The 2021 Ford F-150 Larian.
What's up guys?
Welcome back to another episode of Cars Unlocked.
We just went and saw my friends at Edler and Ford in St. Catharines, Ontario.
They're your go-to Ford guys if you are in the Niagara region.
They just gave us this 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat.
We're going to go through all the ins and outs.
Before we do, hit that subscribe button.
Hit that like button.
Don't forget to follow me on Instagram.
And yes, I'm on TikTok now.
So if you want to see me on TikTok, follow me on TikTok.
Let's get into the video.
So behind me is the 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat.
This one is the 502A equipment group.
Comes with quite a few added features.
The FX4 off-road package.
The chrome appearance package.
Let's take a look and start with the side profile here.
A lot of chrome comes all throughout the vehicle with this chrome appearance package.
You can see it has chrome handles.
Chrome mirror caps.
Our mirror caps are power folding.
We do have our puddle lamps as well equipped with the mirror caps.
LED turning signals.
And then I like this functional side vent here.
All in chrome with our F-150 Lariat badging.
And then it brings our attention down to these 20 inch chrome wheels here.
And then back into these six inch running boards.
Makes it a lot easier when you're getting in and out of the vehicle there.
Rear privacy glass as well is going to help protect your kids from the UV rays.
Let's check out the front.
Along the front we can see that slopey front hood that Ford's added to the F-150s.
And then the chrome continues on our front grille.
We have the chrome front bumper as well as our chrome tow hooks.
Going to come with all our LED headlighting as well.
Rain sensing wipers.
This one comes equipped with the Ford Co-Pilot as well.
So it's going to help protect you and keep your family safe while you're on the road.
Under the hood here.
Let's see what we're working with.
This one comes with a 3.5 liter Ford EcoBoost engine with the V6.
And it's going to be equipped with the 10 speed automatic electronic transmission.
That's going to pump out about 400 horsepower and 500 pounds feet of torque.
You're obviously going to get the electronic 4x4
on those tough days in the snow or at the job site.
And you're going to get about 12 liters for every 100 kilometers.
Moving on to the back.
You can see that chrome comes on our back bumper.
We have our rear parking sensors.
LED taillights.
And then we have our backup camera right below our handle there.
It's also going to come with this light.
That's going to help you see where your tailgate is at nighttime.
You're going to get 14,000 pounds of towing.
So it can tow pretty much whatever you need.
And then you do have the dampening tailgate.
So it comes down nice and easy.
And then Ford's thought of you while you're on the job site.
There's some measuring tape right on the tailgate here as it folds down.
So you can make those quick measurements without having to dig for your measuring tape.
If you're accessing the bed, it's nice and easy with this tailgate step.
So you can just pop it open here and then step on into the bed.
There's a few features in the bed that I like.
So here's the 120 volt power outlet.
That's so you can charge your tools.
And then we do have all of our cargo lighting.
So it just makes it easier when you're working at nighttime.
So there's a few ways you can enter the vehicle.
You can use the key pass system right on the door.
You can use the button to lock and unlock the door.
And then you can also remote start the car to start it up.
So you just need to click and hold the remote start button twice.
And there it is.
It's going to start up and I'm good to jump inside.
So now that I've jumped in, I just need to put my foot on the brake
and push the start button here just so it recognizes my key.
And then this is the beauty of this Lariat package.
I jump into this gorgeous black leather.
Everything is nice and laid out with the white stitching.
You can see on the door, we do have the stitching along the door.
And then we have our three memory positions for the seat.
It's an eight-way adjustable driver's seat
with the three memory positions, heated and air conditioned.
I grip my hands on this nice leather-wrapped heated steering wheel.
And then I have all my cruise control,
all my radio controls right on the wheel as well.
This is one of my favorite things when you start it up here.
Before you put it in drive, you can see that the shifter knob
tucks away and folds down and it folds back up.
So it just helps create a lot of space.
I love this shifter knob.
It merely makes it easy when you're driving
and you can hide it when you're not using it.
Behind my steering wheel, I do get this nice digital gauge cluster here.
