Wyoming Heifers (Part 1)

The end of September and the month of October are among the busiest times on the ranch! We spend countless hours rounding up our cows from their summer pasture to be brought home to their winter pasture. Our cows spend the summer on three different forest service permits on the Black Hills National Forest. But our replacement heifers spend the summer on some private land in Wyoming.

Today, we are spending the day moving the heifers from one pasture to another. They will stay in this pasture for about a month until we come and haul them home. It’s a beautiful day and it was fun to spend it with my parents.
