up the Roosevelt's
booth, so I'm going to be able to show you the expo floor pretty much all to ourselves,
and then we're going to go to the opening ceremony and the Disney Legends Award Ceremony,
which is going to be absolutely amazing, and then browse around, shop, and just have a
beautiful D23 kind of day.
Anywhoos, let's go do this.
Alright, we have made it to the Roosevelt booth and we are starting to set up.
I'm so excited.
Lookit, we have all the shirts on display here.
It's going to be really cool, and we're actually located next to a really awesome spot.
This is the official D23 Expo pin trading station, and they actually have little tables
set up for pin trading.
They have a sign letting you know all the pin trading etiquette, and it's going to be
a fun day.
It's going to be really cool to show you guys a lot of the expo without tons of people in it.
Not only am I here with Roosevelt setting up the stand, but Disney and National Geographic
both invited me out to do some media coverage, so we're going to get some really interesting
media opportunities, and also I can't wait to hear all the announcements.
There's some big things in the rumor mill that they're going to announce, and we're
going to try to cover as much as possible.
And here it is, the wonderful world of dreams, Disney parks and experiences, and we're going
to be able to see it before all the lines actually start forming.
Look at Walt's statue right there.
That is so cool.
I am so excited for this, and seeing the silhouettes right here, ah, beautiful.
This honestly might be one of the most impressive exhibits I have ever seen.
Look at this.
There's really no secret about our approach.
We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things because we're curious.
Look at this, all the different parks, and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.
Walt Disney.
This is absolutely, I'm kind of getting chills.
I'm getting really worked up actually.
This is so beautiful, holy moly.
Wow.
Here is a look at what Splash Mountain is going to look like when they re-theme it,
and I have to say, I love it.
This is so beautiful.
Like, wow, look at all the detail.
I cannot wait to see this.
And also, if you notice the glowing lights at the top of the hill there, that's going
to be so interesting.
And then, also, the new restaurant that they're going to be doing.
Wow, walking through the Disney Parks and Experience exhibit there was breathtaking.
That is so cool, and we got to see so much.
We're definitely going to go back and explore a little bit.
Just a little sneak peek there.
And I'm also looking forward to the Disney Legends Award Ceremony.
We're going to see some awesome Disney legends, and that's going to be in a little bit, so
we've got a lot to get to.
It just keeps getting better and better.
Right here is Walt Disney's Archive Presents, Step in Time, Disney 100, 100 Years of Wonder,
and just look at this big 100 here.
They have so many historical Disney pieces in there.
I can't wait to show you guys that a little bit later on, and I'm sure the queue is going
to be extremely long.
It looks like the first guests of the day are about to start heading in, and I hear
there's a lot of them, and it's a very high-energy environment, so I'm very excited.
All right, here it is.
Here's the line of people.
First one's in.
Hi, friends.
Wow, look at this.
The line goes all the way down there, and it actually wraps around.
There is so many people here right now, and this is just the beginning.
Look at this.
Goofy's just walking around on the expo floor.
That's the guy.
It is so awesome that you could just be walking around the expo, and you never know what you're
going to see.
You know what I mean?
You might see Goofy just walking around, or a lot of other Disney YouTubers, because everyone
that is a Disney fan is probably at this event, and it's just so cool.
Honestly, it's just the best.
All right, now I think we're just going to go around and explore.
We're starting off here at the end of Hall A, and then making our way all the way down,
just checking out all the booths, and also, if you guys didn't notice, two familiar faces
in the previous video.
I had my friends Disney Dan in the back, and Offhand Disney.
Two great channels.
Check them out, but it was kind of cool.
We put them in there as a little Easter egg to see if anyone noticed, and I figured I'd
tell you guys just in case you missed it.
There's a lot more to the expo than just things to buy and huge announcements.
A lot of people are dressing up in cosplay.
It's really cool.
It's a great Disney community, and we're going to try to do a little bit of everything, visit
some booths, check out some cosplayers, just kind of enjoy everything.
I also ran into my favorite Disneyland foodies right here.
You guys are my go-to whenever it comes to any of the food at Disneyland.
I absolutely love it.
Magic Journeys.
You guys got to definitely check them out, and yeah, I mean, hopefully I'll see you guys
in the parks.
I'll be around the next couple of days.
Yeah, that's so true.
It's been so hot lately.
I know.
It's been so...
Yeah.
The last time I was in Disneyland, we actually got to do a special seating for the Main Street
Electrical Parade.
How cool was that?
It lives on.
That was such a good time.
But it was nice seeing you guys.
Nice seeing you guys.