We have a digital tachometer, a digital speedometer.
And then we have a few different configurations we can set up.
You can add or remove screens, things like trip computer,
fuel economy, your driver assistance.
This one's going to come with the full driver assistance package.
So things like your adaptive cruise control,
your speed limit assist, your lane keeping assist,
the pre-collision assistant, your rear view camera with the parking aid,
your BLIS blind spot information system.
There's a ton of safety features in this thing.
And you can keep just scrolling through and customize this however you want.
When we move on to the right side here, we got a ton of things going on here.
My attention immediately gravitates to this 12-inch infotainment system.
It's going to come with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity.
We can do Bluetooth music streaming.
We can do our navigation, our GPS.
And then it is going to come equipped with the B&O sound system.
So phenomenal sound system as well.
Comes upgraded with this Lariat package.
You can sync your apps.
Different controls here.
There you can see our camera.
I do like this nice wide camera.
I really like this screen better than the tall screen that they have in the Ford Explorers.
This is a nice and vivid backup camera.
We can have our parking assistant.
We can have our auto park brake.
So it will help apply the brake for you.
And then we have all our trailer assistance here.
So our trailer backup assistant, our brake controller, our 4x4 mode.
And then all of our temperature control.
This is pretty standard.
Nothing's really changed here with the temperature control.
Power outlet and our 12-volt.
And then down below is our USB for charging our phone.
And then there's a little phone case here that I can store my phone in.
Ample cup storage as well.
Two cup holders.
And then there's another little phone slot to put your phone while you're driving.
Being the super crew, you get the four doors.
And then you jump into this massive backseat.
A ton of space back here.
These seats are heated.
So perfect for your kids.
Two cup holders.
And then we have a cup holder in the door.
And there's a little cup holder for your juice box there.
We have a power outlet as well if they want to charge your phone.
Look how much legroom I have back here, guys.
I'm 5'9 and I got a ton of space.
And then I got to show you this.
The rear seats fold up.
And then you pretty much have a flat storage area.
So if you do the IKEA things, you buy a dresser, you can toss it back here.
As opposed to worrying about it sliding around in the bed.
It's hot out there, guys.
We are very excited to jump inside and turn the AC on.
Let's talk about how this thing drives.
Nothing, in my opinion, beats an F-150 in the truck world.
This one is the 3.5 EcoBoost.
I do like how it accelerates.
I've always been a 5.0L V8 guy with the Fords.
But comment down below which engine configuration you would go with with this truck.
There is the smaller EcoBoost.
There is this 3.5, the 3.5 Turbo, the 5.0L V8.
So a ton of different engine configurations for you to choose from.
And that's the advantage of Ford.
You can customize your whole truck for the towing, whatever you're doing.
You can really make the truck your own.
This one takes off like incredible.
And towing is a big advantage of this one too.
We're gonna jump right onto the on-ramp here and hit the acceleration and see how it takes off.
Like I said, 400 horsepower, 500 pounds feet of torque.
And yeah, it is smooth.
We're going about 90 right now on this on-ramp.
90 kilometers an hour.
And it doesn't feel like uncomfortable when you're turning.
It doesn't feel loose.
Like I didn't need to slow down.
Yeah, huge acceleration when you're taking off.
Big thing when you're driving the truck, you want to kind of learn about the blind spots
and the viewing angles.
Viewing angles are nice.
As I like look around here, there's very few blind spots.
And then obviously you have the Ford Co-Pilot.
I do like how you can turn on and off the auto start stop assist.
That's a big bonus.
If you don't like it, you can turn it off or you can turn it on.
But now we're pushing 140 kilometers an hour and it's still very quiet.
I didn't even realize how fast I was going because I was talking to you guys.
But very, very quiet engine.
That's one of the biggest difference between this and the V8.
But I certainly love the way it drives.
Bringing this car back to Edler and Ford.
Guys, if you have any questions about this vehicle or any Ford vehicles,
make sure you contact them.
We're going to put their website in the description below.
Special thanks to those guys.
