Cole The Cornstar Took Me Shopping...

Oh, it's the best. I know. I don't know, I don't think I look very comfortable. That's the one I picked out too, the first time. Go ahead and remove both of the walls. Good morning, it is a Tuesday morning. It is rainy and gloomy outside, which actually are some of my favorite days. I feel like those are the days that I just feel super cozy and comfortable inside, but unfortunately for me, I don't get to stay inside today. So we are in the middle of another remodel. The person that is doing a lot of the construction work for me, he usually comes, does his work, and then gives me a list, and then I have to go out and get the list of all the supplies he needs. So I called my brother Cole and asked if he'd be willing to go to town with me, and he said, yep, we'll take the enclosed trailer, and it will be super nice to have someone to go to Menards with me. Hello. Hey, now have you ever seen Cole on time? No. He decided he needed to edit something or something, but I'm like, he was supposed to be here 17 minutes ago. Before Cole gets here, I better go through and gather up all my things so I'm ready. Obviously, he is 43 minutes late, and I'm still not completely ready. Pretty much all I need to do is grab my list, which I have typed up, ready to go, and then my purse, but that is in the car, and I'll just grab it on my way out. At this rate, if he's gonna be here any later, maybe he'll take me out for lunch. One can only hope. I think what I'm gonna wear today is just my Sperry sneakers. Fun fact, I'm actually a huge sneaker fan, so that is what we are gonna wear today. I keep hearing vehicles drive by thinking, oh, he's finally here, and it's never him, so come on, Cole. I thought I'd show you guys what the living room remodel looks like right now. If you guys saw my last video, you guys will know that we used to have this entertainment center and then these walls. We removed the entertainment center, and I said that we are gonna remove the beams that were from the ceiling to the ground, and I had a lot of people super concerned that we were gonna be taking out a load-bearing wall, my ceiling was gonna fall down, it was gonna be this big disaster. Don't worry, guys, we have been working with someone since the beginning on this project, and they have confirmed everything about the load-bearing walls for us. So the walls are load-bearing, but there are things you can do to get around that to still take them out and have something. Gosh, this hair. It's gotta go. Okay, like I was saying. So you can still take out your load-bearing walls and do other things to help hold the weight. So that is what we chose to do. So the walls are removed. We went ahead and removed both of the walls that were right here. He made a support wall while he did it to help hold the weight while we put in this beam. So these boards are called a micro-lamb, which essentially is just compressed plywood. It's supposed to be stronger than any kind of wood. But so far, it's looking really good. We're loving the open layout. I'm super excited to decorate it and continue on with the process. It's gonna be fun. But anyway, Cole should be here any minute. Okay. Of course, I have to walk all the way down to the end of my driveway when it starts raining. It's hardly rained all morning, but now it's raining. Man, wouldn't a good brother actually drive into the driveway and pick me up? My ride awaits. Hey. Good morning. You brought the rain with ya. Summer, what's wrong with my finger? What'd Neva do, bite you? Guys, look. Cole has his hair tucked up in a little bun in his hat. It's blowing around. I didn't like it in my face. He probably hasn't showered in a week, and it's greasy. Anyways, while we're out in town today, do you wanna take me out to lunch? First, he makes me walk all the way to the truck, and now I might not even get lunch. We're gonna go get lunch. Can he do it? Yes, he can. Not the best job in the world, but it'll work. Isn't it so fun spending the day shopping with your sister? Oh, it's the best. I know. Come on, Summer, you're taking forever. What is this? This is my shopping list. What a rookie. You don't need those. Just walk through the aisles and pick out what you like. Okay, first we need to go get a paintbrush. Oh, you need help picking out this toilet? Here, why don't you give it a try? I don't know. I don't really look very comfortable. There's no newspaper around here. And I'll be honest, it's not the most comfortable thing I've ever been on, but the price is sure antagonizing. Do I have rings on my butt? Yeah, you got rings on your butt. Oh, wow, here's the lid. Summer, that's all we were missing. And they have the vent, too. Oh, I don't need that. Bluetooth. I don't stink. Summer's kinda hard holding the camera when I got this fat finger. Come on, toughen up. Here, bite it. Hey, while we are here, we should look and see if they have any erosion mats for my yard in the lawn garden section. Since I'm getting lunch, you can buy me those. I don't know if that works like that. Oh, Summer, is this a yardstick or a meter stick? Hey, this is a yardstick. You can tell because it came from a tree that was in a yard. I need a caulk gun. A what? A caulk gun. Caulking gun. Wait, how much was that one? $6.99. We could buy the one for $5.99. But it's not the right size. Oh, it matters? Guys, shopping with men, I tell you. Holy cow, these are the biggest spray paint cans I've ever seen in my life. Look at this little guy. It's literally the size of a cab. What are you gonna be painting with this? We have this old cover on our doorbell in the house, and it's like this. Oh, you don't want white, Summer. You want gold. That's not gold. It is? That's orange. And to think he's gonna design a mansion. I need your opinion. I would say go gold. It's not one of the options. Summer, what's the worst looking color on this wall? We are beginning a challenge. The challenge is, Cole, you have to find an uglier color than what I find. Beginning now. Okay, I am gonna find the ugliest color, and you guys can vote down in the comments