It finally happened, the Djembe is done, the number of different skills I had to learn in order to complete this project was staggering, thus making this my hardest build to date. I hope you all enjoy, and look out for the "easter egg" at the end of the video, a place people rarely go to.

Think about you when I'm making a mistake.
Waiting, wondering.
Out of my mind.
I'm the soul challenger.
I'm the road damager.
Molding the straight magical.
Gifts the sky, brings flowers in the strong growing.
The heroes built out in the breath of the spirit.
Lights in the universe resonate to your heartbeat
and your faith.
Now, break it all down for me.
Great day, love, who is I, sir?
Take me from my love despair.
Hold me closely, whisper in my ear.
I got my own reasons.
I love you, my dear.
Light in my sight.
Comfort and carry me to my new home.
In your heart.
Let your soul free to roam.
Get back now before I take some action.
Make your hands and your clap that uh!
Of what's happened.
All the waves are a crashing.
All the throats are a gasping.
All the triggers are passing.
All the lights are a flashing.
All to the rhythm of a passion.
Oh, love, please bring me shelter.
Please bring me shelter from your storm.
Oh, please bring me shelter.
Please bring me shelter from your storm.
Oh, sun, won't you shine on me?
Won't you shine on me when the rain has come?
Oh, sun, won't you shine on me?
Won't you shine on me when the rain has come?
Sun comes up and rises high.
It's so hot it's gonna make me cry.
But you're rising, rising to my heart.
To the river, to the boat.
This land can't die without it.
Desert streams bring people to this earth.
All the water's gone.
All the trees are gone.
There's no hope.
But I still can't rest my head alone.
I'm sweating.
I didn't know where else to go.
I was paid to shoot a man.
I just shot him and then I ran.
I didn't even get the money I owed.
I turned around and took to the road.
I've been wandering to where they're from.
And made my way to Chicago.
I see the fire of the barrel.
And bullet fly like an arrow.
I see the trouble in the poor man's eyes.
I see his soul take to the skies.
Go away.
Yes, I'll go away.
Oh, I'll go away.
Yes, I'll go away.
Oh, oh, oh, oh.
I've got a home.
My stomach's turning.
I keep the radio on.
I'm going to fail again.
There's a place I know.
There's some people there that I know are evil.
But I just don't care.
There's a feeling in me that I can't control.
It's the type of sorrow that'll hurt my soul.
I can be my own type of lover.
I can't go on until I understand.
I hear the thunder clap.
I hear the wind and rain.
It's a rip in space.
It's my cold, hard shame.
Doctor, doctor, please cure what's ailing me.
Please give me a prescription and make my heart free.
There's a revolution.
There's an execution.
There's a resistance.
There's a feeling rising up through my bones.
My bones.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So it's the next day.
And as you can see.
The skin is dry at this point.
And since it's dry, it's also contracted a little bit.
So now I can remove the elastic band.
Now, this is a makeshift pulling table.
And I might need to change this wooden handle with a metal one.
If it won't hold up to the stresses of pulling the rope.
But we will have to see.
And basically what this does.
And I hope that you can see everything here.
Presumably the jumbo is propped here.
Against these two vertical columns.
But right now I'll show it to you from here.
So you can see what is happening.
I'm using this puller string.
I'm gonna call it like that.
Which is latching on.
Like so.
To the rope.
Now this rope.
This part of the puller.
Is passed through a pulley down here.
Let me check that you can see it. Yes.
This is the pulley.
And it is caught here by this.
Those two things are called cleats.
And they are used for boating.
Very useful item.
And once this string is latched here.
When I pull the handle.
It also pulls the rope.
There is a resistance.
There is a feeling.
Rising up.
Through my bones.
My bones.
Yeah.
Shows in the light of day.
And finally.
The jambe all done.
Skinned, tightened.
As you can see.
I've added a small carrying handle.
Works like this.
Obviously.
And although you can't see it from this angle.
I've wrapped the rest of the slack that we had.
From pulling the verticals.
Down here.
And I will show it to you in a minute.
And the reason we are keeping this slack on the drum.
Is so we could use it later.
If we want to create diamonds.
Crossing some of the verticals.
To tune it even further.
Please bring me shelter.
Thank you for joining me on this many weeks journey.
In creating this jambe.
I hope to see you back in my shop really soon.
Oh sun.
Won't you shine on me.
When the rain has come.
Thank you for watching.
