My Oscars Predictions 2019

Hi guys, welcome back to my channel today's video is a very exciting one is my oscar predictions for this sunday's academy awards I'm, really excited because I never actually make predictions. I never really do any prediction videos or Or ballads or anything like that. I just have movies that I wish that they would win Of course like every year but this year I thought why not make some predictions and see Which ones I get right which ones I get wrong if you have your own oscar predictions, please leave them down below because i'm really Curious to see what you guys think will win Not necessarily when you want to win because of course it's never the same Of course starting with the fact that I won an eighth grade to be even nominated for an oscar Which it wasn't at all not even one nomination And i'm kind of mad about that because I think it's a brilliant movie It's definitely my favorite from 2018 if you saw my favorite movies from 2018 video I mentioned that eighth grade was of course my favorite of the year But we can't be mad forever. It's still a great movie. It doesn't need oscar recognition Although it would have been really cool for both bo burnham and lc fisher to get some first time oscar buzz oscar recognition, but Anyways, okay with that said I do want to mention that I have not seen some of the documentaries and like short films, so I don't really want to Make my predictions on those because I have no idea what i'm talking about if I do make a prediction However, I have seen one of the animated short films and it's bow, of course because it was premiered before a picture film I think it was the incredibles 2 And I absolutely love that little movie I think it was brilliant. It made me cry before the pixar movie even started. It's very common for pixar to win this So yeah, I think i'm gonna go bow on that one. Okay, so let's start with visual effects Honestly, i'm gonna have to go with avengers. It depends. It might also go to first man, but I think avengers might take The win on this one film editing. This was tricky because I know bohemian rhapsody has been getting a lot of recognition For the editing in the movie, so I think i'm gonna have to go with bohemian rhapsody Production design. I do really want black panther to win and I think it might actually win All of these movies are deserving of that award, but I do think it's gonna go to black panther Cinematography i'm glad to have you back. Uh, I think no i'm pretty sure That roma is gonna take this one. First of all, it was a beautiful film with beautiful cinematography and i'm pretty sure that's the one thing that's that Stands out the most about the film even though everything about it the story The directing everything was amazing. I think the cinematography was just the best part about this movie in my opinion Um, and it has been getting a lot of recognition for it. So I do think it's going to win Cinematography, okay costume design Um, I think black panther might take this one it's a little hard to tell though because period pieces Are usually pretty hard to beat in this category. I think the academy loves period pieces like the favorite um, so who knows it might be the favorite but I am Personally going to pick black panther for this one makeup and hairstyling. I'm glad to have you back boo I think this one without a doubt is going to be vice sound mixing for me This one was a little bit harder to pick but at the end of the day I am gonna go with the first man now sound editing I think And I hope it goes towards a quiet place a quiet place was a movie In which sound was a huge part of it or the lack of sound which was a huge part of the movie So the sound editing in that movie was so important to tell the story It was great the way that they were able to do that and I think that they definitely deserve this award So i'm gonna give it to a quiet place original song this one Is a no-brainer. It's gonna go to shallow lady gaga and bradley cooper. It has won other awards already That song that duo is just everywhere right now They were at the grammys or lady gaga was at the grammys and she won a grammy for that song or they won And yeah, I just think it's gonna go to shallow which I love. I love that song and I love the movie So i'll be really happy if it does win. Okay, so for original score I wasn't really sure it might go to veal street talk or it might go to black panther foreign language film roma We might get surprised and they might pick cold war But I am like 95 sure that roma is going to take this one animated feature There's no doubt in my mind that this one's gonna go to spider verse spider verse For me should have been nominated for a best picture as well But it wasn't definitely one of the best movies of 2018 A lot of people loved it. It has received so much recognition And yeah, it was definitely the best animated movie of 2018 and i'll be really happy when it wins best adapted screenplay I think this one might go to black lens man. It might go to spike lee Hopefully I think it was a it was a great movie and spikes lee spikes spike lee deserves an oscar So yeah now original screenplay. This was also hard I think it might go to roma or I might be giving too many awards to roma. I don't know You see this is so hard It could also go to the favorites or it could go to vice The good thing is that I have nothing to lose. I didn't bet any money on this So if I pick the wrong one, it'll be fine. I think first original screenplay. I'm just gonna put it out There is gonna go to the favorite future monica. Was I wrong? Was I right? Let me know actor in a supporting role I think this one might go to mahershala ali for green book actress in a supporting role I think this one's gonna go to regina king. It feels feels we could talk actor in a leading role Okay, this one might might cause some upset or it might Not I think it might go to rami malek. I did like his performance in bohemian rhapsody But of course a lot of people do not support that film because of the director There's a lot of controversy surrounding that if you don't know about it. Um, I suggest you look it up So a lot of people don't want anything To go to towards bohemian rhapsody, but it has been getting a lot of um recognition and a lot of awards So that's why I think it's gonna go to rami malek in this one Actress in a leading role as much as I would like to see yalitza aparicio Um go up on stage at the oscars and make her thank you speech in spanish um, that would be So amazing to witness so amazing to watch. I don't think it's gonna happen. It's amazing that she's nominated It's amazing that roma got so much Love and recognition, but I don't think she's going to win. I think this one is going to go to glenn close She's been nominated a lot in the past and I think this year is gonna be her year directing I think this one's gonna go a hundred percent to alfonso cuaron for roma for the past six years every best director award has gone to a mexican director except for Damien, giselle when he won for la la land, but it has been in Guillermo del toro and cuaron for the past six years and I think that's a really cool thing Uh, it makes me proud even though i'm not mexican, but i'm latin american which makes me really proud to see Latin american directors go up on stage and win an oscar and best picture We have reached best picture this one to be completely honest is a really hard decision to make I don't know I have a feeling roma is going to take best picture I don't know why there's something in the back of my mind that says that black panther might Win too. It's gonna be like super unexpected. What do you guys think? Let me know please in the description down below. What are your predictions again? I really love award shows for some reason. I love watching award shows um, especially if it's one that Celebrates movies, although they almost did not recognize cinematography and editing in the broadcast So are they really celebrating movies?
