COLORADO: Bishop Castle & Garden of the Gods ~ VLOG #179

Well, now we're in the car. I forgot to do a video intro this morning and wrap up on Durango, so here we go. We'll do it on the road. Well, the walking paths around this place were so cool. You can go pretty much everywhere. The people are nice. That chocolate. Well, that coffee. I think I want another one right now. I enjoyed our hike. Even though we got lost a few times without the GPS, we would have been on the other side of the mountain, but it was fun. We had a really good time here. Durango was your choice, and I give you another. You're getting a lot of A pluses lately. Good Lord. I got to up my game. I don't really need to lean sideways because the camera's on wide view, but I don't know. It was a fantastic place. Today, we're going to... Now we're on the road to... Where do we go from? Where do we go from here? So for future reference, Augusta Springs, Colorado is an adorable town. Oh, I'd like to come back and spend some time there. Definitely. It also looks out of our price range, but we'll check on that. Sitting right back and you'll hear the tale, the tale of a fateful trip that started from this tropic port aboard this tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailing man, skipper brave and sure. Five passengers set sail that day for a three-hour tour, a three-hour tour. You must read the sign before entering. So I was looking at all the fun things to do in Colorado and on obscure site, all of a sudden it said Bishop's Castle. And I thought, well, that's interesting. It is an hour out of our way, but so far it looks really cool. Pretty neat. Mr. Bishop has been building it for 60 years. It's not done yet. Nope. That went in long. Go for a pretty cat or maybe smarty cat. Think I can make it? In pure poundage, I'm at least two of Kate. Oh, there's a hole right there. Avoid the hole seems to be the best trick. Only small amounts of terror. At your own risk means at your own risk. Not climbing that. The dragon. Wow. Whoever gets fantasy built his own castle. This is awesome. Oh, this is freaky. That's how high it is. When you think, oh, that can't be that bad. When somebody's foot can go through that, it's not that safe. Now I understand why you have to sign a waiver before you come through here. This is really cool. And if you have a chance to stop by, I really would. They ask for donations, five to $20. And it's really a cool place. Next stop, Colorado Springs or Starbucks, whichever comes first. Starbucks, Starbucks. Well, you know which one won out. We just got to Colorado Springs, got an awesome deal on a Best Western and we're just going to kind of chill out in paradise, just until we're in the market. Well, I wasn't hiking in that dress. If you want to ride, you better get in. Well, where do we go? I can pronounce two of them. Welcome, Benvenido and Lula. All right. One out of one ain't bad. Good thing we got here early. They're only letting 90 people in today. The Wilson Center is amazing. It's got everything you need. So fun fact, the family that owned all of this, they gave it to the park system, but on one condition, they can never charge. That's awesome. That is pretty cool. I like free stuff. I can already tell this was a great choice. This place is beautiful. We haven't gotten all the way in yet, but I can see why they say it's heavily trafficked. The parking lots are huge. Katie, your favorite. At least I can hear them. We started here. Now we're here. Oh my God. That would have been epic. Well, this place is definitely a winner and it's free. Can't beat that. Wow. This is really gorgeous up here and there's tons of trail maps and bathrooms and services. I would put this on the definitely come through here when you're in Colorado Springs. Yeah. You definitely get an A plus on another site selection and I love that it's free. So we're really taking advantage of staying at hotels that have breakfast included right now. Well, we don't need it early. Watch out for that. Just save it for the room. And then we got lunch included. How are you doing? Good. Thanks. So while we're staying in places with a little more comfy bed, it helps us save on the budget by having one meal included. And since we're only two meals a day, that's a big bonus. I won't mention all the snacks that continue to haunt my existence. I know. When you go to the grocery store, those aisles just seem to call you. Don't you? Okay. You can judge me. You literally can judge me. You're the best one to do it. I want to go to this, uh, this, uh, Indian ruins that they've redone and see if, uh, it's worth actually paying the money to get into it.