who picked the uglier color. Hey, there's a lot of decisions here. All of these colors look terrible. See, it's a mixture between these two. Oh, that one looks pretty bad as well. Okay, I think I got mine. Okay. One, two, 10. Hey, I picked that one out. That's not the ugliest color. Yes, it is. No, I wish they had it in satin. I would agree if I knew what you were talking about. Satin is the finish. Sorry, I can't shoplift stuff. None of this is even on my list. Ole Miss, you gotta make a list, otherwise you go and don't get all the stuff you need. Now you're getting stuff that you don't need. No, I need all this. Now we need to go get a caulk gun. Here goes somewhere I found one. What is it? What do I need a foam gun for? You said you needed a caulking gun. I almost got her to buy it for me. Oh, this is my favorite episode. This is why parents don't bring their kids to the store. Summer, you're getting snack food? No, because my brother's buying me lunch. We need to find the pest control. The security? Summer, they have kicking plates here. Used to play with these as a kid all the time. Our parents didn't believe in getting us toys, so they only got us kick plates. Remember playing with those? The wing, noing. Rolling. See, my philosophy was, if I was always bad in the store as a kid, I wouldn't have to go. I don't like going to the store, so. So I was just thinking with my noggin. It's just like if you don't like jury duty, you just become a felon and you never have to have it again. Do I look like a miner? Honestly, you look like one of the seven dwarfs. Which one? Got everything on the list, except they did not have a clothesline. But we'll find that a different day. How would you rate this experience, Cole? Three. I had to spend it with you. Anyway, I would have rated it a three, too, because I had to spend it with him. Cole took me to one of the most expensive places in town. Should I get this off the menu? My brother had to park in this area in a parking lot because there's not a lot of parking down in this part of town. Now he can't get out of the parking lot because there's a semi in the way up ahead and back behind, he can't back up. Cole and I had a good time. It was a blast, yeah. We had a good time despite the fact that it just took so long in Menards. But thank you for your help. You're welcome. Summer, what'd you do? You ran into one of those yellow things in the parking lot, didn't you? Pulled back to a yellow pole. Nobody needs to know. This is just between us, guys. Guys, the wind is insane today. I'm gonna show you guys what we got at the store. So all we did was went to Menards and Sherwin-Williams. Two things of mud for the sheetrock, two pieces of plywood for the floor to fill gaps, corner beads. Then we got sheetrock. This is a new shelf for in my entryway closet. Delrad so I can get rid of the coat hanger we currently have. And then a shiplap because I have a plan with this. And the rest of the stuff is inside. So let's go inside. Okay, we are back inside. The wind is insane today. It's the kind of wind that when you go outside, your breath is like instantly taken away because it just hits you out of nowhere. So I got some rollers for painting. I decided I'm gonna repaint the entire living room. I need to repaint our front entryway. And then I decided might as well just paint everything new because one, I don't like the sheen of what it is in here now, as well as the color. It's a white, but it pulls a blue. So I decided I'm gonna do the exact same color that I just did for my bathroom, which is Sherwin-Williams Snowbound. And I just got this. They recommended the cashmere can to me. And then I got some spray paint because there's one thing I need to spray paint in the hallway. Paintbrush so we can do the trim. I needed some Ziploc baggies, caulk gun, fence staples. This is for the garden. We are gonna be doing an in-ground garden as well this year. And so I need to fence that in. And then these are for the garden as well. For a gate to get in, I needed a latch as well as some hinges. And then the only other thing I got was a sprayer for the garden. We checked the PO box while we were gone and I got a package, which I have not opened yet. Here it is. This is from a company called Pico Delore. This is sent from someone in Texas. They are two brothers that have made this product. Two bamboo drawer dividers. Well, it's a set of four. I think I know exactly where these are gonna go. I'm gonna go do these real quick and then I'll show you. There we go. So much better. I have all my dish towels here, my extra cloth napkins up here, and then my dish rag is down here. And then I do have these reusable paper towels that someone else had actually sent me that I just need to wash. So they'll fit in here. Once they wash, they kind of break down like this. And I'm gonna put those back there, just like that. And out of one package, I still have two left. So I will be able to do another drawer. And then they sent me a whole nother set of them. So I'll be able to put them somewhere else. Jay should be home here in a little bit. He's at track practice right now. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, hold on. Hold on, hold on. I need your guys' opinion. So when you come into our house, you first come in into like this little entryway and there's a closet. So I have this closet right here. And my question is, is I have a plan for this back wall, but should I do it like an accent wall with a different color or should I keep it all the same color as the living room? Let me know what you guys think because I think I know what I'm gonna do, but I also appreciate people's opinion. So actually for real, for real now, it is the end of the video. We are gonna have a bunch of progress and actual remodel stuff that we get to do soon after this weekend. We are just waiting for them to come put the sheetrock on and do all of that and all the stuff with the ceiling. There are probably things that we could learn how to do, but I have someone that's willing to do it and I'm gonna have them do it. And it's gonna be great.
