People often ask me what they can do to break the cycle of depression.
We all go through it at some point in our lives, so what do you think?
What do we do to break the cycle of depression?
You know, it seems to me one of the easiest things, and it's not an easy topic, right?
One of the easiest things that can get you out of that cycle really fast is to do something for somebody else.
I mean, it's been well documented, this helper's high, when you volunteer and help somebody out.
When I'm depressed, I'm usually connecting with myself.
It's all about my world, what's not going right, what I'm missing, what I'm losing, what I never will have.
If I can just go and help somebody else, whether it's a kid visiting the children's hospital, smiling at somebody,
that tends to just brighten you up pretty fast, it seems.
I think for me it's being around positive people, people that are doing well,
people that are just doing great things helps me to get out of that depression situation.
One thing that I have found actually is something really simple.
Every night before you go to bed, think about three things that you're thankful for every day.
If you have a spouse, talk about it with them, telling each other the three things that you're thankful for.
I also just find having a regular routine and exercise, those kinds of things,
just doing the right things over and over again, even though you may not feel like it,
when you do the right things and you exercise, you begin to feel better about your life.
There's a saying, this thing will pass, and it will pass.
Yeah, it will. Thank you, guys.
