2 nights camping in my Dutch army canvas tent with my dog Tyson found a nice island with lots of wood to burn nice weather for a change and it was nice sitting out by the fire with no wind or rain love my tent nice and warm big thanks for watching for them who wish to donate to the videos https://www.paypal.me/carlisle195
I'm packing my food bag and I've got my canvas tent in there.
You can see the shape of it in there, along with all my food.
So I'm going to spend the first night here.
You can see the stars coming out already.
We're just having a mooch around. There's tons of wood.
So we don't have to worry about that.
I'm just having a good little scope around.
The tent is up. I'm just going to get the roll mat in now.
It's self-inflatable, or not self-inflatable really.
You know what they're like.
They never really inflate on their own.
Tyson's mooching sticks over the air there.
Well at least if half the world, well almost all the world is in lockdown
then I am on my own little island here.
So I shouldn't get bothered off anyone.
Right, so at the top I've got my rucksack,
my heated jacket, dog's blanket,
my British Army Arctic sleeping bag,
my snug plack blanket,
and my inflatable roll mat.
And that'll do, Tyson and me.
Gets in the sleeping bag with us, so it's plenty of room in there.
I'm going to load the biscuits on the plate.
She's got her back from my fire pit,
and I've shored up the sides with all the chillies out of there.
It's a lot of wet stone, but my tent's about a metre and a half away from it,
so it'll be fine.
I'll have a small fire to start with.
Dry it out gradually instead of just full on.
Tyson's still chewing sticks and bushes.
It is nice to be inside a tent with a fire in front of it again.
I've missed using my old canvas tent.
Got a few nice chunky logs there to start the fire to,
or to keep it going, sorry.
Bright stars.
So even though I've got a massive fire going,
I'm still going to use my Jetboil just because, one, it's fast,
I don't have to get out my tent, and I love it.
Wait till you see in the morning, in daylight, the spot I've picked.
It's epic.
So I've put my 4.5 DD tarp over the top of my tent
just because I love this tent because it's nice and cold on the ground dwelling,
especially with the thick basin,
but unfortunately no matter what I do to my four that I have,
they always leak at the zips in heavy rain.
It's just one of them things.
So I always just put a tarp over the top of it,
and also it makes for easy carrying wet canvas.
So yeah, that's the Dutch Army Canvas Tent.
I've used them for about seven years now.
Robust and heavy as heck.
I'm going to sit and chill by the fire.
There's a frost starting to creep onto my tarp.
Morning all. It's 8 a.m.
Massive difference sleeping on this thick air bed than there is the cobblestones, obviously.
Yeah, I'm going to get up and get my fire re-going because it's completely out.
There might be some hot embers.
Beautiful morning, eh?
No rain or heavy wind.
Just fire.
I've got a nice big pile of firewood and a bench.
Sausages are starting to cook nicely.
Looking forward to these.
Sausages are almost done.
Just turn them around a bit.
Gorgeous.
I've just seen Tim doing a solo camp in his hammock over the way,
the other side on flood plain camp.
So I was shouting over the river having a conversation
and he's going to pack up and come round and I'm going to make him a hammock spot over here.
So yeah.
Looks like it's going to be a nice big bonfire tonight, eh?
Loads of firewood.
Got Tim a hammock spot in there.
Tim managed to find us alright.
Such a poser, Tim.
Tim's putting his hammock up in this space.
Crazy space.
Nice one.
I got new pants.
Did you see the rip?
I ripped them coming back from the village last time.
The entire crotch out of them.
Fairly nice little hammock spot, look.
I don't have bungees, I'm tent camping.
I've got some, like five or something.
It's pitch black already.
Wood on the fire so it's a bit smoky.
Tyson's in the tent chilling in the warmth.
Me and Tim are just kind of spread around sitting on the stones
just having a good old gas and chat because it's been a while since we've seen each other.
Just a good catch up and that.
He's over there just setting up his stuff.
The last of it anyway is set up in the bushes.
As usual, I've burnt all the wood and we're out for more.
I got a little bit bored this morning and I made a little shelter just playing around.
Just a little lean-to with a beam I found.
So I have got the frying pan on.
Heating that bad boy up.
Got some oil here somewhere.
Garlic infused oil.
And I have sliced chicken breasts here.
I'm going to fry them in there.
And I've got some vegetable mix.
Wraps, sort of fajitas.
Got some spice here.
Put the spices in.
There we go.
I've even put some noodles in there to soak up all the juice.
Again, another amazing sleep.
Mr Tyson too.
Mr Tyson!
There you go.
Beautiful day.
Jet boiler go for morning coffee.
I think I just heard Tim waking up.
Fire's going again.
Well everyone, that's me all packed up.
Tim's going to stay for a couple of hours.
Bye!
Well guys, that's it for now.
We'll catch you all again soon.
Stay safe.
