$30 ZEN CAPSULE HOTEL in Tokyo Japan

Good morning, I'm leaving in a couple days. So I figured today I go try this out. This is a new capsule hotel It's just opened And they emailed me before About trying their rooms out, but typically I don't do those kind of arrangements where they know i'm coming. So Um, they can kind of like try to be nicer to me or whatever But I still want to try this place out. So i'm just going to pay for a night of this. Look at this This is the hotel zen tokyo brand new capsule hotel. Okay, so they have standard mixed capsule room This place is supposed to be super zen. This is like way fancier than a typical capsule hotel And they have breakfast included. Oh, this is so nice superior mixed capsule room Which I think is just a little bigger male only floor So I guess the mixed capsule is the uh, it's male female floor and then they have With tatami mat You get a little bit of tatami right here, uh, that's what you're paying for apparently and of course the deluxe whoa this is like a almost like a Look at this so nice with a window. Let's just do a superior. I just want to try a typical room out So about thirty dollars a night. This is really inexpensive Okay, we're good to go Um, let's go grab some lunch and we'll check into our new capsule hotel for today Bueno this area is one of my favorite areas to come for good food And the place i'm looking for is I really want a good bowl of beef rice beef over rice. So gyo don And someone told me that there's a place here. That's really really good And also I wanted to go to the market again and grab some dumplings. They're so good last time. I want to get some more Here it is That looks absolutely intense Heck yeah, baby getting a big one Oh this curry looks good too, that looks good. Why not? One of these two let's do this one Just do a regular one of those What a glorious lunch This is my curry. I couldn't really read the japanese on differences of the two curries, but Holy bejesus, this is tender Is this not one of the sexiest things? You have ever seen in the morning. You can see the fat that is definitely wagyu See the marbling on that piece and just mix in the rice Oh my gosh Sensational This curry is rich. It's spiced up Flavor bomb loaded everywhere Beef's got a little bit of chew But oh my god, there's no denying the quality of that meat Rice is cooked perfectly the spices of the curry Is undeniable this thing for six dollars What a deal this is. Let's get a little pickled veggies involved here, too There are little bits of fatty beef mixed into this as well So some pieces get a little chew some pieces just do that whole melty thing That japanese beef is known for I love the pickled veggies It's such a nice little textural change A little bit of vinegar. It's such a pretty color. It's like almost like eating pickled flowers Even better that cuts down a lot of on the savoriness and the fattiness of the curry As good as that was we're moving on to the actual main event So she said to mix this With this this is just one of the prettiest things little strips of chili on top Never sick of seeing that lava flow sprinkle little chilies on top Sanchez I don't know if you can tell but This is me on the verge of tears right now this is Maybe the most glorious bowl Of gildon I had in japan so far like I want to come back here every single time for gildon the creaminess of the egg with the rice That alone sets it apart than any other gildon i've had before the beef it's just hypnotically delicious 100% melts in your mouth And not only that The beef is so flavorful Combine that with a little crunchy sauteed onions And the heat that's already in this bowl Might possibly be the best gildon I had in tokyo I feel like a dream eating this right now, you know, it's like too good to be true almost All right, I need some privacy with this thing I'm still like walking on air right now I can't believe how good that was You know like a good bowl of gildon The meat has to be soft obviously You gotta be able to taste that great beefy flavor. So double check on that already. Well with that gooey egg and also How well they marinated their beef that bowl just propelled itself to the next level status Anyway, well, you know tons of good yeast around here a lot of good actually chinese restaurants like spicy One of my favorites is from restaurants around here But there is a place that sells really good fried dumplings going to the market right now It's just walking around this area see so many places just like with lines outside. These are all like really good eateries I mean you could just walk around here for I don't know a month and Find something different every single day. That's what I love about this country so much just tokyo itself You can explore this place for the rest of your life And it still be awesome This of course is the ameyayo kocho market. We got filmed here a year and a half ago This place is actually really fun. It has basically everything Anything you want and right now I want some dumplings So they have all these like chinese food stalls Um near one entrance of this market And they pretty much serve the same stuff, but for some reason their dumplings are amazing Seriously any one of these places just grab a seat Oh, yeah, little crispy little buns Last time these things were so juicy. They splattered all over me. So Gotta kind of be careful. I don't want to waste a little but I suck most of the soup out already But from here you can see how much juice is in every single little bun Oh, no, I got a leaky bun Oh, it's just a profession of a uh leaky bun doctor I think I'd be perfect for that Solution pop the whole thing in your mouth Two of these dumplings are definitely from a fresher batch. Oh, the soup is burning hot. You see that lake of soup Sitting on the bottom of the bun Only way to deal with it now Take the inside out Pull it around I love these little buns I think i'm good actually One more thing one more thing Yum About time to check into my capsule hotel. Whoa, this is crazy. These cicada trees are already blooming Wow I'm walking through this part of the park and Unmistakable aroma just hit me Yep, that's pee Kind of miss new york I'm leaving in a couple days the reason i'm staying even as late as I as I am I had a business collaboration That ends day after tomorrow. So right after that's over i'm getting on a plane i'm getting out I really didn't want to change things last minute again because I already pushed it back Um, so yeah, so two more days here then i'm out of here I'll miss it though. Like I don't know if this is the calm before the storm or what but like at least right now, you know Life is still seemingly pretty normal here. Hopefully i'll stay this way. Hey, did you know you can buy dress shirts? at 7-eleven And ties What This is it Zen tokyo This is a very spiffy looking