I feel like Exhibit Hall C actually has a lot more vendor booths of smaller shops and
more tuned to the Disney community itself.
I like a lot of the things that you have down here, a lot of vintage things, things that
I love.
Right here at the Van Eaton Galleries, they have a lot of cool Disney props that they're
actually auctioning off.
Right now, you can see this really awesome Snow White ride vehicle.
And we've actually seen one of these sold before.
We sat inside one of them at the Lakeland Antique Mall.
It's really cool.
They also have some cool signs.
They have a Captain Hook sign over there.
A Critter Country is undergoing some beautification, like a lot of cool props that I really, really
like.
I like this Walt Disney Story over here.
Look at this.
This is a really, really nice, awesome piece right there.
All this stuff is going to be up for auction though, and I think they have everything listed
on their Instagram page.
Still cool.
That right there.
That is so amazing.
I mean, I don't think I could ever afford any of these things, but it is really, really
cool to look at them.
They've got some more park signs over here.
Look at Disneyland Festival Japan, Disneyland Circus Fantasy.
Oh, this one's cool.
The State Fair 1987.
I like this stuff.
This is really, really awesome.
Oh, are those the Hitchhiking Ghosts over there?
I am about to show you guys the actual Hitchhiking Ghosts from Walt Disney World.
They actually removed them out, and they are up for auction now.
Isn't that crazy?
And they're here right now, and we're going to get up close, and we're going to get up
close to them.
Wow.
That is so cool.
Do they move at all?
They do.
Give them just a second.
Oh, we've got to give them a minute.
We've got to give them a minute to follow us home.
Oh, you can hear it.
This is so awesome.
Wow.
I'm pretty positive that is the Holy Grail.
This is the Holy Grail of any Haunted Mansion fan.
Hey, how are you?
Oh my Lord, and there's Kevin Feige right here.
How awesome is that?
So cool.
I'm a big fan.
This is literally Kevin Feige just walking around.
It is absolutely amazing.
Coolest thing ever.
I don't even know what is happening in my life right now.
I just got up and close with the hitchhiking ghost from the Haunted Mansion, and then I
ran into Kevin Feige.
This is crazy.
I was so starstruck, I didn't even know what to say, and I didn't want to just keep on,
but he's just casually walking through D23 Expo, and oh man, wow, what a legend.
This is like, this might be one of the best days ever.
Now we got ourselves Yoda here too.
Look at this.
Are you kidding me?
That Yoda was so amazing, and I heard someone say that
it was cast from the original Yoda cast, which that's pretty remarkable.
The things that we have been seeing at the first day of the D23 Expo, it's just mind
blowing.
They also have a pizza plated truck here.
Look at this.
You can actually get photos picking up pizzas.
Actually, I can go for some pizza.
I'm a little bit hungry.
I know they have some good food options.
They are a little bit better than San Diego Comic Con, so maybe we'll explore around.
Maybe get something to eat.
All right, now it's time we have to start making our way down to the D23 Expo Opening
Ceremony and the Legends Award Ceremony.
We're going to see some awesome legends like the cast of Frozen.
They're also going to have some amazing people that are getting inducted into the Disney
Legends that actually had a huge influence in the creation of Walt Disney World, and
they're actually all going to be there, so lots of surprises.
Oh, wow.
Wow, there's a lot of people in here.
I've seen so many cool things announced, and I've always wanted to be here in person, and
today's the day.
This is going to be so amazing.
We're going to see some Disney Legends, and then Sunday's the big day, so there's a lot
to come, but there are so many seats in here.
You never realize how big these panels actually are, but there are thousands and thousands
and thousands of seats everywhere.
It's pretty intense and a little intimidating.
I hope you enjoy the show, and incidentally, have a handkerchief handy.
If you're like me, you're not only going to laugh a lot, but you're going to shed a few
happy tears.
And hold on to your hats, folks, for Broadway's very own genie, Michael James Scott.
The D23 Expo, how you feeling?
Okay, here we go.
Let's do this.
It will be worth the wait.
In fact, this is going to be our biggest, most over-the-top D23 Expo ever.
More content, previews, more special guests, and more news from the parks, and maybe even
some more surprises.
Now, we've made sure that you have more to see and more to do than ever before, and I
can't wait for you all to experience every moment of it, because you are going to get
a first look at some of the incredible new films and new series coming from Disney,
Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, National Geographic, and our general entertainment team, and more.
First to hear about exciting new projects coming to our parks from around the world,
as well as some big news coming from Disney Cruise Line.
And of course, we're here today to meet our newest Disney legend.
That the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure is going deeper into the multiverse.
