Weekend Getaway to BILTMORE ESTATE in Asheville, NC

So Dean and I are headed. His sister is watching the boys this weekend at our house. We, what time is it? It's almost six o'clock so we are driving the interstate that goes from Johnson City, Tennessee into North Carolina and it'll take us about an hour to get there. We're gonna stop and grab something to eat on the way. We'll stop in just a second as we go over Sam's Gap. That's what it's called. Get some pictures of the trees. Everything's super colorful and really pretty right now. So our last week of the trees looking really nice. So we wanted to take a little getaway down here. We're gonna visit Billmore House tomorrow. We are going to maybe do some antiquing if we can find some antique stores. I'm sure there's plenty of them. Yeah we just, we don't know how much time we're gonna have because tomorrow we have a chocolate and wine tasting at Billmore House and then we have like a house entry if we decide we want to go through the house and there's shopping and things to do like that there. So we have season passes and we like to go down at least once every three months or so which this year I don't think we went at all. I went with some friends in early spring and then we didn't go all through the summer just with all the covid craziness. And so this is the first time we're using our season passes and we'll probably go again around Christmas hopefully. We'll see. But anyway yeah we just wanted to get a little weekend away just the two of us. Where's Chris? Yeah well you have to have reservations. Yeah reservations. We don't have reservations anywhere so we probably won't be eating there. We're gonna find a good mom and pop. Yeah so I guess we'll just get sort of close to Asheville and then we'll see what there is to eat decide what we want. I'm just trying to think what else. We don't we don't have any plans for tonight. We're just gonna stop and eat and then we're gonna get our hotel and tomorrow sometime mid-morning we'll decide if we're gonna go into Asheville and look around or go to some antique stores or if we'll go to Billmore early and just kind of do some things around there. So we don't have the weekend planned. We're just gonna see what. All right so hopefully we'll get up here to a good place where we can stop and I can show you guys what the trees look like here in East Tennessee. Where do we cross over into North Carolina? Is it it's not here it seems. Yeah that's still Tennessee right? On the way back down. On the way down it crosses over so. I think we'll find out. It'll be what the trees look like in Eastern Tennessee, Western North Carolina. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We got some burger and then we're splitting the Santa Fe chicken dessert. That's the plan woman. It's on cake right? With ice cream. Do you like these tomatoes? They're good. They're yummy. The sauce is awesome. What is that like a jalapeno cheese sauce? Something like that yeah. This, the red sauce is really good too. And some food. Good morning friends. Dean just went in to check us out of the hotel and then we're getting ready to go grab some breakfast somewhere and the plan is to try to find some antique stores here in Asheville a little bit this morning and then probably around lunchtime we're gonna go ahead and head to the Biltmore and have some lunch there and you know hike, walk through the gardens, shop a little, do things like that before our appointments for the different things we're doing at Biltmore start today. So I'm trying to stay out of the sun so I look really weird. My cap cut off. Anyway so there's my hubby. So we're gonna get going to breakfast if we can which lists the wines and the chocolate you're dealing with. Oh yeah they're really orange. There's more over there. There's one right there that's white. There's another one. Oh I do see the white one. But you can't see the orange ones on the camera anyway. But you can definitely see the white ones. There's another one coming up that's white. Oh look there's an orange one. I don't think I can see it on camera. There are a bunch. Are those like lilies? Oh wow he's a big dude. He said they were called? Coins. Coins. There's an orange one coming to the top right inside of him. Taking time to see him in the tree now. Hi buddy. You want to visit our house? Look at all of them. I wonder if people feed them and they're not supposed to but I wonder if they Like just little spots where there's the plants are kind of not so close you know. And we have a little place to come sit. That's very pretty right there. You're kind of handsome too. Hey guys sorry for the junky lighting. It's pretty low and probably really grainy looking on film. But anyway we just got home from our trip to Asheville this weekend. We drove home. We stopped at Applebee's and grabbed some appetizers for dinner on the way home. We just got home. My sister-in-law left and I'm unpacking and we've kind of put the boys to bed. So anyway I am really tired. It was just like I said a quick trip, quick little weekend trip to Asheville. It was a lot of and just been the majority of the day at Biltmore. Just kind of not having any specific plans but just kind of perusing and doing whatever we wanted. But anyway I'm gonna jump on here and end this video and I will talk to you guys later. Bye!
