Garden Artwork Project. This morning I was delighted to receive a video to share with you. It’s from my friend Jules who made this piece of art during Lockdown. It’s so simple but stunningly effective and here he shows you how you can do the same. I hope you enjoy this video and maybe have a go at making one yourself.

Have fun in your gardens!
Janette, The Enthusiastic Gardener
Hi everyone, it's Jeanette, Enthusiastic Gardener.
And the reason I'm around the corner is because I'm testing out my new microphone,
which I had to buy because, as I said to my friend Sarah,
Hi Sarah! Sarah and I work together.
I think all my neighbours think I'm mad.
I'm the mad woman from Number 5 who shouts all the time in the garden.
So I've had to buy a microphone.
And it's not all about gardening, you know.
Oh no, gardening's a little bit.
You have to set the cameras up,
you have to make sure you're filming properly,
you have to get the angles right,
use the lighting.
You've no idea, I had no idea.
Anyway, I've got something very exciting today.
So I have another friend at school and his name is Jules.
And he has been such a huge support of my channel.
Thank you for that.
If you watch the video montages on the first Sunday of every month,
you'll see lots of photos of his garden.
And he sent in a video for me today.
And it's a video of his garden.
So it's a very brief garden tour.
But the main focus is a garden artwork project he and his wife put together,
which is fabulous.
It looks so simple.
And he explains how to do it in there.
And some people, such as you and I,
may take us a while to get these supplies together.
But Jules obviously had the supplies already.
Anyway, just before I show you the video,
I just want to show you this beautiful aeonium which Jules gave me.
Because his mum has a real knack of these.
He has them six, seven feet high, huge.
He had one that he gave to me.
And so I'm very pleased to be the owner of this new beautiful aeonium,
which is a succulent.
And in the winter, he puts them in the garage,
he wraps them up in fleece and he puts the pots in bubble wrap,
just to protect them all.
Well, obviously they're succulents,
and I should imagine they're used to being in warmer, hotter countries.
So I just wanted to show you that because I'm very grateful,
and I shall be looking after it when it has not died yet, Jules.
Anyway, let's have a look at Jules in his garden
and see his fabulous artwork project.
Morning, fans of the Enthusiastic Gardener.
I thought I'd share a small video clip of my garden,
but also some locked-down artwork.
Now, I'm sure some of you have had to have the odd alcoholic beverage,
and as such, you may have had a few of these left over.
These have been collected over quite some time,
not just the last couple of months, honest.
So we thought we'd use these corks creatively.
So we got two pieces of cardboard
from the packaging that some of them had arrived in,
and we drew two large circles,
and just using contact adhesive,
we started to glue them down,
starting from the middle and working our way outwards,
looking for different colours and shapes and patterns.
When we'd finished,
a friend over the road saw what we were doing
and donated the white corks in the middle,
and we used them to finish it off and give it a sharper edge.
When it was all done,
we then cut the outside and the inside pieces of cardboard away
and varnished it all to try and give it a bit more durability,
although the alcohol in the corks, I think,
hopefully will make those very durable.
And then all I did was simply screw it through the gaps in the cork
onto the door of the garden shed.
So, if you're feeling bored and need to do some recycling
and put those corks to a good use,
please feel free to have a go at our art challenge.
Keep safe!
So, what a great idea!
I'm definitely going to try that,
and I should imagine that the cork will last forever outside,
because obviously it's in liquid, isn't it?
It's varnished it all, so it's all protected.
Anyway, I'm going to try it, and I hope you do too,
and if you do, please send photos,
and I will see you all very soon,
and thank you for watching.
Bye!