To do that, we're going to be expanding Avengers Campus, and the heart of this new area will
be a sensational new attraction.
Guests will be able to battle alongside superheroes and villains from anywhere, and there might
even be some of you that are even aware of who these villains are.
So, those of you attending Josh Damaro's D23 presentation on Sunday will hear a lot more
about this from him, and along with Kevin Feige himself, and I know you're going to
absolutely love what they've got to say.
Wow.
So, as a special treat, each of you today, in the audience, will receive this exclusive
commemorative pin.
What?
That depicts this amazing statue, and of note, these will not be available anywhere else,
and we've only produced enough for people in this room.
It's such a gift.
I go in the studio and record it, and then I get to have this wonderful event.
It's a song that everyone sings.
We just can't let it go.
The highest grossing animated movie of all time.
Music is truly the universal language for all of us.
Ladies and gentlemen.
Makes no difference who you are.
Everything your heart desires will come to you.
Congratulations to our newest Disney Legends.
Yes, please.
Our Disney Legends of the first 100 years.
Please welcome to perform their multi-platinum hit, number one on the Billboard Hot 100
for five weeks, live, on stage, the cast of Disney Animations Academy Award winning
Encanto.
Hi guys, thank you.
Look at that.
That is so cool.
Only available to the people that were just in that room.
What a crazy awesome thing that I'm going to cherish forever.
Okay, so I need to recap.
Going to the D23 Expo Opening Ceremony, and also the Disney Legends Award Ceremony,
and first of all I have to say, I was an emotional wreck.
This was such a pinnacle life moment for me.
Growing up, I never thought I was ever going to be able to go to a Disney theme park.
I never thought that that was something.
I didn't get to go to Disney, or I didn't get to leave the state of Pennsylvania until
I was in my 20s, and it was a big accomplishment for me to do that.
It was a huge accomplishment for me to go to Disney World, and that is when I fell in
love with Disney.
I felt important just by being in a place.
And let me tell you something, being here and going to that exhibit, it was amazing.
It really made me feel like I was somebody important.
This was a big life moment for me.
I felt like it was just unbelievably amazing.
And they had so many amazing moments.
I mean, they had announcements we're getting an expansion of Avengers Campus at California Adventure.
And then also hearing the Disney legends just tell about how Disney affected their
life or how Disney actually played a major role in their life.
It was so amazing.
The cast of Frozen, that was awesome.
And then Black-ish, that was really cool.
I just really loved it.
That was seriously so amazing.
And I didn't put a lot of them actually having their speeches because, I mean, Disney D23
live streamed it, and I didn't want to film during their speeches, but it was so amazing.
Now, we got to go and explore around.
We're going to do some shopping.
There are just so many different little booths and stands that you kind of want to stop and
look at everything.
They have some new Disney durables over here, some exclusive ones for here too.
There's this really awesome booth called Gary's Collectibles that has a lot of vintage Disney
memorabilia.
That's the stuff that I like, the stuff that's old and you find in yard sales and basements
and stuff like that.
That's the cool stuff.
Look at all of this cool, awesome, wonderful world of Disney memorabilia.
There's so many different things.
I like this in the back here.
Some cool plushes, some very old games.
A Walt Disney production presents the Rescuers board game.
I've never even heard of a Rescuers board game right there.
Then, they have a Fantasyland pillow.
That's a cool one.
There's so many really...
Oh, I love that Disney parade flag.
That one.
Oh, there's so many things.
I'm like a kid in a candy shop right now.
I see some old Kermit and Miss Piggy dress-up Muppet dolls over there.
The Goofy Piggy Bank, though, is calling my name.
Look at that right there.
I don't know if you can see it on the shelf.
This is so cool.
Oh, honestly.
I can't buy a lot of this stuff because I can't bring it home with me.
I could ship it, though.
I could ship it.
Now, I'm starting to think.
I also love how they have everything broken off by categories.
They have a lot of Orange Bird memorabilia right here.
Then, a little bit of a figment section here with some vintage figments.
Some current figments, too.
I know that's an old figment.
Of course, they got the popcorn bucket.
As you go around, they have tons of different things.
Look at the fox and the hound here.
Ooh, look at this.
I wonder if they know JoJo can't pull the sword in the stone.
I should get him something from here because I think that would be funny.
They got a little Peter Pan section right here.
Oh, wow.
Look at this VHS copy of Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
I kind of want to get that.
I need to get a VCR.
I definitely need to buy a VCR.
I'm sure I can get one at a thrift store, though.
Oh, my Lord, guys.
