cafe hopping in seoul☃️ ikseon-dong (basil risotto, scorched rice coffee, photobooth, holiday vibes)

Hey everybody and welcome to this cafe helping vlog. Today I'm back in the Ikseondong area and I haven't been back here in a while so I'm excited to be back and there's just so many things that I wanted to eat and try today so I've been saving up my stomach and I made a reservation at 11 a.m for a water meal. I just arrived. I didn't get to check this out last time so I'm really excited about it. Wow look how cool that is and they also have white fish in here. It's a Wednesday morning. I took a day off from work today and it's also kind of rainy today so there's like nobody here which is great because this place is always crowded all the time. Anyways okay I'm gonna order. Christmas is coming. The snowflakes will be falling. It's the most wonderful time of the year. Picked up a menu. Don't hang up your stocking. Wow look at this. I'm debating between this earl grey pudding or this steamed bun set. I don't know. They both look really cute but I feel like maybe because I'm gonna eat a lot of bread today I'll just get that earl grey pudding. Okay so I got nurungji coffee. Nurungji is this and it's basically just burnt rice and a lot of people like to eat it as a snack or they like to eat it as porridge. This is my first time seeing nurungji coffee so I'm kind of excited to try it. Whoa this is so good. This is the earl grey pudding. I love earl grey so let's see how this is. It's so jiggly. I don't know what sauce this is. Let me try it. This is also earl grey. Very concentrated earl grey taste. I'm not a huge fan of pudding but this is pretty good. This is really good actually. This alleyway is so cute. Santa, I've been good this year. Make your list and check it twice. I'll leave you a note right here underneath the Christmas tree. Oh this store has a lot of cute like ugly sweatshirts. Now that it's lunchtime there's actually a lot of people out so here's Santa Claus. Hey Santa. This is a photo booth area. Is it weird if I take these photos by myself? People usually just do this with friends or their boyfriends or whatever but I'm here by myself but I feel like it'd be kind of cute and there's like over here in the back there are like some props that you can put on. Okay you guys, I'm gonna do it. I'm just gonna take pictures by myself. They have this whole basket on the bottom of like little props. Let's try it on. I kind of feel a Oh shoot. Oh my gosh. Oh this is actually kind of cute. Okay I don't know. Is this a look? This is too ridiculous. Should I just not wear the cape? We can like take it on and off. Okay let's try putting money into this machine. Okay I just paid and I don't know what to start now. Gosh this is not good. Let's go with this one. Oh gosh. So you can actually tape your photos on the wall like everybody else. I'm gonna post mine up and if you find it let me know. I put myself here. medium-sized. Maybe like more than half is off my face. I don't know if I can finish all this by myself but we'll try. They also give you this like really cute paper. Maybe it's butter. This is not butter. I don't know what it is but it's really sweet. I'm really good. The bread is so soft. I'm getting my bread to go because I couldn't finish all of it. I ripped it up all in pieces to show you guys how soft it is. This place says that they're providing free ramen so why not right? We're just gonna do QR check-in. I think this is like a car rental promotion or something and they're giving out free ramen and free caricatures until the end of the year. So I mean I actually just needed a place to charge my camera battery so this is good. Thank you. I'm really not hungry but I think this will be a good balance after all that bread and desserts and stuff. Oh this is spicy. I like it. They said they're gonna take a photo for me so. Gosh I'm so awkward at taking photos. So it's gonna appear soon. It's like slightly appearing. Okay he's done. Thank you. Wow they even give me a gift as I go out. I think it's ramen. Okay so I am back at Cafe Highways. This is probably one of my favorite cafes in this area and all of the Christmas decorations are so cute which is why I got the teddy cake because it has a little Santa hat and I thought that was so cute. I had so much dessert today already but um I got it. I got rooibos tea so there's no caffeine in it. Always a good choice. I have two hot packs because it's really cold outside these days. Okay so it is currently 5 57 p.m and I got here around 10 40 a.m to make it in time for my 11 a.m reservation. I'm very very tired and I'm so full. I realized I didn't really eat any protein today so I think I might make my way over to eat some meat. I'm just gonna walk around a little bit and check out the Christmas decorations and digest a little bit. I don't know where I'm going. I don't think this is the right way. Okay I'm gonna okay I'm gonna pull up my map now. Wow the night vibes of this place is completely different than during the day. There's all the gogi places open and there's a lot of drunk people too. I don't think I've been here during the evening. Wow these Christmas decorations are so pretty. Wow so sparkly and just this entire little alleyway it's just so cute. This is the wait list for Oncheonjip, the shabu shabu place that I ate in my first Ikseondong vlog. Well I never knew but there is a Cheongsudang spa right next to the cafe. Whoa I feel like I'm walking into something so magical. Wow this is a spa. Whoa this is so cool. I'm gonna try to not fall into the water. I was just told I can't go inside of course by this guy. Okay anyways I'm gonna go to a gogi place. It's about a one minute walk from here. This place has nurungji as a little snack. It's like the burnt rice coffee I had earlier. First you mix the coffee with the rice and then you take the rice out of the bowl and then you mix the sauce here and then you eat it here. You mix the nurungji and the nurungji here and then you eat it here. Oh so you eat the nurungji here? Yes, you have to choose. Oh okay. You take out what's inside. Oh okay. Thank you. Oh my gosh wait it wasn't this sauce. This is just soup. There's sauce behind here. Supposed to use this with the rice. Oh okay. Yeah something didn't look right. This is how nurungji is made. It's usually like the burnt rice at the end and that's how they make it. Oh they gave me a little yogurt after my meal. That's really cute. I think I'm gonna end the vlog here.
