Came to the sad realization that middle of the month in November now
and the original plan was to go back sometime in the beginning of December
to start tasting all the menu items for the new ramen restaurant.
So if that's still the case, I'm only gonna be here for maybe two weeks, three max.
That honestly just made me really sad.
Gotta just clinch every single day I can and just stuff as much food in my mouth as possible.
Starting right now.
This place is a really popular burger chain here in South Korea, Bass Burger.
And this one is located right by my Airbnb, about a three-minute walk.
Never knew it existed until I started looking for this burger chain today.
Even though it's like mid-afternoon, this is the start of a great evening of food.
This burger actually reminds me of an In-N-Out burger.
Really fresh ingredients.
Fried colors, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, double beef patty on a soft little bun.
Cajun fries.
Delicious.
I never want to let this go.
Ever.
This is just everything I want in a good burger.
Look how juicy the little thin patties are.
Cooked perfectly medium.
That's all juice, not from the tomatoes.
That's from the patties themselves.
This taste even reminds me of an In-N-Out burger, but better.
It's like a better version of an In-N-Out burger.
The patties are way more flavorful.
This whole thing is more buttery.
The vegetables are fresher.
There's more of a crunch.
If there is a perfect balance between the use of veggies and meat, this will be it.
When I first saw this, I'm like, that was a lot of veggies on here.
It's like three stories of veggies, but oh.
But just a perfect complement to the meat.
And the patties, even though they're small, oh man, but they are mighty.
Tons of juice, loads of flavor.
I love this place.
Can't believe it's only like three minutes walk from my house.
This is dangerous.
Being so close to me, I'm gonna want this all the time.
This is even better on the bottom.
I saw the juices kind of soak into the bottom part of this bun, as well as that oozy cheese.
It was an amazing fast food burger.
If I wasn't gonna go eat a lot more food right now, I would order at least five, six of these.
Oh, they actually have a food challenge.
I think, I think if you can eat 10 of these, you win something.
Telling you right now, eating 10 of these for me, wouldn't even call that a food challenge.
I just call that a good time.
Oh, I gotta stop myself.
You know what, I'm only having barbecue tonight, so maybe one more burger.
I want to try their Hawaiian.
He said it was really, really good.
Also, something else that's really cool when you eat here,
they give you all-you-can-eat homemade potato chips.
These are great potato chips.
I feel so weak.
This wasn't part of the plan.
I'm supposed to eat one burger, I'm gonna eat barbecue.
I have no self-control.
I really don't.
Here it is, the Hawaiian burger.
That looks so pretty.
Bacon, cheese, pineapples, lettuce.
The only thing missing here is one patty.
Like, I wish it was this double patty.
God, this looks so tantalizing.
Look how beautiful.
You guys have no idea how good this smells.
I wish, I wish you could smell this right now.
This will make you lose your mind.
Oh yeah, there's so much love I have for this burger.
Again, just the amount of juice flowing out of this little patty.
It's almost supernatural.
Combine that with the bacon and the juicy pineapple.
Now I'm pretty sure about it.
Ten of these, I'm doing my sleep.
Also, the great spicy mayo sauce they have on top of this burger.
I mean, this thing is just crispy where it needs to be,
juicy where it needs to be, tender where it needs to be,
and where it needs to be is right here.
I gotta leave this place.
Otherwise, I'm gonna spend the rest of my night here.
And I gotta go meet a friend.
Don't tell her I ate two burgers, okay?
All right, they wanted to come back here.
Oh, that looks good.
So this is the truffle beef cutlet sando.
And they also have a butsa sando.
The most popular thing here is the tamago santo.
But I'm getting the butsa.
So it's pork cutlet with the egg inside.
I don't know about you.
I love little hidden egg.
That's awesome.
It's like a little donut stick with that spicy mayo sauce.
A pork cutlet sandwich with an egg inside.
It's not only exception, it's exceptional.
It's really good.
Oh, super crispy outer layer with juicy pork.
And the egg is so tender.
But then the kicker is the awesome wasabi sauce they put in the sandwich.
That kind of ties everything together.
Otherwise, I feel like egg with a fried outer shell with pork might be a little too much.
But with that sauce providing a nice little kick.
Perfect.
You have some of this leftover spicy mayo.
This is a fantastic sandwich.
This place kind of has mixed reviews.