I think I might be in big trouble because I just found a bin that's marked Disney Parts Collectibles.
It's a lot of vintage stuff for sale.
Look at this.
A Teppanito menu?
$150 for a Teppanito menu?
Oh, that's one of my favorite restaurants in Epcot.
That's so cool that this stuff is here right now.
There's a whole bunch of them.
Oh, what is this?
Ooh, a Fort Wilderness.
Ooh, this looks really, really awesome.
Oh, wow.
I wonder how much this is selling for.
$200.
This is really, really cool.
Look, you got the Country Bear Jamboree over here.
This is an excellent piece right here.
I might be inclined to actually buy this.
I have to put this to the side here.
There's so many things I just keep looking at that I'm like Pirates of the Caribbean hats.
What's this one?
Ooh, Fulton's Crab House.
Look at that.
That's the Paddlefish right now.
That's so cool.
Honestly, just look how cool this is.
These are all the different menus for Fort Wilderness, including this one right here,
which is Chippendale's Country Morning Jamboree.
And this is the one that caught my attention most.
But if you want to look down on this side, they actually have a really cool gazette.
And it has the Hoopty Doo Musical Review, Crockett's Tavern, Trails End.
And this is Summer 1987.
These are really awesome pieces.
And I definitely think I can frame them up and they would make a wonderful collection.
A wonderful little addition to my already over-flooded wall space.
I actually have them holding the Fort Wilderness stuff for me
because I don't want to carry it around since we're going around the expo.
So I'm going to pick it up once we start to make our way out.
But that's something cool.
I'm going to ship it home too because I don't trust putting it in the suitcase.
Paper products, they get wrinkled real fast or they can tear.
So I'll ship that one out.
But that was a cool find.
I'm happy I got something fun.
Actually, I got a lot of things fun because I got that pin too.
I got the D23 pin that they only gave out during the legend ceremony.
So that was really cool.
So I got a couple things.
This could take the whole weekend to actually explore everything they have to offer here at the expo.
I mean, it goes on and on and on.
And there's so many cool vendors and booths and just exhibits to look at.
Even Wreck-It Ralph is over here.
All right, now it's time to head on in to the Pixar and animation panel.
This is where they're going to announce upcoming Pixar movies and animation movies like Disney Studios.
And this is going to be a big one.
A lot of people told me I don't want to miss it.
So I got my band and we're just waiting to get escorted in.
All right, here we go.
Got to cut through here somewhere.
Thanks.
Oh, it's so dark.
It's like Halloween Horror Nights.
Unfortunately, this is all I'm allowed to show you guys.
Once the show starts, there's going to be no recording of any kind.
And all the laptops have to get put away, all the cameras and cell phones.
And they're real strict about it, but we'll recap afterwards.
I had to step outside so that I can recap from the Pixar and the animation studio.
And it's so cool. I'm so pumped.
They're doing a D-Enchanted, which is a sequel to Enchanted.
And that's something I'm looking forward to.
And then also, the Haunted Mansion.
Like, that is so, I mean, there are so many cool things.
I wish I was able to film, but I'm sure you guys are reading about these already.
I mean, they're all over the news sites and like that.
But I'm more looking forward to the parks, all those announcements, and Marvel.
And Marvel's tomorrow, Parks is Sunday.
So, lots more, like I said, lots to come.
Now I think it's time we start making our way back to the hotel.
The convention, well, the expo closes in, I think, two hours.
But, I mean, honestly, I've been going non-stop.
I went to the parks last night and made my video.
I stayed up all night editing it.
And then I was back here at 7 a.m.
And tonight, we are going to a Roosevelt's after party at Lopez and Lefty's.
So, this is going to be a fun weekend.
And today's just the first day.
Look at that. What a day.
What a great first day to D23 Expo.
I definitely need to get some coffee because, like I said, I am still very, very tired.
But I wanted to point out all the cool food offerings.
They have a lot of stuff that's on the inside of the expo, but tons of food trucks as soon as you come out.
Look at this. Heaven and Every Bite, Fat Boys, Crazy California.
Why are all the names so fancy and cool and unique?
I mean, I like that.
Hobo Co. Pizza.
This is really fun.
I might actually want to get something to eat from here.
I just got to find which one I like more.
I mean, there is a lot. I should have got Fat Boys.
That would have been probably some good barbecue.
I don't know why.
Oh, there's a Fat Boys BBQ in Kissimmee that I'm thinking of.
I couldn't make it out of the food truck alley.
Everything smelled so good, so I decided to get something to eat at the Meetup BBQ.
And they have some really good selections.
