These Bike Park Jumps Are Completely Insane!

We're at Thunder Mountain and they just built one of the biggest jump lines in the U.S. for public bike parks. It's not gonna be bigger than Crabapple, I don't think, but I think it's bigger than Dirt Merchant. We're gonna go check it out. So I believe that's the entrance to that new jump trail. Yep, that's it right there. We'll be checking that out later. I think this is Haley's one of her favorite trails. And honestly, I like it. It's a good happy medium between flow and pack. What's up dude? Watch out for the wind if you run down. We may shut it down Shoot, I have a bummer. Maybe I'll just coast in for a second. All right, I guess we'll go down Hollywood. Okay, that's taped off. Wow. All right, we're gonna put a GoPro on Haley real quick. You guys will go see a run with Haley as well. I can't promise anything. All right, this will be a good warm-up for putting myself on Fort Hill. They're sweet. Good seeing you, trail. I took the huffy down a long time ago. Welcome back. Now we're finally headed up to go check out the Fort Hill jumps. I did a warm-up lap down Hollywood, which is the other biggest size jumps they have here. They're comparable to like A-Line, maybe some of the smaller ones on Dirt Merchant. Now it's time to check out how big these jumps are. I think they're quite a bit bigger and there's a lot of wind. So there's rumors that they might shut these jumps down. There's a little bit of a rush to get up there. Yeah, we're going nowhere very slowly. Yeah, how's it going? Oh my god, I'll be so excited that you're here. I'll look out for him. It's actually a pretty sizable gap. A little floater. Yeah, that looks like it's going to be the most intimidating one of them. This one, I wonder, I bet you you could gap the whole thing. How are you? I ran into your mom up there. Yep. What happened, man? Uh-oh. I flipped over the bars. Not on purpose. That sucks. How long are you out for? That's sizable. Right now they're ending it right here, I guess. Looks more like a roller coaster. Like these features I'm not worried about, except for that maybe that double, which apparently is easy to send deep. I'll be coming up that way anyway. I guess I should go check these out. All right, here we go. Holy. Scary. I'm sure there's like 13 year olds who hit this all the time, but yeah. Scary. Really scary. Like I hit everything fine, but it's like it's the last jump that's like the most intimidating. Oh yeah, you want a picture? Oh man, I think almost with the speed you come in, just a few pedal strokes you could get that. Yeah. Yeah, I might ask you to stand right there. Yeah. How'd it go? Well, you have to brake check on a few of them because it's really easy to like overshoot like the big first big double. Yeah, the big double you can get a little too much speed. The third drop you can get too much speed. Last one you can't get too much speed, I don't think. Yeah, I actually like did a one crank into that. You got to do it again? I'm going to do it again. I'm eyeing up after the double there's at a table. Eyeing up trying to get over it. It's kind of something that's like on my mind. I'd like to try to do this run, but no guarantees or anything. If you want to see Phil do a cool thing, you should wait. Yeah, there we go. Ah, kind of. I think it's doable. It's just, it's just scary. Really scary. Yeah. How's it going? Nice to meet you. Because like, I don't know, like I didn't really try to pull for it or anything. And I feel like I can pretty comfortably land past the third rung. Yeah. I'm just getting that next little bit. When I asked my girl, my girlfriend got on video. So I want to just kind of see where my speed's at. I was pedaling up right there when you were going for it. He was like, Phil might do something cool. I was like, is he going to backflip the dirt double? Like that's pretty tall. Just tall. Yeah. I'm super speed from Phil. Get it. Get it guys. Oh, that was scary. That was so cool. You landed that step that said jump perfectly. And I was like, oh yes. Right on the money. How scared were you? You? Yeah. I thought for sure I gave you a heart attack. No, I have faith in you. No, I can tell when you're coming into something fully committed. And when I know you're committed and you're doing it, it doesn't, it doesn't sketch me out. I can tell you're not fully committed and you do it anyway. It looked clean though. I mean, I saw it from pretty far away, I haven't heard about anyone, but about anyone else doing it, but this is also my first time here in like two years. Okay. What are we getting ourselves into here? Oh, this is sick. Oh, that's so good. Terrible line choice. No, I don't know if there is a good line choice. Oh my God. Oh, nice. Oh my God. This is amazing. I'm going to do it just because I know it'll probably be a stage in a couple of weeks. I love that trail. It's good to ride anyway. I'll follow you to it. Those are tight. In a race situation, I hate that feeling. Yeah. When it's like, when there's a lot to remember there. I never ride this trail. I think I've been down it less times. I can count on one hand. All right. I'll read it off. I know it. It'd be cool if they made a landing for that drop back there. Whoa. It's not like Whistler where they have extra credit landings on the side. I'm riding a tech trail and I forget, I really like jumping. What are we headed? Uh, too tight. Too easy. Too easy. I haven't ridden it in years. I just remember the very start of it. It's very steep. I don't know. It doesn't look as steep as I remember. So I guess we just go straight down. All right. Choose your own adventure. I could have gone straight there. I would ride that trail way more. I just have never ridden it since the first open like five years ago. And I would like lap that. That's a good downhill trail. I wonder how Haley is going to like that. After we started going down, like I feel like she's going to hate us right now. Yeah. The top is a little gnarly. Yeah. I feel like I remember it being steeper, but also not as Rocky. It's just because the last time I rode it was like five years ago. She's right into the bottom of the very bottom of ----. Like the easy part of ----. I think he wanted to go left right there. And the wrong way. No, we're, we're, we're good. We just like, there, there is a path that we obviously missed. Oh, it's like a river. That's the old trail. I think I raced down on this trail before. It's a lot woofer than it used to be. I don't remember any of this.
