We've had such a lovely summer so far, staying at home with many projects to work on and welcoming many of our friends at La Source.
With my friends Karen and Doug, we took a wine tour through the vineyards of Côtes de Beaune with Mélanie, of www.myfrenchtour.com.
Of course, I am taking you with me!
Find my brocante shop on: https://www.instagram.com/frenchvintagestyle_com/ or https://www.frenchvintagestyle.com and our future holiday homes and B&B La Source on https://www.instagram.com/lasource_bourgogne/. We don't have a website for it yet, the building works come first! :)
Hope you're having a wonderful summer!

I drove up the hill this morning to catch the internet. We're in a really beautiful valley but
we don't have any phone reception or just a very little bit on a good day but mostly none. So we
have two internet connections in our house. One is through a satellite dish and the other one
is a special antenna that we've put high up on our roof and it catches a signal from the
villages around us. But on bad days or maybe busy days it just won't work and I wanted to upload a
few stories on Instagram. One on my La Source which is the Instagram account for our future
bed and breakfast and holiday homes and one on my French vintage style which is the Instagram
account for my Brocante shop because that's open this afternoon and I wanted to post a few things
and then on a bad day like this it just won't upload. I mean I would have never thought that
was possible when I lived in the Netherlands and everything was just so easy and fast and
the internet connection was just wonderful. I mean even if you go walking here you don't have
internet connection throughout your entire walk. I cannot call a friend for example when I go
walking like I did maybe in the Netherlands. But I've also learned that when you're shut off or
caught off like that you do find more peace within yourself. So for example taking a walk
without calling a friend is a very different experience from taking a walk while discussing
your everyday stuff or having a good conversation with friends. So that's the upside of it. The
downside is that I sometimes have to drive my car here and make sure that because this is where I
have a good reception. So the past month July has been a very busy month in many ways but good busy.
I've spent lots of time on a big project for my training business and then we've had so many
friends visiting from around the world. We've got friends from Israel, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands,
the USA and we've spent such nice moments with them and showing them where we live, showing them
our region. And we've also taken a couple of day trips as a family. We wanted to stay home this
summer because we have so many projects to work on. We've made really good progress again on the tiny
house. I helped Olaf for two days. It was exhausting but it was so much fun to do that together.
We spend all of our days outside even you know when it's a bit more chilly. It's been a very
very strange summer in that respect. It's been chillier than it used to be or it should be.
We've had a little bit more rain but we're enjoying every minute of it. It's just, I mean
the beauty and the joy and the abundance is in all the simple things. So we're just having a calm
and relaxed summer at La Source, our beautiful place. I still pinch myself every day that this is
where we live. My friends Doug and Karen from the U.S. were here and we took a very special tour
through the wine region of Bonn with Melanie. And as you can see here my husband Olaf followed us
to take some shots.