capsule hotel hotel bar This is the locker area That is big enough to fit a full-size luggage And this is mine 407 This is like a tea house Seriously it looks like a tea room It's so calming and soothing. It's simplistic. It's beautiful Let me show you around my room a little light switch by the way, you want some privacy There you go Simple little black and white painting of a bamboo nice bright lighting You have a fan If you want to just get some fresh air in here room light Relive light A little safe deposit box That's good to have So you can actually keep some passports and money in here. Everything is pretty new It's really comfortable. It's nice and clean the entire Presence of this It's so soothing It's so nice. I'm about to go to dinner I almost don't want to I was just ready for ready for sleep. Maybe i'll take a short little nap I got about A couple hours before dinner I can't I can't I can't if I sleep i'm not waking up. Let's go see what else this capsule hotel has to offer It's also a shower room workspace laundry This is the small workspace they have here Pretty small. I don't see many people doing much here A couple bathrooms vending machine Do get free wi-fi though. That's nice Bar lounge is closed Oh, there's another work lounge Come drink before you go to sleep Oh, this is so much better You can really smell the new You know It's pretty nice I like it. That seems to be a pretty nice capsule hotel It's clean the beds are comfy it's cheap 3200 yen a night so about 30 One night and what's kind of cool last time I was here. I stayed at I think nine hour Um, you don't have to check in and check out every single day So if you like book multiple days, you could just leave your luggage in the locker And it's really nice to have a little safe deposit box inside your capsule So you could leave your passport in there and feel pretty good about it This would not be bad for like a multiple night stay So i'm gonna go meet up with a couple friends of mine for dinner And then we'll come back and take the bed for a spin. Oh, look at this I never noticed this So cool, right? Just walk around the street you see like fast food restaurants and 7-elevens all of a sudden. It's like a traditional looking temple just stuck in the middle somewhere A little old with the new you know This might be it There you go, there you go There you go, buddy. You got you guys know simon. Hi. It's been a while. It's been a long time. I know Seriously, it's been a long time. He said a year and a half. I thought it was It's more than a year and a half first time. I was here. Yeah, that was freaking three years ago Was that the first so what we saw three years three years ago? No. Yeah, you guys know john So we're gonna grab some food. I don't know what we're eating little okinawa. What is this okinawan food? I guess We've actually ordered a bunch of stuff for you because we know how you love raw fish and all the you know But you got me Hope you got something really bloody. How about get some balloons up in here, too. All right meal meal eat eat This is all the meat we got It looked like this was going to be a very big bowl of meat We've got two pieces and these little ones that are out of focus. This is not a lot of meat That is not we got sea grapes though. That's nice. All right, it's cool getting a good meal with you guys. Yeah, he's safe Stay safe. Yes. Yeah when I leave so you're gonna be gone i'll be gone, but we won't be able to show you more good food There's a lot more mike, but you're gonna come back after the apocalypse and then we can have some more good food then. I don't know what that was Yeah, all right good seeing you guys all right likewise it's really cool hanging out with those guys grabbing a bite Sorry, I couldn't film a lot of it was just a lot of personal conversations, but genuinely good people Listen no one is snoring. That's awesome Might be about to change that though I'm, sorry I think i'm ready for bed Oh, this is so gross Oh my god, this is not mine. I did not get into this bed yet. Oh, this is so gross What? It's this bed is full of little body hair. Oh, look at this It's full of little body hairs This place looks so clean in the daytime and he had left the What So many little body hairs. All right, i'm gonna sleep on top of the blanket today maybe I'm, not gonna use the blanket. I'm gonna put my towel down here. I'm gonna just use my jacket as the blanket I did not expect that I mean Okay, it's clean now sheets, but Ew All right. I gotta get some sleep. I'm so tired I'll see you in the morning. These are one of the shower rooms It's okay Oh, by the way, I didn't grab this but you could get slippers right before you go to bed That was a very zen I tripped and almost Fell in front of that car Okay overall impression of the place. It's beautiful on the outside. It's actually got a really nice ambience The capsules are beautiful. They're very serene. I had a good night's sleep. It was comfortable I mean, I wish I could have slept under the blanket, but I mean, it's just me. I just got problems sleeping on top of other people's body hairs That's all that incident aside. It's a nice capsule hotel I mean 30 bucks a night. You really can't beat that if you're really on a budget They give you breakfast you got bread and cereal and juice and whatever so You can really save some money staying at one of these places right now It's about 7 30 in the morning and one of the few places that are always going to be open You can find sort of okay decent food is yoshinoya. I didn't love it the first time I went so I haven't been back See if there's any better This place is like the japanese mcdonald's It's just always open Let's go for another gildo, that's cool. They got this like hot pot beef thing try it This looks and smells really good Just like I remember The beef is not very soft, but it's nice and fatty Just the lean parts are way too chewy and this hot pot thing is spicy. It doesn't have much flavor. I had to soy sauce it tofu's good though that was very meh I mean For like close to 10 bucks This wasn't a lot of meat And the flavor was lacking a bit. Okay for something that's open 24 hours for a quick fix, but I still contend 7-eleven gildo much better than yoshinoya Let's go get one Isn't that just a juicy juicy fatty? beautiful looking slices of beef And you pour that over the rice doesn't this look better than what I just had And juice gets all up in the rice's business Look how fatty and soft this beef is Can we just be a hundred percent? Objective here And just look at the quality of stuff. Never mind that one came from a convenience store Sprinkle on the chilies Now we're talking Hmm oh, this is so magical It sure just went straight to 7-eleven And the price I paid for that thing From yoshinoya, I could have bought two of these and a drink Long day ahead of me.
