First Time in Mexico! Traditional Dinner & HUGE Burger

Morning five o'clock in the morning. I don't think I ever been so sleepy in my life I didn't go to bed till four. Now that I'm not in New York. I gotta sort out all my footage before I leave Anyway as you can see I'm going somewhere today I've been trying to go to Mexico for probably like the last year year and a half, but just Always something came up Finally right now. That's why I'm hitting and what's surprising at least to me. Is that it's middle of summer right now It's actually really really cool in Mexico City. I mean it's raining, but it's cool. No heat tacos Enchiladas street food can't wait the plan is I'm going to Morelia meeting my local friend Carlos. He's gonna be Basically taking me all around Mexico, and then we're spending a couple days over there Then we're gonna drive to Mexico City spend a few days there then head to a festival over in Oaxaca So three places I spent about ten days in Mexico a lot of eating is gonna be happening I mean, I love Mexican food, but never had it from the source. Oh So excited Layover in Houston about three hours. I've never been so hungry during a layover in my life in Houston, Texas It's got to be some barbecue right after doing some research this restaurant it's actually rated pretty nicely a little away from my gate, but I'll make it there blue flowing daily Get a see right on the front lines of food. I got a burger and got myself a gator That's pretty much the opposite of tough yeah, I know this is really really really cliche But it just tastes like chicken, I mean really crispy moist tender chicken Seriously, if no one told me what this was I would just guess chick. I'll never guess alligator It's good. I mean, it's fried perfectly crispy juicy sauce is good a little spice to it. I gotta say this is a massive burger Look at this thing. I mean good lord. This is humongous. Look at the size of this bun It's all softened and toasty too massive massive beef patty that is a Texas-sized burger for sure That's delicious crispy bacon with all the mustard That's nice juicy patty massive nice juicy patty Good choice that's probably gonna be my last meal of the day because when I get to Mexico Get to my Airbnb. It's probably gonna be about nine o'clock. I gotta go to bed Bright and early food day starts tomorrow Guess what I ran into There's Ben I've totally forgot we booked the same flight on the way to Morelia Oh my gosh, the plane was all the way All of a sudden filled with mosquitos Is that from the outside? It just flew in there. Wow. I need to buy some repellent. Oh, we just got here. Hey, this is Carlos This is my buddy here and here you live you live. I didn't know you lived here. Yeah in Morelia Morelia Carlos and I how many years been a long time Old friend of mine, but he's gonna show us around around Mexico. So we're gonna start you live. This is your hometown Yeah, we're really up. Yeah started more really and what is this? This is a gift for me. Wait, what is it? Oh It feels like a fruit You guys oh my god, oh Popsicle. Yeah. This is from Uriangato and Uriangato is like half an hour for tea Coffee Wait chocolate No, and the real surprise is in the in the middle the middle not to bite it Like coffee candy milk milk candy the name is I Know you Yeah Okay Really our Airbnb. All right, just a brief stay and we'll show you guys the Airbnb later It's really beautiful little house But Carlos is taking us out for tacos So we're looking for tacos right now and we call us to this to this place is the best tacos Well, they're about to close so we're gonna come by tomorrow this 64 years 64 years tradition. They start in the little parking In the house in front really? Yeah, and now it's a full-on restaurant. Yes Do it first bite of food in Mexico, it's like 10 p.m. I just noticed Toronto Raptors. He's so proud So festive and nice Beautiful or a lot of tacos To one of each this one did it a special number four. Yeah Everything and the price is like 50 pesos is about $3. So a combo here is about Like six bucks fresh chilies onions radish some lime Oh My god, that's the corn soup with the pork. Yes, and then that's the one with the chick chick. Oh Yeah, baby Look at all that fat and meat and tendon good lord Huh? This is all the best pieces of pork right here. Does the white version with chicken? Oh This looks a little I'll be honest. This looks a little less impressive Looks so good Lettuce radish. Yes Chilies, so do you use hands to just grab? Yes more chilies Finally lemon that man. I love the citrus in my soup for sure. Oh This is our combo enchiladas tacos tostada, I'm gonna try this. Yes, please. Oh Man, that's a hearty soup. I need more lemon. I mean more lime me more citrus. Oh Man, this is a hearty porky soup You need the citrus You need it kind of balance out that fatty porky flavor I'm gonna grab a taco. Look at this crunchy taco. Oh Oh First taco in Mexico. Let's taste like a hug right here I'm true Whoever the juiciest taco ever Soup and juicy taco Yeah, cream and sauce cream and sauce Cream sauce, what kind of sauce tomato? Yeah. Oh Oh, so it's like a dumpling there's like a bread this is a pork with all the cartilage Intended this is gonna be a crunchy bite Like the crunchy a little Name is gorgeous. Hmm. I like this one in the meat. This is incredible this The corn just kind of like falls apart in your mouth, you know, just breaks apart just goes dancing like everywhere It's sweet, yes, you know the sweet tamale come here sweet tamale Hmm Corn Wow. I never had something like this before Sweet tomorrow. I've only had like savory tamale. Oh, wow Mmm, that's so nice and sweet. Yeah. Yeah this thing. I should have put out his own plate You can't let it touch anything sour. I just want to eat alone. It's only like softer texture Softer Smoother but really really nice. I think this is still my favorite. Yeah Another sweet tamale. Yeah, I totally this pineapple Yeah See Boy being Wow, this is great Wow Try this Sweet Tropical soaky you can taste the corn. You definitely taste the pineapples Mmm, what's this? What's inside? Some kind of candy. Yeah That's good like you get the sweetness of the corn and the sweetness of the candy it's completely different. Oh Okay, you know what I like that I mean, this is what flavor is this guava? Yeah, I don't like guava as much as pineapple. This is great. This is crispy soaked in caramel looks like Let's taste like sweet air That is light With some ice cream, that'd be really good. We're gonna stop filming. We're gonna eat first meal here tomorrow The food adventure really begins a really cool little place. So check it out if you're ever here. Oh my gosh, that is beautiful So this is a huge place just me and Ben so there's one bedroom here little rest area here a Big bedroom here. It's like in a tunnel and then there's an oh, there's mosquitoes Everywhere that's a huge problem. I don't know what to do about that. I wish I had a mosquito net or something and then you go upstairs Bedroom there's a table So happy I'm here great first day great first meal Carlos like we've known each other for about 10 years. So It's really good to see him at his home state and we're gonna go to Mexico City. Then we're gonna go to Oaxaca I'm gonna be about here about 10 days. It's gonna be a fun couple of weeks I gotta go to bed and Carlos actually we're just talking. I think he's gonna start like a tourism business He's pretty good at this stuff.
