Decorate for Christmas 2022 with me for Part 1 of my Christmas decorating series. We are starting decorating on my Living Room where I will show you how I decorated my Christmas tree as well as my Christmas mantle and more living room decorating ideas for the Christmas holiday! I hope you enjoy and get a ton of Christmas decorating ideas🎄
Hi everyone, welcome to the first video in my Christmas decorating series where we will
be kicking off the season by decorating my living room and Christmas tree.
And if this is the first video of mine that you are seeing, make sure that you subscribe
so that you never miss an upload.
After each season, I love to reset my home and leave my space somewhat of a clean slate
so I can become re-inspired for the new season.
I printed off new prints from Etsy to add to my picture frames.
It's been almost a year now since I started swapping out seasonal prints and incorporating
them onto my living room shelves.
I believe I spent $15 to print these off of Shutterfly, so this is a budget-friendly hack
that I definitely plan to continue doing next year as well.
And then I'm switching out my Frame TV picture and I really liked this close-up of a Christmas
tree with a pretty red ornament.
And when choosing art for a space, I always take into consideration what other colors
that I plan to incorporate into the room and just make sure that it's something that will
complement them.
And it's always so exciting to bring out the Christmas tree.
This one is from Balsam Hill.
I've had it for three years now, I believe, and one of my favorite things about this tree
is how easy it is to set up.
The light connection for each section is in the trunk, so all you have to do is plug it
into the wall and as you connect the three sections, the lights just automatically turn
on.
So as you can see, it's super simple and I love that I don't have to wait for my husband
to help me put it up.
And then I go around and fluff out the tree, starting at the bottom and working my way
up.
This step is going to help make sure that the tree looks full and as realistic as possible.
I decided it was time to update my living room furniture.
I have a new end table that I'll be setting up today.
I'm still waiting on the matching coffee table to be delivered, so stay tuned to see that
in a future video.
But I really appreciated how easy this table was to assemble and I love the softness that
this white oak wood color is bringing to the space.
Okay, so if you are looking for the best garland hanger look no further than the Command Cord
Bundlers.
They are seriously a game changer.
I'm attaching them to my mantle and I'm waiting an hour to let them set.
And this is something I've had to learn through trial and error, but it really helps the hold
performance when you let them cure to the space before adding any weight on them.
I used these two trees last year.
I really love how the balance of the lighted trees plays off my Christmas tree lights.
So the Christmas tree is on the right side and these are added to the left side of my
living room.
So the lights just balance each other out really nicely.
I love incorporating faux fur to my Christmas decor.
It gives a cozy kind of Nordic lodge look and these trees are battery powered and run
on a timer so I have them set to come on every evening.
Back in August I shared that I received a new Helix mattress and I just wanted to report
that I am even more obsessed with it today.
It is the most comfortable and supportive mattress that I have ever owned.
So thank you so much to Helix for partnering with me on another video.
I wanted to share a little bit about Helix for those of you who may not know about the
company and also dress up my mattress for Christmas time.

conveniently shipped right to your door.
Helix knows that everyone is different so they made a sleep quiz to match your unique
sleep preferences to find the perfect mattress for you.
It comes rolled up in a box and is super easy to set up yourself.
I love a soft but still supportive mattress and I'm a side sleeper so I was matched with
the Midnight Luxe.
This one was super soft which I love but still supported my back.
Ryan and I have been sleeping better than ever on our new mattress and the online ordering
and home delivery was so convenient.
With your Helix Sleep mattress you get a 100 night sleep trial along with a 10 year warranty.
And there are financing options plus flexible payment plans.
So if it makes you nervous to buy something that you haven't tried yet you get more than

Now let's get back to the decorating.
Now that it's been about an hour it's time to hang up my garland and these just wrap
around the entire piece and hold it perfectly in place.
I am so impressed that only two of these were able to hold the weight of this entire garland.
It is a little on the heavier side since it's pre-lit and has two battery packs attached
to it but as you can see it's holding perfectly.
Now that I have all of my big pieces in it's time to go in and add in my shelf decor starting
with my picture frames.
Here is another example of how I balance things on each side.
I'm adding two of the vertical prints to the top shelves and two of the horizontal prints
to the bottom shelves.
To bring in more of that red color I'm adding some red ornaments that I had left over from
last year to this beautiful glass lantern.
These trees are from Target last year.
I have two of the smaller ones and two of the tall trees that I will add to each of
my shelves.
I always love to work in some vintage pieces with my decor.
I think it adds such a timeless and classic look and these stags are perfect for the Christmas
season.
This faux fur rug is going on my other bench to balance out the fur on the other side and
it was only $10 from Ross.
One of my favorite Christmas finds this year is this pair of gold deer from the at home
store.
They were very reasonably priced and I think they are just the perfect addition to go by
my fireplace.
Now it's time to decorate the tree.
I am so excited.
I'm going for a frosted winter wonderland look.
My tree is not flocked at all so all of the frost and icy elements I'll be bringing in
through ornaments and garlands and things like that.
I did put one thing on the tree already so let me show you.
So here is that really icy garland that I showed from my at home haul.
I love it so much.
My only regret is that I didn't pick up three.
This is two of them and I definitely would have preferred a third and I went back today
and they were completely sold out but just look how beautiful this is.
It definitely gives that icy vibe that I'm going for.
So now that this is up, let's go ahead and add the rest of my ornaments.
My tree skirt is faux fur as well and also from Balsam Hill a few years back.
It's held up so beautifully and really adds a cozy texture that I love.
Most of the tree decor that I'm using is from Hobby Lobby.
The white starbursts and the tree topper however are from the at home store and the hanging
icicles are from Amazon.
After the garland goes on my tree, next I add the largest pieces like these ornament
picks.
I'm just placing them in any of the large gaps that I see around my tree.
up next are the starbursts.
I love how they give almost a sparkling look to my tree and the placement I'm putting them
in is little triangles if you can see so that they look symmetrical all around my tree.
How cute are these owls?
I love that they come on a pick so it's really easy to place them exactly where I want to
sit on my tree.
Now that all my big items were added, I'm going in with my picks and icicles and filling
them in any of the empty spaces.
Okay so here is the finished product.
I don't have the light on just because I wasn't sure how it would look on camera so I'll turn
the lights on at the end but I just think everything works so well together.
The owls are cute, the white little starbursts are so pretty it almost makes it look like
it's sparkling.
I did add in those gold leaf picks and yeah everything just works so well together and
really plays off each other nicely to create this snowy icy effect.
And the last thing I did was just hung the icicles in any of the empty gaps and it kind
of just gives almost like a tinsel effect.
I just really love it.
This was exactly how I hoped it would turn out.
Let me know what you guys think and also let me know what your color scheme and theme for
this year was.
I'm just really loving how neutral this looks especially since I have a lot of red going
on in the rest of my living room.
Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, you'll ever be unchanging.
A symbol of goodwill and love, you'll ever be unchanging.
Each shining light...
So these were the picks that I did not end up using on my tree but I plan on working
them into the garland around my mantle just to tie in that icy look with my tree.
These picks totally transformed my garland and I love how they tied together the look
of my icy flocked tree.
If you have an older garland and want to create a new look, just add some picks or even some
ornaments.
It's such a budget friendly way to update an older piece.
Now I'm adding in some pillows and blankets to make the space even cozier for the holidays.
These tapered candles are battery powered with a little remote but unfortunately I didn't
have the right kind of batteries on hand to show you how they look.
I hope you all enjoyed decorating with me for Christmas.
