I've been filming so much the past two weeks! I'm happy to share the little Christmas event we had in our tiny village here. Every year we all light our exterior decorations and all the village's decorations at the same time. The mayor turns on the lights of our giant Christmas tree next to the school bus' stop. It marks the beginning of the holiday season here! Hope you like this little peek into our simple but joyful French country life!

Okay, the farmer just stopped to say that the hunters that are in the...
I just saw some cars there. The hunters that are in the
forest said that a couple of sheep have escaped
and they're walking in the street. So he's driving out there.
Oh yeah, I think I see them. They're trying to catch them.
That's the farm life, people. Life in the country.
Look how gorgeous the tree is. The color. Tomorrow is actually our
illumination, which is our yearly party. I don't know if that's the right
word. It's an event with all of the village where we all
light our Christmas decorations at the same time.
Our exterior Christmas decorations. So all day
tomorrow we're all going to be decorating the village.
Our own homes, but also the area around the bus stop where the kids are picked
up for school. And around five I think we're all going
to have drinks. And last year they had sausages, but we
had the virus last year so we couldn't make it.
So we're really hoping that this year we can.
That's the other farmers. Probably they went out.
This is what I love about living in such a small community.
Somebody sees a sheep, doesn't know whose it is.
We do a little couple of phone calls to a couple of farmers
and everybody just comes out and check. Like we're just
always looking out for each other and each other's animals.
I remember when Tigret was missing. Basically the entire village was looking
for her. So yeah I really love that about living in
such a small community. And the good thing I think
about ours is that gosh everybody's fasting today.
I don't know where you see the next one. Oh here's cows coming.
There's cows in there. They are probably one of the first ones that are being
brought in. I haven't seen them. Like most of the
cows are still out. It is December 2nd that I'm
recording this. And yeah it's really as you can see
it's starting to get very cold. So yeah they're bringing in the cows. Anyway
what I love about living in such a small community is that we're all looking
out for each other. And the good thing for our little
village for only 70 people maybe 75 is that we do all these events a couple
of times a year. And it really makes it makes you feel so at home. We've
been welcomed so warmly here. So that is really good.
So we need to put our decorations up. And let me show you. Last year we had a
big star that I made. I'll link that video up below. That was
hilarious. We put that up on the barn door when
that was still a barn door. But that is now a very nice looking window. And I
don't really know how we can attach it. So we either do it somewhere over there.
We lived in that old part of the house which I have now
decided to call the cold part of the house because that's
not heated. And we still use our bathroom and shower there.
So we had lights in that little tree. A little apple tree.
And now we've moved to this part of the house.
And there they go. The cows are going back in the barn for the winter.
Merry Christmas to you.
Very merry Christmas we'll have this year.
The Christmas I keep so near. Every song, every friend that comes along.
A very merry Christmas to you.
Sing along to the song. Make a wish, grab a kiss. Put another record on.
Wake the neighbors having fun. Down the street, Christmas trees.
Decorations, wanna greet all the Santa Claus when he arrives.
Let the reindeers see the light. A very merry Christmas we'll have this year.
A very merry Christmas, a joy for a cheer.
A very merry Christmas, oh let me hear you.
A very merry Christmas without old tears.
Every night, every day is a happy holiday.
Christmas we'll have this year.
A very merry Christmas I keep so near.
Every song, every friend that comes along.
A very merry Christmas to you.
