Shaving With Balaka Blade - The Oldest Made In Bangladesh DE Safety Razor Blade

Hello everyone, this is Amit Dhan of amitdhan.com Today, I'll have another episode of shaving video and I'm bringing this shaving video from a different part of the world which is in Dhaka, Bangladesh If this is your first time or a quick visit Thank you for your support On this hybrid channel, I'm always trying to get different ideas to take you beyond boundaries If you're into thinking outside the box, this is the channel for you If you're looking for more shaving videos, there will be links in the description box below So, wherever I go, I try to buy local shaving products and razor blades and if I find something, I try to make a video and I was looking for some shaving products in Bangladesh and it looks like I found something So, this is one of the oldest shaving blades in Bangladesh I believe this is the first blade in Bangladesh and also, I was able to buy a Bangladeshi shaving cream and then I bought a fake Gillette shaving brush which I have it right here and then I'm going to be using my Edwin Jagger razor blade and I'm going to shave and give you my opinion So, this is not my regular setup Not a regular camera, not a regular audio recorder So, everything is going to be different and you might hear some interference in the audio quality Sorry about that, but this is the best I can come up with So, I'm going to start opening up this blade So, this blade actually has a pricing here which is 15 Bangladeshi Taka What it means is that it's about 1.5 to 2 cents US So, actually I'm sorry, this is going to be 15 to 20 cents US If I'm not mistaken and converting the currency because 1 US dollar is about close to 100 Bangladeshi Taka So, this should be about 15 to 20 cents So, you can see that this is really cheap and this is for 5 blades So, we have here, this is the blade and each piece would be about 3 cents and even they have a wrapper here So, I'm just going to open this up So, let's raise the blade and you can see that this looks like this Balacca stainless and I'm going to put it on my Edwin Jagger which is right here So, you can see that you're going to hear lots of traffic noise outside because that's how it is here So, I'm going to just put it in here and put it in here So, I was able to install the blade and I'll just leave it here and let's take the fake Gillette shaving brush and I'm going to just wet it in the tap You might hear some echo because I'm in the washroom and it looks like it's creating echo and I think the audio is going to be a little bit muffled but that's how it is and I have taken some shaving cream which is a brand called Cool I was looking for more shaving cream but I was not able to find anything yet Hopefully, I'll find some more and I'll just wet my face with the water So, there's no hot water here This is just normal temperature and so this is going to be this way Let's see how much foam we can do So, this is probably a synthetic brush and it doesn't have that much good leather but it works and you can tell right away that this is a fake Gillette So, the shaving foam is not going to give you too thick leather but it works You can see that it's kind of watery leather So, I have... Let me grab my towel So, this is my Bangladeshi towel here and I'll just, you know, wipe this here I'm going to go with my razor So, I have the Malacca blade which is made in Bangladesh and I'm going to start shaving here and see how it goes It's not bad at all Let me just continue and I can tell you a little bit more and I'm going to shave this side of my face So, I have a lot more Bangladeshi travel video which I'm going to put a playlist link in the description box and you can watch that if you're interested So, here it looks like the leather is done So, I'm just going to apply a little bit more So far, I'm having an okay shave It's not too rough So, I bought a bunch of blades at one store and I made a separate short video about that Okay, so I'm just going to, you know, wash this So far, so good So, here in Bangladesh I don't think you need to use, like, you know, aftershave or anything because your skin is always kind of wet and oily because of the humidity It's very humid So, I'm not going to do a second pass Okay, so it should be okay So, just clean it up So, it feels like a mild razor or mild blade instead and I didn't have any contouring So, that's very good and it's a very forgiving blade You know, I didn't have any issue It feels smooth, like, you know, medium smooth It's not bad at all but it's not over smooth and it's not too rough So, I think it's staying somewhere in the middle But in terms of the quality I cannot say that this is a bad one because, you know, the price you pay and the quality you get I'm, you know, happy with the product I cannot really complain and definitely, you know, it's worth the cost and this is 100% made in Bangladesh and this is the oldest blade in Bangladesh So, so far definitely, this is worth trying and I'm happy that I was able to find the original and oldest blade in Bangladesh which is the Holaka blade and this is the first shave I've never done with this blade So, definitely it's worth the cost and the quality So, there's going to be a few more Bangladeshi shaving product videos if I get the time and definitely, you know, you can see them on this channel Thank you for watching For the next video, I will put a link on the screen So, I'll see you in the next video
