This sleep meditation has been created to help you relax your thoughts and fears
around the pandemic so that you may fall asleep more easily, feeling calm and secure.
Wherever you are, whether in your bed or somewhere else, take a moment to settle in comfortably.
Start by becoming aware of any uneasiness or tension in your body
and make any adjustments needed so you can feel more comfortable and more at ease.
It may seem really difficult to do this right now, but see if you can let go of any fears
and just for now, surrendering them all to the power that you believe in.
This may be God, the universe, a spiritual consciousness, or even your higher self,
letting it all go for now. Now choose a spot to focus on in the room that you're in right now,
a spot that is directly in front of you. So if you're lying down, choose a spot on the ceiling
above you and let your focus be soft and gentle on this point of focus. Now take a few moments
to just softly focus on this spot and now very slowly close your eyes. Welcome the darkness now
behind your eyelids. Notice the pleasant feeling of just being able to close your eyes
and enjoy this feeling of relaxation around the eyes for a moment. Now imagine a relaxation ring
of light that has the circumference of your body sitting just a few inches now above your head.
This ring emanates a warm relaxation healing light of energy and this light is very comforting
and soothing and it will bring calmness and peace to your body as it passes through this ring of
light. Together now we will use our imagination as we scan our entire body through this relaxation
ring of light. Now imagine this ring surrounding your head now and now slowly
move this relaxation ring downward and as it slowly glides down feel the parts of the body
passing through this ring. Each part of your body absorbs the relaxation that is radiating
from this healing light beginning at the top of your head, moving down your forehead and temples,
moving over your eyes and your brow, moving down your nose and your cheekbones,
your ears, your jaw, your chin, and now moving down your neck, your shoulders,
your upper arms, your elbows, your forearms, wrists, and hands. Slowly move this relaxation
ring downwards now from your chest and upper back and shoulder blades, your ribs and middle back,
your stomach and lower back, your pelvis and hips and your buttocks, your thighs, your knees,
your lower legs and calves, ankles, and your feet. Now slowly move this relaxation ring
from your feet back to the top of your head beginning at your feet moving upward towards
your ankles, lower legs and calves, knees, thighs, your hips and pelvis, stomach and lower back,
ribs and middle back, up towards your chest and upper back and shoulder blades,
your shoulders, your hands, wrists, forearms, elbows, upper arms, and now your shoulders,
your neck, your entire face, ears, and head, and now back at the top of your head.
Allow this relaxation ring to rest here at the top of your head for a bit longer,
let the soothing healing warmth that it radiates surround your head,
the sides and the back, and also flowing deep into the inside space of your head
and into your mind, letting it calm and soothe any stressful thoughts you may be having,
any fearful thoughts that you're experiencing at this time, and one by one, each thought softens
and melts away. These thoughts are not solid, but instead they are simply images and stories
that are fueling this fear and anxiety that you're experiencing right now. These thoughts
aren't based on this present moment reality, because the reality is that right now you are
lying in your bed, held and supported by the mattress beneath you, and in this moment you
are safe. The fact that you're listening to my voice right now on this audio is proof that you
are not in any danger in this moment, and the only reason that you feel frightened is not because
you're unsafe, but because your thoughts are making you feel this way. So let's come back
to what is real in this moment. Notice the feeling of being supported by the surface that is below
you. Notice the places of pressure from the parts of your body that are touching this surface,
feeling the weight of your body. Your body is real. You can feel it, and you can see it.
Paying attention now to your breath, noticing how it just flows in and out,
your breath too is real. You can feel it, perhaps you can even hear it. Feel each inhale and exhale,
following the breath from the tip of your nose as it enters and flows all the way down to your
lungs and belly, and then following it back out as it moves from the lungs and all the way out
through the nose again. Feel your entire being bathed by this ring of relaxation,
warm and soothing. And as you relax here, with this wonderful relaxation energy that is surrounding
you, perhaps you can focus on some positives that this pandemic is bringing to our lives at this
time. Perhaps it's bringing time at home with our loved ones. Perhaps the situation is making
us all aware of how deeply connected we are to each other. Perhaps the situation is bringing
our governments, medical professionals, businesses, and all people together to help each other
navigate the challenges that we are facing right now in this crisis. And as you relax here now,
in this wave of relaxation and healing that surrounds you, perhaps you can take this moment
on your own, thinking of some positives that have come from the situation in your life,
and take this time as you rest here in this relaxation to focus on these images,
and allowing your body and mind to let go of anything else that is preventing you from feeling
fully rested, and instead focusing on the potential positives that comes from this situation
for the environment, for society, for ourselves. Letting go of the what-ifs, and embracing the
what-is of this moment. In this moment, you are safe and secure, and you can sleep now,
feeling peaceful and at ease, and this peaceful feeling will remain as you awake.
You will feel emotionally strong, positive, and physically and mentally rested,
and ready for a brand new day ahead. Sleep well, dear one. Sweet dreams. All is well.
You are safe.
