Spent the night next to the river at one of my wild camps a nice long walk up and past the old woodland camp with my dog Tyson some nice chill time and epic lamb shank cooked on the camp fire big thanks for watching
That water must be freezing, eh?
Yeah, this is pretty much what we do for hours.
Yeah, today I've just had a nice slow walk up here.
Just having a good old wander around.
I've got my hammock stuff with us.
Stay the night at some spot.
Look at all that wood, eh?
The river's been on flood a few times since I've been out last, so plenty of wood around.
Still wandering.
Just been checked on three camps so far and they're all good apart from one
which is still need cleaned up after the kids trashed it again.
But I'm just going to leave that for a bit and do it when I'm going to use it.
I have the dog on the lead just because there's deer around.
Last thing I want is him seeing red and going after one of them
because he's like that now and then.
It's a warm day.
I'll have to stop for a drink before long.
Everything's starting to die back now.
It's that time of the year.
So much nice wood washed up.
Back to my black bag.
My Highlander 66.
And just because it's a smaller pack than my big army one
because my hammock stuff isn't really a lot
and I've just got my small snook pack light sleeping bag on there.
Yeah, so we're going to plod on and see what's next.
Popped in in the old moss camp.
See what it's like and my bench is still there.
You can tell it's been here a while now.
All our stumps are still here too.
The fire pit and that.
Did our very first clay work right here.
There's a little swamp area in there.
Saw post.
It's where the old moss shelter used to be.
Before a tree took it out in a storm.
It's a nice camp.
The old moss camp I'm going to move on because the day's young
and I'm still full of energy.
It'll be nice to get past the old woodland camp tonight
and see what's up there.
Yeah, plodding on.
Look at the size of that.
Stop for a breather.
Caramel.
I think I'm going to get the jet boil on and have a coffee.
Ice creamy latte.
It's fairly deep that.
Approaching the woodland camp now.
There we go people, just as we left it.
All nice and tidy.
A bit of firewood still there.
Last time I was here I moved this wall in
and sort of restacked it a little bit
so it looks a little bit better.
But yeah.
So quick lunch.
Got some long grain rice and some salmon fillets that I've packed.
I'm going to bang them in the jet boil once it comes to the boil.
So this is an old camp.
It's been washed out recently.
Look at all that nice firewood plate.
Piled up in the hammock spot.
Excited.
And my big drain cover's still there.
And my grill.
And sort of a fire pit.
Just needs a good tidy up.
Fire pit is sorted.
Like 15 minutes work or so much to tidy it out.
Nice little raised bench in front of my fire pit now.
It's been here for ages.
I've just had it tooken apart and hid in the bushes.
Loving life.
That is my setup for tonight.
Going to be comfy and snug.
My 10th wonder hammock in camo.
My DD 4.5 by 3 tarp.
Held up by bungee cords.
And my hammock, the suspension rigging with the storm rings in.
And I've got a tarp on the floor underneath it.
It's for all my stuff.
What I've just unburied.
Pretty epic.
Heavy and dry.
We're just chilling in the hammock.
Got a nice coffee.
I think the sun's gonna set in a minute.
I'm gonna go out and see it.
So I've just got a bit of cotton wool.
Fluff out the washing machine.
And some pine resin that I collected a while ago.
There's a mist starting to come off the water.
So for tea I have in there, I've got a nice lamb shank.
Cooking nice and slowly.
It's been on for about 40 minutes.
And in here I have some potatoes.
They're gonna go on pretty much there.
It's falling off the bone.
That is all us tucked up in our hammock now.
Tyson's under here.
Fast asleep.
I'll catch you all in the morning.
It's starting to rain a bit.
Good morning all.
Slept real good.
Fortunately I've got to get packed up and get home because I'm back at work.
Leaves falling off the trees and the tarp.
Just my fire and my bench which is gonna stay here for a bit.
Probably use it a couple of times.
Only one thing, it's warm for seven in the morning like.
Expected it to be a lot chillier.
Well guys, big thanks for watching.
We'll catch you all again very soon.
