Our adventures on the island of Holbox Mexico have come to an end which means it's time for another travel day! After a short ferry ride to the mainland, we meet some really nice German travelers...their instagram is @_globelix and they are DEFINITELY worth a follow! We catch a couple of ADO buses to our final destination of Playa del Carmen Mexico where we quickly find the best chicken in town then we cover some of the changes in Playa del Carmen over the last year. Truth.

Next stop, the ferry pier.
We found another use for these masks.
And we started talking with some German travelers.
This is ADO Connect.
Oh, I got car sick on that one.
It was good, but not as good as these.
More of what's left of it.
This must be a fake video then.
Where do we go from?
Where do we go from here?
Next stop, the ferry pier.
The wheels on these Osprey bags
are really paying off in this dirt.
You know, only some of those
are power lines.
We bought our ADO tickets online,
which has been working good so far,
since there's not an ADO ticket office
over here on Kohlbosch.
We'll let you know if it works out.
Well, you'll know when we get on the bus or not.
We found another use for these masks
on a dusty island.
They were great for dust masks.
The two ferry services, the Noevi and Amadovi,
is way nicer. Look at this.
And they're exactly the same price.
Cushy chairs instead of a bench seat.
I'll put my mask back on.
One thing when you're going to Kohlbosch,
you'll come into town and you'll see
the ticket office for Kohlbosch Express
very first. You don't have to go to that one.
They leave every half hour and go
all the way to the pier. Not a big deal,
but if you just want to get going,
go to the pier to buy your ticket.
One of the keys to our traveling
is always building
extra time around everything.
This time, we got the
earlier ferry in.
We've sat here for an hour.
We have found it is much better to wait
than to run.
Our traveling has gotten a lot more
peaceful. The ants seem
to love me. Look at that.
I don't know why.
All of a sudden, the ants just are
biting me everywhere I go.
You're sweet like sugar.
I know this past week
we've been eating for dinner
all fruit.
Actually, I am sweeter.
Oh, diabetes
is so attractive.
We're just hanging out at the
bus stop in Chiquila
waiting for our bus to Cancun.
We started talking with some
German travelers that are heading up to the States
to do the national parks.
They have an Instagram and they're cool.
You should check them out.
Our Instagram name is
underscoreglobalics.
If you want, you can follow us.
Thank you.
We will put it right about there.
Because I cheated and had him type it into my phone.
Good to meet you guys.
Thank you.
Our favorite seats.
Our travel companions.
Hi.
Next stop, Cancun.
The ADO buses are really nice.
This is a great way to do it.
Now we have to hurry up and get our tickets for Playa.
I tried to buy them online but it wouldn't accept my payment.
Playa is not very long.
One more stop.
Playa del Carmen.
This is ADO Connect.
It's a sprinter van but it's going to take us
right down near the ferry pier
instead of up to the main terminal which is another
10 block walk or so for us.
This is going to be about a block from our hotel.
It is a tiny bit cramped.
Now to find our apartment.
I got car sick on that one.
Which is surprising.
This is our home in Playa del Carmen
for the next week.
Our bags already exploded and we went to Walmart
and grabbed a new kettle.
Let's see.
This is a pillow top.
You may have to
fight me
in getting out of bed in the mornings.
This is nice.
I actually get out of bed.
And it has a killer view.
There's the Caribbean
right there.
And that's 5th Avenue.
Playa del Carmen has changed a bit since the last time we were here.
But before we get into that
it's time to eat.
There used to be street vendors all throughout this park.
There's still a couple left
but we have something different planned today.
That is literally half
of the price on Hobo.
Similar chicken on Hobo
was 260 pesos.
It was good, but not as good as these.
Wow.
The waitress busted us. She said,
You were here yesterday, weren't you?
We said, Yeah, we'll be here tomorrow too.
It comes with rice, onions,
tomato sauce, roasted
habanero chili sauce,
tortillas,
and a cold Coca-Cola. Gracias, amiga.
A nice Coca-Cola
on a hot day.
Tastes really good.
My favorite are the wings
and the legs.
This doesn't have
spice. It's just tomato sauce.
And it's really hot.
You have to wait.
I can't pick it apart yet.
It's still really hot.
The pork helps.
The barbecued meat, the onions,
and the rice all together
really makes this a wonderful lunch.
And they are
definitely hot. They are burn your fingers
hot when you get them.
Really delicious chicken.
All of this with a quote for
150 pesos. Can't beat it.
It's about $8.
We will see you after lunch.
While the big stores like Mega are
still in business, there's been a lot of turnover
in the smaller stores.
Now we're off to see what Playa del Carmen
is named for.
The beach.
Or what's left of it.
We love Mexico.
We love the Yucatan. We love
Quintana Roo. But we also love the truth.
So if you're going to be offended by
an accurate portrayal of what the beaches
in Playa del Carmen have become,
you might want to tune out now because what follows
is not pretty.
There is some sand, but most of it
has been washed away.
There's a big news
story about how Sargassum
does not exist on the beaches of Quintana Roo.
This must be
a fake video then.
While the Sargassum is ugly and a little smelly,
it doesn't really bother me all that much
because it's natural. It's way better than
the tons of plastic which is
stuck in the Sargassum.
For reference, that's the Ferry Pier de Cozumel
right down there.
Playa del Carmen is named for.
Now we're off
to Playa del Carmen.
Click the thumbs up and subscribe!
No, that was good.
That was good.
