After catching this Brook Trout I am definitely excited to continue hiking and four wheeling to these high elevation mountain lakes! There are approximately 80 fishable lakes or ponds on this mountain making it a playground for Anglers in search of trophy brook, cutthroat, tiger, or rainbow trout. There is a maze of off-road vehicle roads that get you to most. There are a few that are only accessible by foot. It's the hiking lakes that interests me the most!
Some of these trips will be 4x4 adventures, overland, since some of these roads are near impassable. Luckily my Toyota T100 has undergone some improvements allowing for better off-road capabilities. Other trips will be all about backpacking and spending the night at some of these most remote mountain lakes!
I'm in Torrey, Utah. I passed a sheriff. He turned around and actually flipped his lights on,
pulled up to the side of my truck. He said, it's nice to meet you.
I said, it's nice to meet you too. And then he said, I've watched almost all your videos.
So this is Coleman Reservoir. This is called Round Lake.
Well, here we are, Donkey Lake. I think I'd like to try to figure out
exactly where the best place is going to be to fish.
I did see a fish jump over there.
Oh, hey, I got a bite. That's a good sign.
Fish are jumping all over the place. I got to change my lure.
I've already gotten one bite. At least biting.
Well, I'll turn on the camera if I get a fish or if something interesting happens.
I still haven't caught any fish, but man, it's beautiful.
I got one. Let's see if I can catch him on film here.
Oh, look how beautiful he is. Now that's a fish.
Totally a different shape than the Uinta fish that I catch.
Wow, look at that fish. It's beautiful. I don't know if I've ever seen a brook trout
as brightly colored as this one is. And I guess it's the time of the year.
Cooking on this GSI pan is really nice. It just evens out the heat so nicely.
Fishing potatoes tonight. Wow, that is good.
The onions and the garlic and the potatoes really made it good.
The onions are actually really sweet. Very nice and tender.
Look at those beautiful coals doing their work.