Look at this. They got a Classic Chicken, a P-Town Hot Chicken, and the Farva Burger.
Prime Ground Beef, Pulled Pork, Swiss Cheese, Cheddar Cheese, Pickles, Fried Jalapenos, and Garlic Aioli.
And then they have a Pulled Pork Sandwich.
That also looks good.
And yeah, I have to get something.
I am definitely feeling a little bit hungry.
I ended up going with the Farva Burger.
And this thing is massive.
It did cost $25, though.
So I have high expectations.
But I already am impressed by the French Fries.
Because I think they're crab fries.
They smell like crab fries.
And you guys know I'm all about the crab fries.
So we'll give it a go.
We're going to give it a little taste test.
Trying some of the local food here in Anaheim.
The French Fries are good.
The French Fries are exactly what I thought they were.
Wow.
That is so good.
I did get this without that Garlic Aioli.
I'm not about that life right now.
But it does have Fried Jalapenos.
So it's going to be a little bit spicy probably.
But lots of meat.
Alright, here we go.
We're going in here.
Oh, that's so good.
Definitely worth the $20 some dollars.
Oh yeah.
This is exactly what I needed.
That did the trick.
But I think I got seasoning all over my face now.
Have a good one.
Yeah, thank you.
See you later.
See ya.
And with that, I think we are done for our first day at the D23 Expo.
What an amazing time though.
I mean, there wasn't a lot that I could get done today.
Because today was just the first day.
And I was kind of just feeling out the atmosphere.
Kind of figuring out where I needed to go.
And what I needed to do.
But all the panels were absolutely amazing.
It was really cool to be in there for the legend ceremony.
And also, I don't think I really touched base with the Pixar and animation panel that I went to.
But that was so awesome.
I mean, a couple of the big highlights.
Like I wasn't allowed to film in there.
But a couple of the big highlights that I thought were just so cool.
The Haunted Mansion.
They announced that Jamie Lee Curtis was going to actually be playing Madame Leota.
And she was in a dune buggy.
And she like turned around and revealed herself.
And I thought that was so cool.
I was like holy moly.
And then also Disenchanted.
So they're doing basically a sequel to the Enchanted movie.
Which was a really cool movie.
I thought it was actually really fun.
And then also a new Lion King movie they're working with.
So there's a lot of cool things in the works.
And I'm excited to see a lot of that come to tuition.
It's going to be amazing.
And yeah.
I mean, Sunday is the big day for me though.
Sunday is where all of the parks announcements come out.
And that's what I'm looking forward to probably most.
You know what I mean?
I'm all here for the parks.
I mean I like the movies and the TV shows.
And I like Marvel too.
But I want to hear big news about the parks.
You know what I mean?
And then also actually on Sunday after the parks.
I plan on doing a special WhatNot auction.
If you guys follow me on the WhatNot app.
I plan on doing an auction of some of the cool things that I pick up here for D23.
So some D23 exclusive merchandise.
Now we did a WhatNot auction previously.
And it was to benefit Give Kids the World.
And we raised so much money.
Like it takes like, I think it takes 3 to 5 days for the money to start coming in.
Processing after the package gets delivered.
But like I am still shocked with how much we were able to raise.
Like I didn't think we were going to be able to send like one family on a Give Kids the World village.
But we're going to send like 5.
Like it is pretty remarkable.
And once it all gets finalized.
Like I said I think we're going to submit the donation.
But we're going to do another auction with basically like Disney like D23 exclusive items.
And yeah.
I mean what a way.
What a first day at the D23 Expo.
And we still have 2 days.
Now tomorrow I don't know if I'm going to film so much.
I know it's the Marvel panel and stuff like that.
But I do plan on doing Oogie Boogie.
So maybe a little bit of the Expo itself.
And then maybe some Oogie Boogie.
And Sunday I'm just going all in on the panels.
I mean I'm going all in on the Disney Parks and Experiences.
Because that's going to be like everything to me.
So I hope you guys enjoyed the video.
If you guys want to follow me for the WhatNot auction for all the D23 exclusive merchandise.
I know we got some D23 ears and a lot of other cool things.
Maybe some exclusive Roosevelt shirts like this Deadpool one.
See how it says D23 exclusive.
But we'll add it all in there.
I'll put a link in the description for you guys to check out my WhatNot page.
And if you guys signed up for it before you already know.
But it's actually a really fun time.
And we're going to do it actually here in California.
So I'm very excited for that.
But I'll put that link in the description.
And I hope you guys enjoyed the video.
I enjoyed making it.
It's so amazing that I'm here right now at D23.
I am just so happy.
So any who's.
Bye.
