So today we're checking out a new bike park that I have not seen much coverage of.
It's called Wolf Bike Park in Masonville, Quebec.
Saw a few Instagram clips.
It looks like there's a really cool pro line and some pretty cool advanced features,
but it's only on 15 acres of land.
It's a really small bike park, but we just talked to the owner who checks you in,
and it's a really welcoming environment.
So I'm really excited to check it out and see what it's all about.
Yeah, they have a really nice map.
They even have it in dark mode.
So it's not blinding you.
That's a really nice map.
Start here and go up Portage and probably just start with some of these trails and go from there.
Everything here is meant to be like sessioned.
So you kind of do a little bit of one trail, you come down, do a little bit of another.
Wow, they even make more stuff off the backside.
Oh, that's the progression drop set she was talking about.
Honestly, I really like the vibe of this place.
All right, kind of a pump track like trail.
Which way do I go?
Looks like there's a bunch of options there.
No, this is a bit of a hip.
Oh, okay.
You can do the A-line or do the...
I want to show you this trail.
It's really well built.
All right, we'll have to do that again.
There's definitely some line options in there.
I would say that that was a great use of terrain.
Yeah, even like right there where it's super flat.
I was carrying good speed.
How's it going?
Man, I was like, that guy looks so familiar.
I haven't heard your voice.
What's going on, man?
Not much.
Are you from the area?
From J, but it's my first time here.
Okay, yeah.
This is my first time here too.
It's kind of a hidden gem, honestly.
I saw this on Greg Callahan's Instagram, like after the Sugarloaf PWS.
I'm like, where is this?
Because I know he's like nearby.
Yeah, yeah.
And sure enough, I was like, oh crap.
Like, that's like super easy to get to.
Let's go check it out.
What's your name?
Chris.
Phil, nice to meet you, man.
Nice to meet you.
Enjoy it.
Yeah, you too.
Want to go check out the drops?
How do we get down there?
I think...
I think it's over...
Yeah, there it is.
All right.
Oh, wow.
This jump reminds me a lot of the tombstone jump at Highland.
Sensory overload.
I feel like this is what a lot of communities need.
Just like a small, like little gem.
Nice, guys.
This place is really cool.
I feel like a kid at a candy store.
That's the kind of jump I love.
Very good.
And see, this is the jump I was telling you that begins the pro line.
You've got the little dog.
You've got the big dog.
You have the drop zone as well.
Gotcha.
Yeah.
That one.
You like that?
It has really good flow.
There's a lot of places that build flow trails that are not fun.
That don't really flow.
Yeah, exactly.
I'm gonna follow you.
Get some footy.
Get the footy.
I'm ready.
All right, so how do we get back up?
You're just climbing back up that?
Am I recording?
I'm recording.
It's always hard to tell how jumps are built.
There's a lot of, like, cool options here.
It's actually kind of hard to tell where the trails are going because there's so many options.
Yeah, you used to have the option to land and do this.
I mean, you still can.
All right, no one's coming.
This trail is very fun.
Oh, okay, we're here.
We're following the trail to go back up to the climb again.
I also have the camera set in a different mode right now, so see how it goes.
Hyperview.
Oh, is this the, like...
Super wide.
Ah, that's what you're supposed to do.
I knew when I hit it last time.
That wall ride felt like it was supposed to go to something.
Probably gaps in those rollers if I knew them better.
All right, let me know what you think of Hyperview in the comments below.
Do you guys like it?
Don't like it too wide?
Too distorted?
It's like, look, when you're looking straight ahead, it looks fine.
But the minute I start looking side to side,
all these trees start to warp.
Very funky and looks super weird.
All the berms are fun.
Short and steep.
All right, all right, this time I put the camera back into, uh,
non-super, or I put it back into Superview.
So we're not in Hyperview anymore.
That turns a little tight.
All right, this time...
Go this way.
I think there's like a gap there.
Ah, I could spend some time here.
I should add that run, I actually had the camera set to a new mode called Auto Boost.
It crops in on the sensor when it gets really rough to stabilize the footage a little bit better.
And then when you're kind of going through the like smoother stuff, it kind of zooms back out.
I don't know how much it crops in.
So I'm really curious to know if that looked worse or better than normal.
