Browsing the Nissan lot for your next crossover? You might be wondering the difference between the Nissan Rogue and the Nissan Rogue Sport or Nissan Qashqai. In this video I compare the 2022 Nissan Rogue vs the 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport to help you determine which one should you buy? #nissanrogue#Nissanqashqai#carsunlocked
So today we got the battle of the Nissan crossovers,
the 2022 Nissan Qashqai and the 2022 Nissan Rogue
to help you determine which one should you buy.
Now I'm Dutch, so here's at Cars Unlocked,
the first thing we compare is the pricing.
And our MSRP on this Rogue SV all-wheel drive
is gonna be $35,598.
When we compare that to the SV Qashqai all-wheel drive,
we're gonna have an MSRP of $29,298.
So there's about a six grand difference
between the two prices.
Bigger price tag for the bigger vehicle.
Before we jump into the power plans
and get into the meat and potatoes of the vehicles,
guys, just do me a favor and hit that subscribe button
if you guys learned something here today.
I'll wait.
Give us a thumbs up if we've helped
with your buying purchase.
Hopefully you hit that button there,
but let's talk about the power plans
because this is where the cars differ quite a bit,
not only in size, but in the size of the engine.
Nissan Rogues come with a brand new engine for 2022.
This one's a 1.5 VC variable compression,
three-cylinder turbocharged engine,
and it's gonna give you about 201 horsepower
and 225 pounds-feet of torque.
You're also gonna get a combined fuel economy
of about 8.1 liters for every 100 kilometers.
So comparing that to the Qashqai,
the Qashqai comes with the two-liter four-cylinder engine,
141 horsepower and 147 pounds-feet of torque.
Both of them come with a CVT transmission.
Now for the Rogue,
you get this second-generation CVT transmission
that Nissan has upgraded.
And with the fuel economy on the Qashqai,
it also comes with eight liters per combined.
So there isn't a drastic difference now
with the new engine that comes in this Rogue.
So there isn't a huge difference in fuel mileage
from the bigger vehicle.
I would say at the pumps,
you're not gonna see a huge dollar amount difference.
However, you get more power
with this new turbocharged engine.
So you guys comment below
which power plant you guys like better.
The wheels are relatively the same.
You get the same layout on the wheel.
The Rogue is gonna come with paddle shifters.
And then there's a few other things
that the Rogue's gonna come with.
You get the power adjustable seat with the Rogue.
The Qashqai is a manual seat.
So if you like a power seat, you get the power seat.
Both cars come with heated seats and heated steering wheel.
And then this Rogue,
you have this kind of two-tone cloth interior
and you get the two-tone cloth interior in the Qashqai,
but they're a little different.
So with the car side by side,
you can really see the difference in the exterior here.
Our Rogue, you can just see is a lot higher up
than our Qashqai.
But when we look at features on the front end,
they're similar.
Both of them come with our flattened out Nissan emblem.
That's for our forward emergency braking.
And you have our intelligent cruise control.
Both cars are gonna come with the pro pilot assist.
So that will help keep you centered in the lane
when you're driving on the highway.
But just a little different style
in the headlight design for the Rogue.
You kind of see this double stacked headlight style.
Both of them will come with automatic headlights,
but you can just tell the difference between the Rogue here
with the stacked headlight styling.
On our Qashqai, pretty basic styling.
We have our keyless entry,
our chrome accents around the mirrors,
chrome roof rails as well.
And then we have the 17 inch aluminum alloy rims.
Comparing that to the exterior styling of the Rogue,
you can see this one has a little two-tone style
aluminum alloy rim.
It's a little sportier rim on the SV Rogue.
Same thing though.
We have remote access here
and our chrome roof rails and chrome accents.
In this Rogue, you do get a camera on the mirror here.
So this one comes with the 360 camera as well.
Now this is where your money's gonna go a long way
when comparing the Rogue to the Qashqai.
When you look at the trunks here,
the Rogue just has a much larger trunk,
obviously being the bigger vehicle.
When you fold the seats down on the Rogue,
you have a huge, large, flat cargo area.
It's just flush all the way from the back to the front.
The trunk on the Qashqai is a little bit smaller,
obviously being the smaller vehicle,
you don't have as much cargo area,
but here's my biggest complaint.
I've said this a lot of times,
I like a flat storage space.
So you can see the difference.
There's this hump here in the Qashqai.
You still get quite a bit of space,
but that hump just was gonna hinder a lot of things.
So I like the trunk of the Rogue a lot better.
When you jump on the inside of each vehicle,
it's a little different here.
Here we're on the inside of the Rogue
and you can see the difference in the interior
with our center console here.
We have the square shifter knob on the Rogue.
A lot more space is in the Rogue
and you have this kind of space down below
the hidden storage there.
Sitting in the Qashqai, you can see the center stack
is just a little bit different here.
I don't have as much space for my elbows
and then you have this regular shifter knob,
which does take up a bit more space.
So I do like the center stack better in the Rogue.
So if you're a family man or woman,
you can see how much space I have in the Rogue.
A lot more spacing for your family.
I'm sitting higher up and I have USB connections back here.
So this is the big difference.
I've said that in this video before,
why you're paying the extra money
is for the space back here and the space in the trunk.
Just gonna sit in this one so you can get an idea.
You can see how little space I have.
If you got two kids, this is fine.
But like I said, you just get more space in the Nissan Rogue.
When you compare the screens, you can see some similarities,
but there are some differences here.
Our Qashqai is gonna come with a seven inch touchscreen
compared to our Rogue eight inch.
Both vehicles will get your Android Auto,
Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth audio streaming,
Cirrus satellite radio, and Nissan Connect system.
When you compare the cameras,
you can see our Qashqai still has
the single kind of backup camera,
while our Rogue has the two views with the 360 camera.
So if you live in a tight parking space
or you have a underground garage,
maybe having the extra camera on the Rogue
is gonna benefit you.
The heating system is relatively the same.
You get this digital temperature control in both cars.
So no difference there.
In terms of safety features,
both cars come with the same safety features.
You get the forward emergency alert,
the pro pilot assist, like I said,
emergency braking, blind spot monitor,
lane departure warning, automatic headlights,
the full Nissan safety suite.
Nissan really keeps the safety features the same.
The difference here, guys,
is this Rogue comes with the turbo.
You get a lot more oomph when you put your foot down
and you do get just a little bit more torque.
It's more of a gradual acceleration with both cars,
but this car just accelerates a little bit quicker.
So if you're looking for power,
definitely this one will have more acceleration
right out of the gate.
Now the changes to the Rogue makes a big difference here
when you're driving and comparing it to the Qashqai.
Obviously you don't get the power that you get in the Rogue
and that torque output that you get in the Rogue now,
but the drive of the Qashqai is great.
You won't get as much acceleration with the Qashqai,
but you still have enough acceleration.
In terms of space, obviously being the smaller vehicle,
you don't have as much space here,
elbow room and things like that
when there's two people in the car
and you're not sitting as high up in the Qashqai.
But overall, this is a great drive.
If you want the more space and the more power,
you go with the Rogue.
If you're okay and you wanna be a little lower
to the ground, but you still want that kind of SUV feel,
you go with the Qashqai for the lower price.
So there you have it, guys.
What do you guys think?
Comment below.
I can give my opinion, but I love hearing your opinion.
If it was me, after comparing the two models,
I'd go with this Nissan Rogue.
I do like the power plan, I do like the extra space,
and I do like driving the Rogue.
I've been driving a Rogue for about eight, nine months
as my demonstrator, and I love it.
