Measured to perfection.
Oh, he's made it.
That's some volley.
He's got him again.
Well, first of all, he's having time on the ball,
so he's able to to pick which shot he wants to hit,
because Murray's length again poor.
There we go.
First point that Murray's been able to get himself forward.
Oh, well, it's Kopalu comes out on top of that little duel,
as he has the majority of this set.
Well, held his nerve on the overhead,
that clenched fist and that reaction for Murray's sake.
You have annoyed me and frustrated me the whole of this set
with that drop shot.
And that's my response.
Wow.
Well, this is mentally an incredible effort
to win six points in a row.
And he takes the set point.
And you have to say it's deserved on the balance of play.
Just like so many of the great champions do.
Andy Murray reacting to the adversity.
It's astonishing movement.
That's a big winner.
Oh, yes.
Open the court up beautifully.
Oh, yes.
That's a fine way to close it out.
And are we going to witness yet another Houdini act from Andy Murray?
Devastating backhand.
Yeah, when you can hit a shot like this, don't just stand and admire it.
That's a quality point from Kopil.
Oh, he can do no wrong right now.
Well, this is reminiscent of those seven points he reeled off in the tiebreak.
Gutsy play once more from the Romanian.
He's been knocking at the door.
And this time it opens for Andy Murray
as he breaks first in the deciding set.
Oh, a bit of swagger on that forehand.
Kopil breaks back.
Nice doing it the hard way, but doing that point in style.
Such good awareness with where his opponent was and where
Kopil was moving.
Oh, that's a ripper as well.
That's an inspired backhand.
And we've seen plenty of that this evening.
Certainly won't be counting any chickens before they've hatched this.
Oh, coolness personified.
Murray wins another marathon in Washington, D.C.
He's done it again.
Great sportsmanship from Marius Kopil,
who added so much to a brilliant encounter.
You have to feel for the Romanian because he put so much into the match.
But it is Murray who continues his incredible comeback
and is clearly emotional
after putting so much into that encounter.
He's through to the quarterfinals here at the City Open.
He's defeated Marius Kopil, 6'7", 6'3", 7'6",
and three hours and one minute.
In many ways, it's a lovely shot, isn't it?
We've all missed it.
He certainly missed it.
Incredible performance.
Incredible performance all week from Murray.
Over eight hours, he has been on court.
It's been a tough comeback for him.
I think, you know,
he was thinking at a time
that he might not get back to the sport he loves so dearly
and to produce what he's produced over the last three, three days.
Astonishing.
And just to be back playing the sport,
it's understandably taken so, so much out of him emotionally, physically.
And you can completely understand
what we're witnessing.
Soon those tears will turn to a smile on his face and they should do.
He's a special, special individual, Andy Murray.
I mean, it is incredible, isn't it?
What we've witnessed the last three days,
how little Tennessee's played to win three marathon
matches like that back to back.
Yes, bear a thought for this man.
He played a fantastic match.
And so often we will always say, I mean, Djokovic
has had those tough moments this year.
If you don't play matches, those big moments are tough to come through.
And he has come through three in a row here in Washington.
And the astonishing thing is he is in the quarters
and the bottom half of the draw.
He could do what nobody thought he would do
and maybe even win the tournament.
Just shows you what he has put into the last few days,
not just the last few days, but since that hip injury,
the work off of court, everything that has gone into these moments.
Andy Murray is back.
And I have to say, I think everyone in the tennis world
is absolutely delighted about that.
Understandably so.
Receiving a standing ovation by those that are left on this court.
A simply phenomenal effort from the former world number one.
And with with with what we saw there, I mean,
is the belief there that he still can get back to world number one
with with the mindset we've been seeing?
I think the way he was there emotional.
I think just the fact he's back,
he's back playing at a high level.
He's back winning tough matches.