So we'll see when I go to edit this video.
But you guys already know because you're watching this video.
I have no idea because I'm seeing with my eyes right now.
I'm not seeing what you guys are seeing through the camera.
So if there's something going on with the camera,
I don't get to see it until I'm back home editing.
Or if I really wanted to, I could pull out my phone and fiddle with that and
watch a connection cut out because the GoPro app is not the best and get frustrated.
Or I could just see how it looks when I get home.
All right, what are we working with over here?
Very cool.
We got a bit of a shark fin drop over here and a standard seven to eight foot drop over there.
No, I hit the small side first and then...
All right, looks like you have to put one crank in for the big side.
All right, you good?
Drop it in.
All right, I could probably use another crank or so on that one.
I have PTSD of like overshooting jumps.
I'd rather undershoot a jump than overshoot because overshooting a jump is...
A lot of times there's way more energy and you're going to flat.
Whereas like if you case a jump, it's a little bit less energy
and you're coming up short higher up in the air.
So it's actually a little bit safer.
Not that either one is fun.
All right, drop it in.
There you go.
That was a much better one on my part.
Oh, I'm good at doing that to you.
Okay, let's try the big dog.
So this time we're going to hit the big dog and this is a prill line.
Okay, a little bit of a dead sailor on my part, but honestly, the speed is really good.
So let's do that again.
I'm good at knowing like...
That's nice.
I want to fix my divots.
I want to check out the rest of this trail before hitting it blind.
So we're going to cruise down and see what we've got going on.
Okay, prill line to the right.
Oh, so there's essentially kind of two trails.
Yeah, I would say that's adequately rated.
12, 15 out, 8 to 10 down.
And then the baby side is about 4 feet down and 15 feet, 12 feet out, something like that.
Go ahead and try to yank for the baby side from here.
Yeah, that wooden feature is really cool.
Yeah, so you got a bit of a jump on and jump off.
And then there's the big booter, which Eve said she would open if I wanted.
Though rain is supposed to come and I don't want to add too much work for her.
So a little context about this place.
This is built on a small parcel of land, about like 15 acres.
And it's owned by two people and it was built by two guys.
They're not the landowners, but they've done a really incredible job building out here.
I'm sure there's been some extra helping hands on top of that.
Search for Wolf Bike Park and it's in Masonville, Quebec.
And it should pop right up.
They have a really good online ticket purchasing system.
And when you get there, there will be somebody patrolling the area.
So it's either going to be Eve or her husband, I believe.
And she'll have some wristbands and make sure that you sign the waiver.
Overall, I'm really, really impressed with this place.
It's a really cool use of space.
I don't know.
There's a lot of bike parks that are really big that I feel like
there's a lot of wasted potential.
And I think this is the opposite.
It's a very dense, good use of space.
Like every foot of the trail, there's something going on.
It's very fun.
And the cool thing is there's plenty of beginner stuff, too.
So it's like it's a cool place to come with people who are looking to progress.
All right.
This time we're going to do a full pull of the Eclipse Pro Line Trail.
So let's go.
I haven't hit this jump yet.
Oops.
A really cool jump.
That was so cool.
I was mentioning in my last video that when you said,
I look good in the camera, I didn't reciprocate.
I got yelled at.
So, yes, Hayley, you do look good.
All right, let's do this trail.
This trail is so much fun.
All right, I'm going to hike up and go do the big boosties.
All right, are you good?
All right, dropping in.
Oh, that's so much fun.
Yeah, I'm about that.
That's a really cool trail.
When I did it my first time, I cased it a little bit.
But it's a really good jump.
I would pump that roller.
I could also just do it just so you can see the speed.
Would that be OK?
Yeah, yeah.
OK, cool.
All right, dropping in.
I could have hit it with less speed.
Even if you case that, it's not a bad jump to case because it's a step up.
I'd rather do that than overshoot it.
Cool.
Thanks.
Yeah, no worries.
And thanks for coming down to our neck of the woods.
Do you still have my phone?
Let me try that.
All right, there we go.
This place is totally worth the drive.
It is so cool.
Anyways, this was my first video back since my wrist injury.
Still not 100%, but it's getting better.
So I think we'll start getting back into the swing of things in the next few videos.
So I'll see you guys next time.
Peace.