At least where this sandwich is concerned.
This is really, really good.
Also for around $5, that's worth it.
I think this is it.
Oh, that looks good.
Even from the picture, that looks good.
Yiliu.
This is lamb barbecue.
Oh, it's right there.
Oh, there is definitely going to be some weight.
And after two burgers and a sandwich, I'm still starving.
Very proud of myself right now.
I just went inside to write my name on the little pad on the waiting list.
Oh, that smell clogged me over the head.
I'm calling it right now.
I'm doing the whole Babe Ruth calling the home run thing on this place.
It's going to be good.
Okay, so it's on the Michelin Guide, which no one cares about that.
We proved that already in the last episode.
But this apparently is a big deal.
So this is like the Korean Michelin.
You don't know what this is?
Yeah, I don't know.
You remember, Christine.
Apparently, that's the biggest deal.
These are all K-pop idols?
Singer, comedian, comedian as well.
Okay, okay.
These are all celebrities.
I'm assuming this is a chef then.
Probably the chef.
Yeah.
So you heard good things about this place.
Yeah.
All right.
This, in this camera, I look so ugly.
This is the point.
What did you say?
Did you say you look ugly in this camera?
Yeah.
Every comment is like, she's beautiful.
She's beautiful.
I look prettier in person, you know?
Most people look prettier in person.
That's not just you.
Everybody.
I look so much better in person.
No, no, you look the same.
I mean, honestly, you look exactly the same.
Are you saying I do not improve at all?
You look exactly the same in person, but I look prettier in person.
Okay, if you ever see her in person, she looks better.
Disclaimer for this camera.
This place has a mask envelope, so my mask won't smell like delicious barbecue afterwards,
which I kind of wanted to though.
So everywhere I go, when I try to order more food, I'm always told I shouldn't order more food.
This server here, first one, I was like, just get all of it.
I love her.
Oh, Christine also has a YouTube.
Your daily vlogging.
I'll put Christine's vlog info down.
It's in English?
Yeah.
I saw your vlog.
It was in Korean.
But some of them, they're in Spanish.
Your vlog is in Spanish, Korean, and English?
Yeah.
All right.
So we're having a little controversy.
So Christine, while I was filming this, she literally says to her cameras like,
mine looks better.
Frankly, this looks better.
No, it doesn't.
This is more famous than yours.
I'm getting angry.
What does fame have to do with it?
So this is really good.
They put a piece of fat on the grill.
And that's really the best way to grease a grill up.
Just a little salt and little chilies.
That's really all you need.
Because I think this meat is going to be spectacular.
Yeah?
Oh my gosh.
It's making my tongue all sorts of happy.
All sorts of happy.
You're happier?
Oh, some scallions.
Oh, scallions are good too.
You really just need a little salt.
I'm going to dip it in the soy sauce this time with little chili flakes.
Wow.
Melt in your mouth.
That does.
All right.
Well, I think something's really good.
Sometimes turn into Yoda.
Okay.
This is going to be really good.
Barely need to chew that.
It's great.
They cook it for you.
So it's always going to be perfect.
And the condiments really work well too.
Are you going to take it from me?
Usually that doesn't happen.
Usually it's the opposite.
Do you daily vlog about food?
I'm so disappointed.
Second piece we're eating is the sirloin.
Which has got a lot of the fat.
And we're supposed to eat it with some scallions.
No way.
That's so good.
Wow.
That's...
It melts even more in your mouth, doesn't it?
This is better than before, right?
It's got more fat.
Yeah.
That's the magic of fat.
This is it.
Everything is better with fat.
That's why I keep a lot of fat on me.
This makes everything better.
I realized I haven't asked for a drink.
Because every single cut of meat has been so juicy.
Lamb chop.
That's the best one by far.
Wow.
That combined like the beauty of the tenderness from the first cut.
And the fattiness from the second cut.
It deserves to be praised.
Oh, that's so good.
Make sure to take a bite of kimchi in between.
And then clear your palate.
So every time you're eating it, it's like you're eating it for the first time.
Oh, she just blessed me with something amazing.
For both of us with something amazing.
Boom.
Wow.
Lamb on a bone.
Oh, I feel so good about this.
You all right?
Use your teeth.
Now I feel like a hunter.
Yeah, you're like a hunter.
Like a meat on a bone, it's better than regular meat.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Lamb fat sprouts with rice.
