See how the holistic and balanced approach for facial acupuncture that helps patients from the preparation to the end, by Louie Lu, DAIM, L.Ac.
Patients have the problem of the sagginess and dampness and then the water retention.
So that's why I'm going to use a couple points to help her to address these problems.
So of course, when you address the body problem, your skin, your face will be better than before
because that's the key of the health and the pretty and the healthiness.
Usually I will use three needles. That's from Dr. Dong, Master Dong,
Daoma. So Daoma point is helping to make the key point is better. So we use this like three needles
together. And also this is Splint 9. Splint 9 is very good for in water, means the water is
stay in the dark, not easy to get rid of the water retention. So we use this. Of course,
we can combine with the Splint 6 to help the patient feel relaxed, comfortable
and to address especially of all the female problems. As we know, oriental medicine is a
holistic medicine. So we don't address only one thing. We address of everything. Holistic balance.
Yeah, I came here quite a few times and Louis gave me a treatment and it appeared right away.
The wrinkle got disappeared and you can see from here, it's no wrinkle. Before it's very
thick and hard and now it's gone. A dupontion needle is very, very tiny, just like a hair.
It's very mild. It's very gentle. And then when it's pushed in the body, especially the face,
you will only feel like a little bit stimulation and then a little bit tightness or a little bit
heaviness. But everything is normal, but it's not like a big needle. So we don't have to afraid of
that. So we just help with the patient to address on the scalp area that can help to release the
tension, especially for those patients who have headache, those patients who have a stress
tightness, sitting in front of computer all day, sitting in front of a TV all day.
So we will be going around before we move on to the facial acupuncture.
In today's, this patient will be addressing the most of these two lines in between the eyebrows
and also the puffiness under the eyes that will be like a puffy eyes. And also we will be
addressing the line here. When the patient's lay down, you might not see this line very clear,
but when she's standing up, it will be very clear. So we can address of this line and also
the sagginess on the jaw area and the cheek area. That's what we're going to focus on today.
So we can start from here. And for the sagginess, the needle might go in deeper because
this area, this muscle area is more thicker. So you will be very safe as long as you don't
touch the bone. A patient won't feel a lot of sensations and we do not do manipulation.
What's manipulation? Means going up and down, up and down. We don't do manipulations
on the face. So patient won't feel a lot of sensations. And again, the needle will be
towel upward because we're going to do lifting. So move the energy, move the cheek upward.
Along the bone area, along the side of the bone area. We don't do on the bone because
when we do on the jaw bone, patient will feel a lot of pain. So we don't do on the bone. We just
along the groove beside the bone. You can just see the jaw bone like this.
How do you feel? Good?
We do upward and outward to make everything going up to guide the cheek upward.
For this line, we can do this way. You can do a little bit threading. More focus on this line.
Is that okay for this? Doing okay? Very good. Also, this line, this point is very good for
sinus problem. So you can do deeper to the bone. Do a little bit
sensations. Touch the top of the bone. So it will be addressing of the sinus problem. Also,
to address the fine lines. So it will be a wing wing. Let's do the same upward and outward.
This patient have some dark circle and discoloration. So we can do this to address
the dark circle and the dark discoloration area like this. We circle it to make the circulation
to focus on this area. So this circle. Sometimes when you have a circle, you will see this part
will be starting a little bit redness. That's when the blood and energy, the cheese come in
to do the healing. So our body is very amazing because when you do the right treatment,
when you do the right thing, the body will be starting to do the self healing. And that's the
all. Compare with everything. The best medicine is your self immune system and your self healing
system. That's every time I tell my patient. It's better than any kind of medicine.
As you can see, I was addressing this fine line. So I would do a little bit deep thread.
You can just pick the skin up so the needle won't be too deep, but it will be on the skin
of the surface, this layer. So that's what we call threading. Do not do it this at home.
If you are not training as acupuncturist, do not do this at home.
So that's the key to help with the fine lines because when there's an intruder like a needle
into the skin, our body's self healing self system, especially immune system will think,
Hey, there's an intruder. We need to get up and fight. So they produce a lot of good collagen
to help you to heal from the mild wound like this. The dark spot, the needle doesn't need
to be go deep because all the dark spot is on the surface of the skin. So we have a set
bone to bone, muscle to muscle, tendon to tendon, skin to skin. So if your needle is very shallow
on the top of the skin, it's helping with the skin issue. If it's going to the bone,
it's helping with the bone issue. So that's a very good technique from an ancestor,
okay, 5,000 years old ancestor was telling us bone to bone, muscle to muscle, tendon to tendon, and
skin to skin. I got the treatment before, so like twice a week or a month or something like that.
It will help me.