It's actually really good.
I was surprised.
It's really good.
Yeah, this is way better than expected.
I mean, really.
You wouldn't think this would be that good.
It's really good.
I mean, the fat definitely soaked into these sprouts.
So the final, final dish.
Popping rice soup.
Like a roasted rice soup.
So this is like a water thingy.
Just kind of quench your thirst.
Because Asians, if you don't know,
a lot of times we don't drink stuff at the dinner table or during our meals.
We just drink soup.
And that would just be used as kind of like our water substitute.
So this is kind of like that.
This looks so good.
Oh, this looks so good.
Oh, now I'm satisfied.
I'm satisfied.
Are you sure I don't look better in person?
You look exactly the same.
But I look way better in person.
Wow, I haven't seen like this kind of visual.
Right?
Is it cheese?
It's cheese.
Caramel?
No, just cheese and ice cream and coffee.
So good.
So good, right?
So good.
The coffee is good.
The ice cream is good.
The coffee is good.
Ice cream is good.
The cheese is good.
The cheese is amazing.
A burger, a couple of burgers, french fries, sandwich, barbecue, ice cream later.
Still starving.
I have eaten at a local 7-Eleven in South Korea.
I'm gonna review this place on a more complete capacity later on.
But got some banana milk.
I got some 7-Eleven select product.
This is the brand I typically would trust to have really good food made.
I got a soft-boiled egg that doesn't look too soft-boiled.
And I got a sausage.
This looks sort of questionable.
Fish cake.
Not bad.
It just wasn't what I was expecting.
The egg and noodle is perfect.
This is a fantastic night.
I don't know what it is about the climate here in South Korea.
It's a perfect light jacket weather kind of evening.
I'm gonna sit outside, eat some food.
And then it feels pretty darn good.
Actually, I like the yolk.
So creamy.
This is a good instant noodle.
I'm happy that the 7-Eleven select brand did not disappoint this time.
Like I said in the beginning of this video,
probably gonna have to head back to the U.S. within about two or three weeks from now.
I've never not been ready to go home before.
Because no matter how much you like the place,
it's not home, you know.
There's always a base.
There's always somewhere where you feel the most comfortable.
Where, you know, you kind of build your life a little bit.
And I know this is mainly because of the pandemic.
But I just feel really reluctant to go back.
For obvious reasons.
My anxiety, the stress level, everything has just gotten so much better since I've been here.
And it's fun.
Like I have a lot of friends I hang out with.
I've been eating out with people that have been messaging me on Instagram.
Or people I ran into.
Or a friend of a friend like Christine.
I feel like I have my like pod here.
And I'm slowly sort of acclimating.
Like getting used to actually being here.
This is really, really, really good.
And I've said this on another video.
But I came here because I really felt like,
what is a cat?
That my mental health was suffering.
It was declining.
I needed to do something about it.
And I've been getting a lot of messages from you guys saying sort of the same thing.
Obviously everyone is being so affected by all this stuff that's going on.
Hey kitty, you want a fish cake?
Hey.
Never met a cat that didn't like fish cake.
I mean it's fish.
Don't cat love fish?
Oh, no.
No, it's eating it.
Good kitty.
If you do feel like your mental health is in decline.
If you feel like something is just not right.
You're feeling more down than usual.
I'm just here telling you guys don't sit idly by.
You gotta do something about it.
And I've been doing a lot of this here.
Take time for yourself every single day.
No matter if work suffers a little bit, school suffers a little bit.
You gotta just take some time.
And I don't know, unplug from the news or Facebook, Instagram.
This YouTube, well maybe after watching this video.
But just take time to just unplug, de-stress.
Because I really felt like, for me anyway,
a lot of that stress was just being on news sites all the time.
Because I want to stay aware of what's happening around the world.
And just that costs a lot of anxiety.
But the key is you gotta do something.
It's not gonna get better if you just ignore it.
So hopefully wherever you are, you're staying safe.
You're staying healthy.
And you're staying positive.
Because a healthy mindset is what we all need to really get through this.
So take care of yourself.
And take care of each other.
As always, thank you all so much for watching.
See you later.
Hey, it's me again, Mike.
I just gotta show you where the cat went to.
Look at this cat house.
It's a banana milk carton cat house.
That cat lives in there.
Might be the cutest cat house ever.
